Thank you all for the welcome. I love the laundry basket sled, looks like so much fun.

I am now on day 7 without Tamoxifen, still blurry but maybe not quite as much. I read Tamox has a 5 day half life so it will take 25 days to be out of my system. Of course if cataracts have started I don't think they reverse themselves? Hopefully the brain MRI on Friday will be clear.

I do have something called Normal Pressure Hydrocephalus, it was found when I fell on my head a couple years ago and had a CAT scan. Nothing further has been explored about that. I would think I would have bigger symptoms from that, but I truely do not know. I am hoping to just to go back to what is normal for me. I broke my back in a car wreck 2 1/2 years ago and still get bad pains if I try to walk more than room to room. I am a bit over whelmed by so many things going on so I most always just stay at home I take effexor 150 so I don't feel morose but I must be depressed. I enjoy television and have a husband who does what needs to be done like groceries and etc. I am trying to use the treadmill but am only up to two minutes so far. I am 70 and would really like to be able to do somethings with my 5 year old granddaughter. Thanks for being here crazy town. I will try not to write too much.

    Ginger

Ginger- don't worry about how much you write. Crazytown has a marvelous natural suspension system which keeps the vibe positive, despite individually expressed crazy-ness. Meaning, rant on sista, we are here for you. Hugs.

Ladies...I think I'm going to take a break from the boards. IDK...seems like I'm in such a dark hole lately. I've done this before...taking a break. I hate reading the bad news about our fellow crazies...7of 9, Beppy and others I've read on other posts. Knowing my crazy self I'll be back soon. You ladies have shown me so much love and compassion during some of my craziest moments. And I love you all for that😍😘. Katy, Ducky, Sula, Rainy, Slow, Proud, Tomboy and the other crazy who mentioned he good results her husband had with his back surgery.

I just got the worse news yesterday with s friend of mine who is fighting colon cancer. Diagnosed from the beginning at stage IV with extensive lymph node involvement. She is only 53 and she has recurred for the 4th time in 2 years. I just want a breather from cancer. Please forgive me for being self absorbed.

I don't mind keeping in touch...Katy I gave you my cell number. I will PM you again with it.

I love you guys so much😘😍🌷

Shorfi, if you are still here, I totally understand. Just lost a dear uncle last night, have a friend in hospice and four other friends being treated. Everytime I see a Big C drug commercial or a TV show I have to change the channel. I really hate it so much . . . Maybe we could start posting our "most hilarious moment of the day" here and try to get each other laughing. Anyone been watching the football games today? I think those Panthers are probably going to win the super bowl, they are FORMIDABLE.

Most recent humorous moment, happened a few days ago though:

During a long visit at a nursing home, I got hungry. So purchased a Cup O Noodles at the snackbar. They sent me down the hall to a nursing station for hot water. But they wouldn't let me use their little spigot. Instead, they poured me ice water from a pitcher and pointed me to a microwave. The microwave didn't have the glass tray in it, so there was no level place to set my soup. Along the way to another microwave on the other side of the building, I read the instructions on the cup, and it says to pour the contents into a microwave safe bowl. Of course, the styrofoam cup will melt, I should have known that! So I go to the kitchen and every single cup and bowl they have says "not microwave safe." So I go back to the snack bar with my cold soup, and they went to the kitchen and brought me one of the plastic cups that says "Do not microwave" -- which apparently they microwave all day long! I tell them no thanks. So then they go to the admin office and bring me back . . . a styrofoam cup! You can't make this up. I gave my husband the cold nasty cup of dried noodles with little shrimps floating in it and bought a Snickers that said "Goofball" instead. TRUE STORY!

Eggroll - yuck! That is nuts! The snickers sounds perfect though.

Shorfi - take care of you. I hope you find your way back into the light, out of the hole etc...

7 - so sorry the news wasn't what you were hoping for. Hope you have a game plan in place soon.

My "oops/haha" moment came last night. I was talking with my daughter, who is having UTI and other lady issues. I said to her...."I am running out of female parts, all I have left is one breast." She quickly replied, "Mom, you still have your vagina." I had completely forgotten about that...I think I may have just lumped it in with my hyst/ooph. Not really sure.....but duh!!! Can I even honestly blame that on chemo brain?!? Shocked

Rainny, those are beautiful pictures, provided you don't have to shovel out any of those cars!

Ducky, the laundry basket sled looks like fun!

Ginger, we are in your pocket for your scan on Friday.

Shorfi, take a break if you need to. I've been feeling down myself, worried about a lot of things these days. I have an old friend who was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer recently. We are hoping they caught it early, but it does seem like cancer is everywhere these days. Sometimes you have to step away and remind yourself there is more out in the world.

Eggroll, Good Grief, why couldn't somebody just give you a cup of hot water from the spigot, even if they wouldn't let you use it yourself? They are the goofballs. I've been wondering about those nickers bars - are you supposed to combine them with one of those personalized Coke cans to send someone a message? Like, share a Coke with a goofball?

Seven, let us know when you find out what treatment you will be getting - that will probably be this week, right?

Slow, I'm hoping for good news this week, and thinking of you.

Hi, to Italychick, Jerseygirl, Lucy, Iris, Molly, Katy, and our quiet Crazies.

