Thank you everyone for your support.... I did look into the superclavivular node radiation and it is a good thing... I guess my mind just started running amuck with what if this and what if that... After all the news this week with Bowie, Rickman, and then Holley Kitchen, I just freaked out! I don't usually freak out... I also realized I was beginning to get a cold, and I didn't want that before rads! My crazy brain started going on tilt-a-whirl. I laid down on the couch for a minute and when I closed my eyes the room started spinning for a sec... I realize it was my sinuses being stuffy, and my ear hurting. My rational mind reminded me of that... my crazy mind started going, oh, no maybe you have brain mets!!!! Stop the ride, I wanna get off and go back to the cafe! I'll meet you ladies there for another latte!

Since I know I'll forget to mention someone, I'm just so darn thankful that everyone is having good results for procedures and tests lately... and that all of you are out here...

    Warrior On!

Stepping off my own tilt-a-whirl for a moment to check in. I think I'm having withdrawal symptoms from stopping zoloft - not fun. The only thing I can tolerate right now is listening to Juliet Stephenson read Mrs. Dalloway on my Audible. Bonus: it reminds me of Alan Rickman. Sad

Thinking of you all and hoping everyone has a good weekend.

thank you Ladies. Sorry for the weird post my phone was acting up and I deleted the second part of the posting. I want to check out this pain on my left femur. I am wondering if it is inflammation or something else (arthritis) I only feel it later in the day.

I could put a call for my MO.

Lolis:mainly just another 'welcome to the group, and please do come back to let us know when you're going to see whomever's willing to discuss the matter' (and don't worry about typos. you wouldn't be the first one or the last)

Pennsygal: hoping the Audible book is helping move you to your calm space? Can you titrate the Zoloft?

M(((Shorfi))) thanks! I've been healing well and keeping you in my thoughts as well. Hope you are resting well and beginning to feel the relief from crazy- making chronic pain!

Please everyone keep Gogo/Gaia in your thoughts and prayers. Although her recent scans showed no progression, it was advised that she have a back surgery before she started targeted rads. So she has been in the hospital for a couple of days and will have surgery early this week. She has been in pain, so hopefully it can be managed better this way. She is in a good place mentally, our lovely girl with with such strong life spirit. She has plenty of visitors coming, and the mothership is in her orbit. 🙏🏼🌿🍃🌿🙏🏼

(((((Hugs)))) to everyone today!!!! I start rads tomorrow 8:20 time slot! Have had a bit of a cold this week and just started experiencing some vertigo... I'm attributing the vertigo to the cold/sinus thing, since my ear hurts a little every once in a while. However, my mind immediately went to Crazy Town and all the ugly places it could go with regard to vertigo... and what it could be... ugh!!! Now life really is a tilt-a-whirl... please say a few prayers...

Thanks for the update on Gaia, Katy. Sending hugs and fervent wishes that the surgery will go well.

    Welcome, Lois!

Hoping Katy, Shorfi, and anyone else who've had surgery/procedures are healing.

Pennsylgal, JerseyGirl (a.k.a. the mid-atlantic ladies), also remembering Bowie, Rickman, Holly Kitchen, and others public and private who've succumbed to some variant of the bad disease we're all fighting. All too young...

For those who want a quick, fun read with links: http://www.theatlantic.com/entertainment/archive/2...

And good luck with rads tomorrow, JerseyGirl! Once you get used to it, the actual experience of getting radiation is not too bad.

We're in typical Sunday mode here. DH is working, DS is coming up on finals and is doing homework, and I've cleaned the stove, have made a small dent in a mountain of laundry, and have bread rising in the oven. I'm boring: this is my routine, and I like it. Weekly hair check: it's starting to snake down my neck, just barely, but is a long way from the wavy blunt cut I've had most of my adult life, and which I would very much like to have again!

So we beat on, wig clamped firmly onto head, carried along with the current, and wishing the best of Sundays to all crazies.... (with enormous apologies to F. Scott Fitzgerald)

Jerseygirl- sending calming thoughts your way. We will all be in your pocket tomorrow as you start this latest road trip. I'm so glad you found us. It feels a lot less crazy to be one of many Crazies, methinks. 💗

Lost my previous post. Will try again.

First, hoping Beppy you are feeling better and getting care for your symptoms. Let us know how you are when you get a chance.

And Katy, Hope you are seeing perfectly today. BTW, I'm sewing like crazy. I think I have enough blocks made.

Gaia, thinking of you, hoping surgery is successful with quick recovery.

And those experiencing the wild ride on the tilt-a-whirl, hold on tight until you come to a soft landing. We'll be there to catch you.

