Please add my name as well if I'm not too late. Know I haven't been in CT that long but it certainly gives me comfort and solace.
Seems we all have a lot going on. Hope the eye surgery goes well Sandy.
Glad the antibiotics are working on the UTI Iris.
I hardly slept a wink last night. Had my 12 month mammo and US yesterday and see the specialist for the results at 10.45 this morning. Was trying to read the techs expressions and the mammo seemed ok but she was doing a lot of "clicking" and maybe measuring during the US. Hoping she was being thorough and I'm reading too much into it. Will know in a few hours. Feeling teary and sick in the stomach.

Just checking in briefly to say the cataract surgery went well, but I am still in pain (took a nap earlier and when I woke, with the numbing drops worn off, I wanted to scream with every blink) and instructed not to do close reading--including the computer. So I will wish everyone well for now and be more specific once I get the go-ahead to resume my online activities. (I can't even read my e-mails without using a magnifying glass, since you can't zoom in on them like you can Web pages). Vision in right eye very blurry due to post-op swelling and a Niagara of tears--but due to the new lens being clear, colors are so saturated and bright that it hurts for now. Glasses (including those welders’ overglasses) don’t fit over the eye shield. Still doing everything left-eyed w/right eye closed. Have even earlier appt. for tomorrow[s followup (hopefully, they’ll prescribe some more lidocaine drops), so off to bed now.

ChiSandy - Take it easy and do as the doctor says - if you are reading this you aren't doing as the doctor says - get off now!

Hi Gma! You made me laugh, being so stern with Chi! You are right! I can't believe I am up this late, and I STILL didn't do everything I meant to do today. Melancholy, and thinking too much...

I don't know if I told you Tomboy (and ladies) about my PS visit last week - the doc didn't like the "looks" of the scar he revised, in May, with steroids and told me that it wasn't working. Then told me he was done and wasn't going to revise my right scar. That put me in a melancholy mood too. I find that the burning pain is gone with that last revision even though the scar isn't "pretty".
I took 2 hours yesterday and wrote him a letter telling him I disagree with him and feel the whole thing was a success. That I was on multiple pain meds and a couch potato when I first came to him and asked if it was possible to get rid of the major nerve pain in the right breast. There was a chance and I took it. - NOW - I am not on major pain meds and I am exercising, able to do daily chores and play with my grandkids.. I call that a success - Hoping that he might rethink - his "unsuccessful" revision with steroid. I still hope he will revise the other side the same way. But if not, I will live with it. I have done all the scar healing treatments to no avail. Last hope is my acupuncturist gave me a recipe to concoct that has healing properties. It is spendy and my DH might be out of work starting next month, so trying to find the essential oils a bit cheaper.
I look at all you ladies have gone through and feel I shouldn't have a "pity party" - So I will try again today to "buck up" and be positive. DH said he would mail Beppy's present on fast ship today .

So I had a Left stereotactic biopsy today, 4th biopsy and 1 aspiration on the left. Doc took 18 samples. Some were so deep almost flew off the table but knew if I said anything they would have to take out the thing that grabs the tissue and numb me up more, then continue, so I just said was ok because was near. end of the procedure anyway. Now home on ice and Tylenol. And the worse part is waiting for the results.
So two questions: anyone ever have that many samples taken? And how many biops do I have to go they till someone finally figures out what is going on?
And you guys were in my pocket the whole time. Great to have a place to blow off steam

My eye is much better today. Surgeon says to use the shield only for sleep or in the shower--no shampooing for awhile except by my hairdresser (who has the right stuff that won't strip the keratin out of my hair). I had my follow-up today and was able to keep my eye open while riding in the car (the special shades fit over the shield). And the pain pretty much stopped when he applied a lidocaine drop. (Too bad I can't use it all the time, since it can destroy the cornea if used more than once in a blue moon). I can also start using the NSAID, steroid & antibiotic drops, which helped pretty quickly too. Turns out the pain was from a couple of tiny blisters on my cornea (it figures--I get blisters on my feet all the time, and I'm a seroma-former) which should resolve with the drops. Therefore, no contacts, ever. My acuity (sharpness) in the "new" eye isn't there yet (have to wait till the swelling goes down to drive and I do still look like hell)--but the lens is much clearer and everything looks more vivid and 3-D. By comparison, the acuity in the left eye is still a little sharper (which is why I can type this) but everything out of that eye looks like it has a yellowish haze, like smog, over it. Guess you could say the right eye is blurry but the left eye is foggy. It'll be 3 more weeks till the swelling is down enough to refract that eye for reading correction--right now it's at about 20/80 (had been 20/40 before the cataract ripened), same as the left. And there is no astigmatism--I just put on a pair of drugstore readers and a square grid looks square, not like a rhombus or trapezoid. Can probably drive in a couple of days.
cwp, jumping back into your pocket for good biopsy results. GMA, has Bio-Oil or Mederma been able to help with the scar?
0 -
CWP, the place where my tumor was they couldn't do a biopsy. They had to just do the lumpectomy. Guess I'm no help. But the should know with that many samples!
Chi Sandy, I'm allergic to lavender and it is in the Bio-Oil. Mederma gave me a rash. That is one reason I started using the scar-away tape - it for some reason doesn't irritate me. I'm allergic to adhesives but the silicone doesn't seem to cause issues.

Package to Beppy should arrive on Monday...

I'm so curious,Gma, did you take a picture so we can see it ,after Beppy does of course?
0 -
Yup with all your names surrounding it . I took about 10 different views of it LOL.
Oh I got a response from the doctor:
"Hello Mrs. Foley, thanks for your kind consideration. I am uncertain if revising the right side would be of benefit, but if you are adamant you would like to try, I would consider it again but only after several months of observation. If you still have burning discomfort after December, I would be willing to consider office based excision of the right side. Just let us know in December and we can take it from there."

Hi all...
I just wanted to jump in with the latest in my own chapter, and ask for your good thoughts if I am MIA for a week or so. On Tuesday night my sister's husband fell off of a ladder and fractured his skull. He died very early Wednesday am. I am with my sister (in Reno) and we are making arrangements for the service on Saturday. I can't imagine losing my husband so suddenly. Sis is doing pretty well. He also leaves two sons, and lots of siblings.
I am ok, just sad and stressed and don't have much time to keep up with all of you. Thank you G'ma for taking the lead on Bebby's present. And that you all for everything.
Love.
Octogirl

Octo, hugs to you, your sister and nephews in your time of sudden grief & stress. This is the second time this year a fall from a ladder has bereaved one of our BCO sisters or their families. May your BIL’s memory be for a blessing. (And don’t let anybody tell you to try and make sense of it all.....life can be so cruelly random and senseless). We are here with and for you.

Oh Octo I'm so very sorry to read of your Brother in Law's sudden passing.
Thinking of your family at this terribly difficult time. Hugs.

Octo: So sorry for your loss. Sending prayers your way.