(((shorfi))) I take breaks when I go to the dark place sometimes. Robin, oh my goodness I was laughing so hard at your story because I was nodding my head thinking Yes I only have one breast and no other lady parts too!! 7of9, I hope you have a plan in place soon.

I was so excited to watch the episode tonight, Italychick! But man is it my imagination or is Fox Mulder starting to look like Walter Matthau? I was shocked how much he has aged or degenerated or whatever is happening to him. Maybe that was for the show, to make him seem edgier. But it was fun to reminisce and have them back together again!

Morning all, sun shinning and my back seems ok today.

Sorry to all in those dark places, i feel close to that some days myself but so far been able to stay upstaires. Think that is because I life alone and just have no one to pull me up.

I was told that I had hydrocephalus years ago after a vertigo episode.one doc wanted to do brain surgery but second opinion doc said it was normal and ok but to follow up which I have not. Likely That is partly why I have such shit balance.

I think it is fine to take a break when needed but hope for all it will be brief for folks.

Love and caring thoughts to all

QMC- snorted my coffee about the relationship between lady parts and brain.

I've known an awful lot of men with that condition in my life. That is, brains in their man parts.

    Hi Everyone,

I took a break from crazy town to go to Paris with Riverside's All Star Marching Band. My middle boy plays saxophone. It was a fantastic experience.

    Here's a photo of us.

Poppy, what wonderful pictures! Those memories will stay with both of you forever.

Eggroll, I hope you enjoyed every bite of that snickers bar. Honestly!

Robin, I think lady parts are whatever we want them to be. I'm with Queen in thinking the brain is one, too.

Crazies, I had a crazy, only-in-breast-cancer-land moment today. My journey took me past a local university with a sculpture garden, which included a 15-feet-tall stone bust of a woman's head. She has hair pulled back into a bun, but it's not visible from the front. As I walked towards her, I noted the sleek cap of snow on her head, and found myself thinking, "hmm, about 2 months post final chemo." Clearly, I need a change of scenery! Or possibly something new to think about.

Non BC rant: I get emails from the College Board because DS is a high school junior and took the SATs. So....why are they sending me ungrammatical emails? I mean, these are the folks who can determine the entire course of my child's future, and they're sending me poorly-written emails with pronoun agreement issues?

    Runs screaming into the night....

Hope all are well and pain free, whether noisy or quiet crazies. Hugs, chocolate, and good red wine to all....

Poppy- What great photos and memories! Looks like January is a good time to visit Versailles! Hardly any people! Welcome back. We missed you.

Rainny- I hate those grammar and punctuation issues. I fantasized the other day calling an accounting and tax firm with an electronic billboard soliciting business which included "the dreaded errant apostrophe". It was an orphan, with no home there. Signifying ownership when there was only plurality. But why? I wanted to call them up and advise I could never use professional services who abused punctuation in flat fragrance of punctuation protection rights. (known by me as PPR) BAAAHAHAHA !!!!!

Of course, I triple-checked this post for PPR as it is most embarrassing when caught "en flagrantly delicto" oneself, usually unwittingly at the hand of an overreaching and dangerously ambitious spell checker.

Here was Jack's and my destination today, unmarred by billboards.

I can vouch for Versailles in the winter (was there in Feb not January)....love the pics!

I will catch up after my weekend away and doc apt today and post more later...but did want to chime in since you were at the beach Katy: there is a video making the rounds on FB etc about a sneaker wave that overtook a beach near your neck of the woods: have you seen it? I am sure Jack could have outrun it, but not sure you or I could....

    Hugs to all

Poppy, what an awesome trip! So cool that your son plays the saxophone, one of my favorite instruments.

Rainny, that statue is a sign you need to think about something else, all right! I think we all need a break. I work for a school, and I'm always embarrassed if we have a punctuation, spelling, or grammatical error slip by us. They do happen once in a while. I always correct them quickly if they are on our website.

My back is bothering me again after sitting on the floor at work today. Medicating with one of those little one dollar Hagen-Dazs chocolate ice cream cups.

Octo- yes I saw the video. It was taken quite close to that spot where we were today.

I doubt I could have outrun it. I encountered a sneaker wave when I first moved to Oregon. I was on a deserted beach which was unfamiliar to me. It was nearing sundown and I kept Jack on the leash. I was watching where I was walking, careful to stay above the wave wash mark on the sand. The next thing I knew I was on all fours. Jack, all 16 pounds of him, bravely braced like a stubborn donkey on the uphill side and kept me from who knows what.

As soon as I captured my wits, I ran to high ground, checking my pockets for cell phone, check! Keys? Keys? WTF? They had been forced out of my deep pockets and were already mostly buried in the sand. I could see where I'd fallen, which was being quickly erased by the retreating water, and there was a tiny bit of a flourescent piece sticking out. I ran, grabbed them and ran back to my car.

I was quite shaken up. I had assumed sneaker waves were high. They can be quite low but are immensely powerful, and do not share a pattern with their brethren. I could feel as soon as I had been knocked down that the sea was trying to take me.

I only went to that beach one other time, to hunt agates. Many people have died on that beach, or should I say "last seen" on that beach. But alas, it wasn't my turn that day. Little did I know I'd had a reservation already made on my behalf for the breast cancer ball, and that I'd be dancing with a guy named NED!
