wow weather is lovely. My retirement day, well bosses never believed i had enough money or mguts i guess to retire. They started cutting my pay the last few months as my sales had fallen off. I was selling printing and mailing services which is not really a growing thing I kept telling them i was leaving at 65 but when they cut my pay......i walked i one day and said no more,
Amazing though, much cheaper to live in retirement as no commuting expense and all things fun.
Must stopnow, bought myself a toy, a lazy boy recliner and it is due this am.

Ducky, $100.00 Co pay? Who's going to pay that? I am so red. The TX really hurt this time. Not sure I want to do this again. My other option is chemo cream I apply for three weeks at home. I chose this because it's days instead of weeks of irritation.

sorry for the soreness Molly; that doesn't sound like fun at all...
did grocery shopping this am and now I am tired again. Sigh. so much to do around here.....

Rainy.....very good school....suburban setting, yet close to the city.......excellent reputation.....expensive, live most private colleges, but a great school......
My grandson goes to the University of the Sciences in Philly...excellent school too.....very hard though...he has all sciences....going for Pharm D, with an eventually doing Pharma Research......he works his but off, and has 3 turtors....just finishing up his freshman year....he was carrying a 3.5 GPA.......not sure now.....but you need a 3.0 to stay, less then that you are asked to leave....so its not easy ......good luck....hope you son likes Haverford......

Ducky, I'm so glad your grandson is doing well in college! Sounds like he's doing very well, actually! I remember you posting about him last year. My son is not definitely going to Haverford. It's one of the schools he's gotten into, but as you say, it's pretty expensive. We're going to visit it again, and one other, and he'll make up his mind sometime in the next couple of weeks. Thank goodness for financial aid!
Lucy, love your beach! How beautiful.
Waving to all crazies....

forgot to check the mail until late tonight. and should have checked it earlier: got a letter telling me that the skin biopsy results are b9: no further action needed. yay for that! (they had told me they would call with bad news, just send the letter with good....so was happy to see their letterhead in the mail box!). One less thing to worry about.
Good luck on the college decisions Rain...and love the beach pic Lucy!
Hugs to all

Octogirl, yay b9! I'm glad you have one less thing to worry about. You have enough on your hands as it is.
Lucy, beautiful beach picture! Hopefully I get to see it in person! DH is up to his eyeballs in work right now but I'm hoping he gives me some dates to work with once his meetings are all over with.
Rain, good luck on the college trip, hopefully your DS will make his decision soon 😊
Hellos, hugs and a lot of love to all

Rainy as you saw.....Haverford is a real "city area school"......however it has a great reputation......I just wish him good luck wherever he goes.....
Yes my grandson is doing great...but Rain, that iw with 3 tutors...constand studying....compounded by him being a perfectionist...he has all science courses, and is carrying 18 credits....going to go to school again during the summer....not sure for how long the summer course is....what other schools has your son looked at.....and what is his major........Another grandson went to Carnagie Mellon in Pittsburgh.....and another wn tto Penn State Main campus.....we also did Franklin and Marshall for 2 others.....and Temple University for 2 more....then twin girls who both graduated from Penn State Main...............LOL.......None fo mine got finanacial aid.......but some did get Academic money........most of them carried 3.5-4.0 GPa's which helped...but when your in a $50,000 University its not much, but better then nothing.....0 -
Happy Easter & Passover (one more day!) to all who celebrate—and happy mid-Spring to those who don’t. Had a fantastic—but too-short—trip to London last week, still jet-lagged. Brunch yesterday at the top of the Hancock—perfect weather, gorgeous view. (Cold now, but will warm up again tomorrow).
IMHO, one can never visit Paris too often. (Been 7 times and could go back again in a heartbeat). Also Rome—2 visits barely scratched the surface.
My trip to L.A. has been postponed till Aug. 5—the only date enough music nominees could make it in order to be financially viable. (No sponsorship for the JustPlainFolks Music Awards, so ticket sales will have to cover the banquet. The whole submission & judging process is totally volunteer-driven). Just as well—wasn’t ready to pack up and travel cross-country in just 2 wks. Next big trip is a driving one: SERFA folk music conf. at Montreat, NC (an hour e. of Asheville) in mid-May. I flew last year, but I really do love the drive through the Smokies & Blue Ridge. Had to fly last year, as I did a benefit concert in Hickory (bet. Montreat & Charlotte) and the drive back to Chicago would have taken too long. Then June 3 is Bob’s 50th HS reunion on L.I. (we’ll fly to that one—combine it with visits to the family gravesites in Flushing & Farmingdale and the wineries on the N.Fork, then a few days at our midtown-Manhattan timeshare).