Today's order of business: Clean up my sewing mess. I have a dedicated sewing room plus the big dining room table and both areas are overflowing with piles of fabric that I'm using to make a large crazy quilt. Now I need to fold remaining fabric, organize it, and put it all away. Not fun at all. Husband is biting tongue, but I'd better get with it.

Hope DH tongue is not permanently damaged...

Thanks,Katy, for letting us know about GoGo. (I love your name for her!) i hope very much that they treat her very carefully in the surgery, and that it really fixes the problem there without creating any more problems! And that she breezes through rads there too! It sounds like those things are going to restore her pretty well! Fingers, eyes, toes crossed for our earth mother.

Good luck to anyone starting Rads......my wish for you is that it goes exactly like mine did, but not as many as I had......I think mine was overkill, but it was a regional cancer center, so who am I to question what they did....right.......

NO machine break downs, no burns, no scary moments......I think the worst was the set up and the mapping to prepare me.........will never forget the position they had me in........OMG......2 rotator cuff tear surgeries, and they said "put both your arms up here".......I thought are you f/n kidding me..........brutal............that as the worst............after that it was all so easy...............and of course my sweet "Mark" 'who the first time we met said t me "Ok Mrs. Barbieri, take off your robe"..........almost died, and then said "ok gorgeous, if you can handle this so can I"..............we became best friends...........with many laughs............I have grandsons his age........LOL

So I hope you all do well, and somehow manag to get a "Mark" as one of your techs.........LOL

Hi Blondie, nice to see you here!

JAN69, were you going to post photos of the crazy quilt?

Iris: heating pad, new sofa, sounds like a nice way to crash.

Made bread and also a lentil soup with some tomato in it. Nothing extraordinary but a good winter meal. Peace, all.

Rainyc, I think I'll wait until it's finished to show off the quilt. Pretty much a bunch of raw squares right now. My pride, you know. Might post my other current quilt in progress. It's a valentine quilt for my daughter. I got a new ott lamp and it makes such a difference. I have macular degeneration in both eyes, uncontrolled high ocular pressure in both eyes, legally blind in one eye. So I'm trying to use up fabric before I lose what site I still have. Just scored Rick Springfield tickets for this Valentine's Day at the Hard Rock Cleveland. Not to sure how thrilled my husband is to be dragged along to my teenage hearthrob's show...but hey, I already have a cousin lined up as a back up date. Guess we'll really get to test if all my girl hormones have finally left the building with my scheduled ooph.hyst this Tuesday (along with leftover cancerous tumor and nodes in my armpit).....Rick will test that theory for me. Oh and I plan on renting 50 shades of Gray while recouping too....and Phantom of the Opera....this is a test. This is only a test. Godamn Estrogen Cancer growing lust inciting shit had better be long gone....but can still appreciate a fine hunk of a man like Bradley Cooper the same way I'd appreciate an athletic horse, thundering waterfall, majestic forest....this is a test. This is only a test.

Yes. Bradley Cooper a fine specimen for.....test purposes. Haha.

Shorfi, glad to hear your injection went well.

And Katy, eye surgery is done! Are you enjoying the 20/25 vision? Thank you for the update on Gaia. I was wondering where she has been lately. I hope this surgery and radiation can get her back to her usual self again.

Jerseygirl, I had a cold midway through radiation. It was a nuisance, but didn't cause any problems for treatment. It sounds like you have fluid in your ears that is causing your vertigo. I'd tell you to try not to worry, but that always sounds so funny coming from me, since I worry about everything! Smile I agree with Ducky, so far setup has been the worst part of rads. My hands went numb and my arms hurt after lying in that position for so long. The treatments have been easy compared to that.

Pennsy, I know what you are going through. I used to take the same thing for anxiety, and I swore after I went through withdrawal I'd never take another SSRI, because I don't want to do that again. I had that "electric shock" feeling every time I moved quickly for weeks, despite tapering off of it slowly.

    Lolis, welcome!

Hello to Molly, Rainny, Ducky, Queenie, Iris, Octo, JAN, Tomboy, Blondie and all the quiet crazies who are out there reading. Thinking of you Slow, praying for good news.

1 rads down, 29 to go!!!!! Techs were lovely and only one little incidence of vertigo... slathered on my cream and now to rest... I woke at 4am and couldn't go back to sleep... laying in bed listening to the wind howl and roll around the farm until it was time to get up was actually restful, even if I didn't sleep...

Hugs to all of you precious people.... 7of9, I saw Rick Springfiled in concert nearly 32 years ago... it was great! Have fun! In your pocket for your surgery!
