Katy, Hmm...you like an old fashioned tea party? Think I might have some fabric with china tea cups. Or I just gave it away. I'm just now sewing binding down on the potholder made from a leftover quilt square from Beppy's quilt.

I finished my daughter's valentine quilt yesterday. Today I was ready to jump in to start a St Patrick's quilt for her entry area. I am holding off, or trying to, in case I'm getting a little carried away. She'd probably never tell me to stop my obsession of seasonal quilts, so I think I might have to control myself. Somehow.

Jersey, does your special friend have room for me to pull up a chair, too? We do need to get going on that cafe. Perhaps with a self serve pharmacy?

(draws Katy gently into the 'tea' room of CrazyTown) But no pressure to converse! I'll just be over here contemplating watercress-cucumber sandwiches.

Good evening, crazies...waving from the east coast!

Just returned from a quick visit to the elderly mum in NJ...all reasonably well and plowed out. DS and I shoveled the walk--felt really good to be doing things like that.

I just wanted to point out that the coffee/tea shop on the front porch in Crazytown is always open. There are divine, gentle breezes blowing and an adorable rickety shed that stocks a wide variety of fair trade caffeinated beverages from all over the world. A pot of fresh java is brewing next to a gently whistling teakettle with water heated to the perfect tea brewing temperature. I think someone also has a sweet little pot of thick, rich hot chocolate on the back burner. There are silver spoons, some dipped in chocolate, and an array of condiments for sprinkling on top of or stirring into your drinks, from cinnamon, rich fresh cream, lemon wedges, and various sugars to sprinkles of ativan and powdered valium, and jugs of ibuprofen, tylenol, and claritin. There is a strong wifi signal and unlimited, free streaming from netflix, amazon prime, and those other bootleg places that get interesting free stuff from overseas. The wicker rockers and carved wooden benches all come with comfy pillows. Some are arranged in circles for easy chat (anyone is welcome), but there are rocking chairs and recliners off to the side for anyone who just needs to be alone for a while. There is a hummingbird feeder and large planters of delightful flowers of all sorts. There is also a cabinet full of extra pillows for anyone who needs to prop up an ailing body part. And baked goods. Many, many baked goods.

    oh Rainny!!! 😂😂😂😂😂 wonderful. !!!!!

Tears for the hummingbird feeder. A talisman for me. I can't stop crying today.

Queen- 💗should we cut the crusts off or leave them on? I'm thinking if we get any Rainny bread I want the hearty crusts left on. I'll dig out some of my homemade strawberry jam and some butter and pile it on!

Robin- lovethe al fresco decor. My first thought was the mad hatter! Crazy hatter! That's me.

Robin, the wall paper might be on the fabric for some of the pillows, too. I love the cups! The Mad Hatter's portrait is hung on the side of the shed.

Forgot: there's a little fridge where they keep the whipped cream and the real cream. Also, there is a jar of homemade marshmallows. How could I forget that?

Katy, I want your strawberry jam! If you like, I'll bake some white bread; you can cut the crusts off that and we'll feed it to the goldfish in the pool just down the hill from the porch.

Rainny: wonderful. When can I move in? (sighs wistfully)

Katy: oh both ways, of course! that's the lovely thing about afternoon whatever we choose to call it. A selection of food. I'm with you on the hummingbirds; I've planted some orange-red honeysuckle, and the hummers LOVE it. Unfortunately, so do the aphids....

Robin: perfect decor--what else for CrazyTown? the wallpaper needn't be throughout.

Queen, I wouldn't be surprised if you could move in right now. Just walk up the steps and around the bookcase, the one with the collection of slightly battered but still quite readable paperbacks. Pour yourself a drink of something. Sink into a chair. Someone else will be along any minute!

.....there already. Are these the kind of paperbacks I can take into the bathtub, without worrying about dropping them?

speaking of which, I think there should be a hot tub at always just the right temp just off the porch...

would it be wrong to stash a few cold beers in the back of the fridge?

Such a long night last night taking care of DS last night. I hope you won't be offended by the lack of conversation. 7of9, I hope everything is okay. Sending hugs.

Molly, on the porch in CT one never has to feel like one needs to talk...rock yourself to sleep, or just chill in the recliner. Rocking with you, in quiet mode....

Rainny/octo: splendid. I'm the one in the hot tub with a book in front of my face. And a cold beer behind me on the tub surround.

Octo, hot tub, beers sound fine to me. In C-town, you do whatever you need (except hurt others) to feel better.

Molly, there's a nice chair all set up for you, complete with reading lamp and bookmark. No need to converse.

Queenie, I think I will join in the hot tub. It's winter carnival time at school, lots of extra work. My back is still a little tetchy, and all these boxes of books from the book fair are not helping.

Huh, what? says JerseyGirll as she looks up from the corner of the porch cafe, where she is nestled with her latte, novel, and blanky...

Could use you crazies in my pocket tomorrow. I have rads and then Herceptin infusion. Doc seems to think that the SEs I'm having on Herceptin are a figment of my imagination, since "they say" I shouldn't have any... Yet I had every SE known to man with chemo and even had to have a blood transfusion during chemo... ugh!

Snuggle in tight tonight, crazies, and enjoy time at the cafe...