MOs/protocols differ it seems. For me after my bmx and regimin, I'm on the every 3 mo visit with MO for 5-6 years then every 6 mo for awhile and then once a year for life. With BS it's every 6 mo for 5 years then once a year for life. PS after my 1 year out from implants it will be once a year for life. They are all spaced out during the year. Routine labs. No scans unless I present with symptoms. Currently have lower abdominal pain that comes and goes- some days it's almost not there while others it sure is. 5/1 pelvic u/s to determine if Tamox is irritating or growing my 4 uterine fibroids (2 are 3 cm each, other 2 are a bit over 1 cm each) or if the less likely is happening with uterine or endometrial cancer. Pcp will see me more than once a year. So far I'm on the every 4 mo visit unless I have an issue. She's not as scheduled as the other docs are. I have high liver enzymes and being I'm obese, she's keeping a closer eye on me.
I hate when people tell me the worst is over. Is it? I was more at peace on active txs than I am now with not being able to handle the AIs and having to resort to Tamox in menopause and the se's which you wonder is it recurrence?? mets?? It's not over until you die of something else, imo- but I do try not to think about it every day.

Artista, my MO's office called me today to move my f/u appointment up a few weeks. I'm hoping I get a better idea as what needs to be done as far as appointments go. It's just frustrating to wait to get everything set up.
I can't believe how fast my skin has healed up and new skin is back all over. The color has returned to normal and back to normal texture so soon after radiation. Upwards and onwards!
Waving hello to everyone

Hugs to all!!!!

Wench, I was also surprised and pleased how quickly my skin healed post rads...even though it was pretty bad in a few spots. Hope you get a follow up plan in place quickly!
0 -
I did great with Rads.....38 treatments, including 8 boosts........wish I could say the same about the AI which was Letrozole, after Femara put me in the donut hole.....and actually did better on Letrozole....not one problem with Rads.......other then for 2 weeks after it was over, I got quite fatigued, but that passed too........I know it probably does something to you physically.....how could it not....but the Al's were brutal.......as I said after 4 years I stopped it....

Molly, that does not sound like fun. I just got back from having my stitches removed, ouch! The dermatologist wants to see me back again in six weeks to see how it's healing. I have the MO checkup this afternoon, too.
Things have been a bit stressful at work - one of my co-workers had to have a follow-up ultrasound for what we are hoping is a cyst. She'll see the doctor next week. It sucks that they make you wait so long.
0 -
That waiting is ridiculous.....I never waited because I pitched a fit, and they would have it to me in 1 to 2 days...I would say "if its important enough for you to make me come back, then I'm important enough for you to get the result right away"........then I would ask for a supervisor......always go a result....the next day or 2.........gotta take into consideration the fact that my facility is a Breast Cancer Center, and they have 3 radiologists check your results.....2 have to agree on the findings..
0 -
Good for you, Ducky. You're right, if it's important enough for you to come back, they ought to be able to do it sooner. I think the problem locally is that the radiologist really is that busy. We need more doctors here.
My MO's office called a while ago - he is going home sick! Can you believe it? I had to reschedule my checkup for Thursday.
0 -
I think it's responsible of him to go home if he's sick. Cancer people have compromised immune system so I wouldn't want to chance getting sick on top.
0 -
Oh yes, he should definitely go home. I just meant, can you believe my luck? I've been waiting over a week for my lab and xray results, and now I have to wait two more days.

Cubbie, you don't get your results in a patient portal? I usually have mine before my appointment. Well my face is peeling and looks awful despite lotion, two layers of sunscreen and make up. Ick. I probably frighten everyone here at work but they are polite.
0 -
Also agree on the test results.....once they are in you have a right to the result no matter who goes home sick....right he should not be in the office , but he can leave instructions on giving the information to the patient....suppose he goes home and dies (just saying) who is gonna tell you then........really think about it that way.....sounds cruel right......but my sanity depends on what I am waiting to hear.....I'm not nice when it comes to my health reports, or what as the patient I am entitled to know, and when.......guess I sound like a bitch........if I do, I guess I am......but it gets results......you have to be your own advocate......your just another patient in the appt. book, no matter how good they are, or how nice they treat you at the office visit.....
0 -
Molly, I know what you mean about scaring people. I have a wide red line with stitch marks left from this morning's procedure, and children keep asking me what happened. The adults are just too polite to ask.
My MO doesn't have a patient portal. The hospital system does, but not the MO's office. I suppose if I called back and pushed the issue they might be able to have the nurse practitioner to call me back. I don't really want to stir things up that much, though.
0 -
Cubbie..your not stirring things up.....your asking for you rights as a patient to have your results in a reasonable amount of time....especially if the results are sitting there in the office.........
