Hello Crazies
I'm a lurker but you all help me so much without knowing it by posting. Hugs to all. I'm 16/33 rads. Since I'm TN that means end of treatment and I'm thrown into my own personal paranoia land.
Hugs to all. So sorry about Blondie. When I was first diagnosed her posts provided me with with such encouragement
Val.

Been craving Chinese food. Told hubby that on payday, I'm going to the store and getting what I need to make homemade Sweet and Sour Chicken. He likes my homemade Chinese cooking

rainy, I remember that chow mein on a bun--it was that canned gray Chun King or La Choy slop that luncheonettes near schools used to sell for their 50-cent weekly lunch hour special...and we kids even looked forward to it despite it bearing little resemblance to what we’d get at the Cantonese-American joints in our neighborhood. (A good Brooklyn Jewish neighborhood back then had more Cantonese restaurants than it did kosher delis). And I loved the softshell sandwiches--such a short season for them! But I also liked their bizarre version of a “lobster roll:” sort of warm pan-fried lobster mush on a burger bun. Never had the real thing till my first trip to New England at 15.
Back in the day, there was only one Nathan’s....and it was in Coney Island. The hot dog chain back then was Nedick’s (known for its orange drink)--long before Papaya King or Gray’s Papaya. Now they have Nathan’s in the airports, and you can buy their hot dogs in supermarkets nationwide. Speaking of fast food chains, anyone remember Zum Zum (German wursts, birch beer and real beer) or Chock Full O’ Nuts? Zum Zum hired only German immigrant counter staff. And Chock Full was known for putting real cream in its coffee--the default, unless you specified you wanted it black. It had those little sandwiches on ultra-thin-sliced bread (tuna or egg salad on wheat or white, and cream cheese & walnuts on raisin bread). It was a great allowance-stretcher when I was commuting to Brooklyn College in my teens.
Thrillist.com puts the Cyclones’ stadium at the top of the list of best minor league ballparks.

Ducky, I got sad & mad when you told us about walking,, & no-0ne waited or held your arm at least while walking. I don't live anywhere near my mother, and she is a piece of work it's true, - - - , but. When I am near her, I would never let her fall behind like that. Shame on them.
Hey, Val, welcome home