Oh, Jersey. In your pocket as long as you're on dry land. In the hot tub I assume pockets are a nuisance. Let us know how it goes tomorrow.

Cubbie, I have done those book fair boxes. A soak and a cold beer should help immensely.

Molly, Queen: How are your books?

I'm lounging around on the porch tonight. DH and DS went to see The Revenant with my blessing. The preview was plenty for me. I've just rented Sense and Sensibility, which I last saw when it came out, about 20 years ago. Delicious. I am SUCH an anglophile.

    Good night!

Jerseygirl, we are in your pocket for your treatments tomorrow. If you hear sloshing, its the hot tub. 😃 I love it when doctors say it's not side effects, especially when you check the list of side effects and there are your symptoms!

7of9, hope everything is going OK with your treatment plan.

    Jersey- in your pocket!

Rainny- love that movie and just watched it again in honor of Alan Rickman's passing. He was so marvelous in it, and it shows such range from his evil characters, and of course, Snape.

Katy, that's why I watched it, too. Had completely forgotten about it. It's a lovely movie, and I especially enjoyed all the great character actors, like Imelda Staunton (Dolores Umbridge in Harry Potter) and Harriet Walter (the doctor who fixes up the wookie in the latest Star Wars movie and Lady Shackleton in Downton Abbey).

Molly, anglophilia is quite compatible with the tea shop/pub in Crazytown.

I watched Deathly Hallows part 1 and Love Actually to honor Alan Rickman. I need to watch Sense and Sensibility next. I think CT moved into our plumbing last night. DGS came to me with some wild story about the "poop" flushing by itself. I laughed it off as wild tales of preschoolers but it was actually the beginning of major plumbing problems. Ugh. Lots of cleaning up.

Rain- and Hugh Laurie! I had to check it! It was him. He is English, after all, though you'd never know it watching House.

Molly- so sorry about crazy, messy, plumbing problem! Agree Love Actually. Also a great Rickman plate. With a side order of Colin Firth! Can't go wrong there!

Jersey: hoping your herceptin/rads went well today. Katy's comment about Hugh Laurie in House reminded me of the wail in the fall rads forum, to the effect of "Why does my RO claim this isn't an effect of rads?" All I could think of was House's gravelly grouse, "It's never lupus."

Rainny: book's a bit soggy. Guess washing off latte/blackberry pie stains doesn't work....

    Good Morning Crazies!!

JerseyGirl, The crazies will be in your pocket today!! Please let us know how it goes when you can. Sorry you had such a rough time last week. I hope this week is better for you! I had to miss my last Herceptin infusion due to SE's.

Ducky, I've been thinking about you all weekend. Sending extra hugs to you this morning and holding you close in my heart. (((((((Ducky))))))

Jackbirdie, Hope the rest of your weekend went well. I found this picture just for you!! ((((((((Katy))))))))

Lucy, I REALLY wish you could come too. As you know, I Love Lucy was one of my favorite shows growing up. Who knew then, that I'd actually love a real lucy many years later!! :) I don't think I thank you enough for being such an awesome friend to me!! I LOVE the idea of a CT coffee shop!!!!

Robin, Thanks for the link! Very interesting reading.

QV, A tea room would be so amazing too!! Can we have a wine cellar too??? haha I must ask though, have you ever had a watercress-cucumber sandwich?????

JAN, I would LOVE to see your daughters quilt!! I bet it's amazing. Are you saying you're a quilt-a-holic???? What a great obsession to have!!. Self serving pharmacy. hahahahaha

Rainy, So sweet of you to shovel snow for your mom. Your description of the Crazy Town coffee/tea shop made me want to stay forever. Just lovely!! The bread and jam made my mouth water. I LOVED Sense and Sensibility - like you, it's been forever since I've seen the movie. Such a great idea to watch it again.

Octo, We think alike! haha.....I was looking for the wine cellar. Not that I drink much wine anymore, but it would be nice for the occasional drinker!!

    Tomboy, Hi..... ツ !!

Molly, No words are necessary. Just have a seat and relax. Enjoy that cup of tea!! Sorry to hear about the plumbing problems. I hope it gets resolved quickly with minimal expense.

Cubbie, The hot tub will fix your aches and pains. I think we should have a CT masseuse at our disposal too.

7, Sending best wishes to you!!

Gaia, Waving hi. I found these flowers for you.

    image

I always think of wild flowers when I hear your name. So today you get some blue bonnets.

Shorfi, Thinking of you!! Hope you're feeling better.

I had a busy weekend. I put everything on hold the past three weeks waiting for test results and opinions. My house looked like a tornado blew through. I decided to take this whole experience as a wake- up call. I need to move more and get my blood pressure down. I need to get the extra 50 treatment pounds off of me!!

Here is my DH's contribution to that endeavor. Salted caramel chocolate chip cookies.

    image

Then we went to my nieces birthday party last night. Her mom is a fabulous cook. This was our dinner. Minestrone, bacon soup in bread bowls.

    image

I forgot to take a picture of the cake.

As you can see, I have my work cut out for me. I need some will power vibes sent my way!!!

Waving to everyone I didn't mention. Love to all...quiet crazies too!!

P.S. This made me think of Crazy Town.
