7 0f 9 I am sorry to hear your news. Now you will be able to determine your next steps. That has always helped me, just to know what to do next can be a comfort. Me I am Gingerbrew, I have been around since 2010. I have been on Tamoxifen even though I am as old as dirt, 70! The other AI's gave me serious side effects but Tamox just thinning hair mostly. I was tolerating it well until last Staurday when my vision got blurry and I see double especially where there are lights. So I emailed my Onc and now I am off of Tamox and have a brain MRI scheduled for next Friday. I really do not want anything else to be wrong, especially with my bbrain, it scares me alot. I always feel even if I can't walk and such and am wobbly I can still think and see. Now I am getting scared.

I had a broken back two and a half years ago so my back hurts a lot when I walk, sitting is easyt and so is laying down. I am using the treadmill a tiny bit trying to walk, I have a five year old GD who spurs me on. So I am rambling here, I am glad I found a place to dump a little. I can't tell my husband too much he does everythingand I dont want to add to his worries.

Love to my new friends Ginger

Welcome from your new friends, Gingerbrew.

There's a welcome basket for newcomers, though I expect it may make more sense for those who've been following from the beginning--a hand mirror and penlight to examine hard to see spots, a wetwipe and toothbrush to handle chocolate smudges and sticky crackers....and a kitten, a Valium espresso with Ativan sprinkles, a dedicated room at the CrazyTown Inn complete with a transport tube for emergency food porn drives.

(Edit: newcomers to the group, that is.)

Wow, Honorary replacement mayor, QMC!!! Beppy better watch out! That's a job well done, how did you know I stuck a kitten into the medicine bag? Problem is, getting it to stay in there!

How did I know about the kitten? I admit nothing. Only that I'm (also) rather of the opinion that a fat 'n' sassy kitten might serve as a much-needed distraction for many teetering on the edge of CrazyTown.

Welcome Gingerbrew, you have a lot going on for someone so young. I hope the blurry vision is just from the tamoxifen.

Gingerbrew, I've heard Tamoxifen can cause blurry vision. I am hoping it is just that, and your MO is just being cautious by ordering the scans.

Seven, I was really hoping you wouldn't have more than the two nodes they were concerned about on the scans. Let us know if they recommend chemotherapy along with the radiation. I'm glad to hear they already started the hormonal therapy.

My back has been bothering me since moving some equipment yesterday. Obviously, I am in downtown Crazytown with this. Sure, I know what triggered it, but you guys know how it is. That's what I love about this place. I can admit I'm worried, and know you all can relate to my craziness.

Here's my anti-crazy antidote. These two goto great pains to make it appear they only tolerate each other. I just found them like this:

Bulletin from the storm: heavy snow still falling, maybe a foot so far. Very windy but not cold. Cars (parked on street) are buried. Streets are plowed and busses running (yea, Mayor de Blasio). Greenmarket farmers didn't come in, no surprise. Went out to the upscale butcher to find its shelves decimated. Bought a little lamb filet, will serve chopped and highly spiced on homemade hummus with swiss chard and pine nuts in some kind of greek yogurt/lemon sauce. (Yes indeed, I'm using the Jerusalem cookbook DH thoughtfully bought me for Xmas.)

DH and DS shoveling out the stoop, the sidewalk, and the car after their breakfast of blueberry pancakes (my contribution) and spam and eggs (DH's inspiration). After DS became addicted to Monty Python a year or so ago, DH bought a can of spam, which has stayed on the shelf in the kitchen. Until this morning. Lethal-looking stuff. DH fried it up with lots of pepper, cayenne and black. Couldn't quite bring myself to try it, but that's my shortcoming. Pancakes were good.

Happy snow day to fellow east coast crazies! Stay warm!

Proud, either of those soups sound wonderful!

Just spoke to one of my sisters (Maryland). 24 inches, and her DD has just made a chicken pot pie!

Katy, thank you for the hug. Of course Jack and Tutti pretend they only tolerate one another. A dog and cat have to keep up appearances, you know.

My back is feeling better this morning. Robin, those chocolate injections are just what we need for the Crazytown medicine bag!

Iris, you might be stranded until June if you wait for it to melt! We have a snowbank here that is still a major impediment to parking even after weeks of reasonable temperatures and nearly everything else melting. I can't believe the east is getting so much snow when its warm enough here to hit the car wash today.

Rainny, you were right to skip the spam. My brother has the funniest story about a camping trip he went on for the boy scouts that involved a lot of meals of spam and Velveeta. Everybody was so constipated! Smile

Cubbie: chocolate injections have been shortlsted for the updated CrazyTown Welcome Basket.

Rainny: ....what was I going to say? Too distracted by contemplating tinned meats. (I seem to recall it was considered a delicacy during rationing in Great Britain in/after WWII.)

Iris- soup sounds good! I might do chicken broth in a bit with some roasted bones I have.

Rainny- you should tell your son if he prepares them the special MP cafe "special" way you might try them (I'm thinking you can eat around it):

"Lobster Thermidor aux crevettes with a Mornay sauce, garnished with truffle pate, brandy, and a fried egg on top, and Spam".

Frankly, your dinner sounds genuinely inspired.

I am enjoying all the food talk. I have had to really work at figuring out how to lose the "tamoxifen 40," slowly. So the virtual meals help!

And this just happened on the way to Tombstone. Lol

I make pots of stuff for my grandkids, they eat it up. A new favorite is ground chicken, vegetable broth, yams and a bag of frozen mixed vegetables, and some herbs. It was absolutely delicious! And super super easy

The backhoe got stuck? Criminy. Weather's a funny thing, sez forum member from lake effect weather country. (Total snowfall's ranged from 60" tp 150" in the 20 years since I moved here.)

Well, "Snowmageddon" is done.... Hubby has been out with our tractor plowing driveways and helping the farmers in our area... Yesterday was blissfully spent making homemade soup, watching movies and generally relaxing. It was a beautiful thing to just hang out!

Hope all of my east coast sisters are fairing well, and staying warm.... Tomorrow should be fun driving to rads.... tralala

To all of you crazies, have a blessed day!
