lucy...... jersey is actually dry now! Funny, i always keep a bottle of vino in the house, then again i am insecure and need to have 6 cans of tuna in the house at all times even if i do not eat it more than once a month.

Does this mean I am wierd? Dont answer!

It snowed again here last night! Some years I have had to mow the grass by mid April, today I had to get my snow boots back out.

I've been worried about my cough lately. I've struggled with a recurring cough for years, even before I was diagnosed. I go through weeks of coughing fits and awful throat clearing. I finally got tested for asthma a couple of years ago, didn't have that, but they said I did have reflux and allergies (I have permanent post nasal drip and tested positive for allergy to dust).

I had to stop taking my reflux and allergy medications a while back though, when we were trying to eliminate drug interactions as a possible cause of my high blood pressure. So I returned to coughing, and the last few days I've had this sort of catch sometimes in the center of my upper chest when I inhale after coughing.

It was making me nervous, so I called my doctor, who is out of town it turns out, and booked solid when he comes back. The nurse sent me to urgent care, because she said she didn't want me to wait that long in case it was pneumonia. The NP at urgent care listed to my lungs and spent a lot of time examining me and taking my history. She says the cough still sounds like allergies and since I'm doing well on the latest blood pressure medication, to start up my allergy medication again.

I had a clear chest x-ray in January, and I have no shortness of breath or other symptoms, but I still worry.

oh Cubbie, sorry you are dealing with the cronic cough. I have way too many allergies and asthma. When i get that post nasal drip thing, i take muscinch. Ok so i cant spell it but it is sold otc and had serious post nasal drip and ent even wanted to do some sort of surgery, i said no and then someone told me about the muscinch stuff, magic. Well today i head to sloan for a short visit.

Awesome, Octo! Do they give you a graduation cap? Happy

I called my regular doctor today because I'm still worried about the rattle that I sometimes have when inhaling with this cough. I don't remember having anything like this before. He didn't want to see me, but wanted to prescribe an inhaler. However, most asthma medications are off the table with Lupron because of interactions, including the one he suggested. He said to call next week if it still isn't any better.

Find a seat and just enjoy the fresh air, Iris. Spring always seems like a good time to take a book outside and relax.

Of course, at my house, spring means cleanup time. It is finally a decent day here, so it's time to pickup up pinecones and rake out last year's daylilies and blue flags. I've got four trash bags full already.

I had a condo years ago. It was nice having the snow cleared by someone else, I'll admit.

I hope you were able to get your doctor appointments made. My GP still can't get me in for my cough. His nurse said I should call the pulmonologist who tested me for asthma a couple of years ago. I called his office, and his nurse says he doesn't have time to see me either. She said she'd have the practice manager call me back. I didn't hear back from her. I expect if the practice manager does call me back, she will tell me to call my GP.

    Lovely photos ducky!

Hope you enjoyed your lunch, Lucy.. and hope you both get all your doc apts made, Cubbie and Iris! and Cubbie, sorry you are getting the run around...

ok, crazies, can I rant about something that is making me crazy, even if it is very petty and not bc related? Here goes: this weekend I am going to a family wedding out of town. Dress is fancy/dressy/semi-formal. I didn't want to buy a new dress, but thankfully I have a two piece dress that I wore to another wedding that would be perfect..so, a week ago I took it to drycleaner. They told me it would be ready the next Wednesday, but I didn't make it in until this past Friday, two days later. Sheath part of dress was ready, but they told me the jacket/top part wouldn't be ready till Monday. ok, I was nice, said it wasn't a problem: until I went in today and was told by owner he didn't think it would be ready until tomorrow but he wasn't sure, and to come back tomorrow to check with his assistant...grrr...did they lose the jacket?

I am frantically going through my closet to see what backups I have (I can't wear the dress without the jacket top). I am too broke right now to be buying another dress, and I hate to shop on short notice anyway. I have two options: one is just a bit too small/tight and almost floor length, which I think is a little too long/too formal...and the other is just right in terms of fit, color and formality: EXCEPT that it goes just to the knees, and the LAST thing I want to wear two months after total knee replacement is something that shows my scars! Sigh. They'd better find and clean my dress jacket by tomorrow or I will be one unhappy camper!

I will try now to breathe deeply and put it all in perspective: I am sure it will be a lovely wedding and no one will be paying all that much attention to me, as aunt of the bride, anyway, right?

    Thanks for letting me rant.

My "formal uniform" is black palazzo pants, an embellished shell, and a jacket--either sheer for warm weather or a velvet swing jacket in winter. No pantyhose--knee highs (or in summer, barefoot beneath my sandals). Orthopedic dress shoes or sandals. No heels--not worth the discomfort or danger. For daytime, I have a couple of shimmery Chicos 3-pc pants ensembles in bronze or silver. At my age I don't give a rat's ass if the other doctors' wives whisper "how many times has she worn that?"

Octo ..Good Grief !! I hope your jacket does turn up in one piece when you go to get it !!! Hmm....Have they "misplaced" it ...hoping it will turn up in time ....or having it repaired maybe 😱😯....???... Hopefully I'm just being suspicious...but often , when you smell a rat there's a reason !!!!!

Iris ..How lovely to have the gardening done for you ..you can just sit back and enjoy it !!!

Cubbie ..hope you can get your doctor's appointment sorted soon !

ooh. Octo, have you nicely told the cleaner that you MUST have your outfit for a wedding? Then again, guess it does sound suspect.

Playing around with dif creams for my sore feet, last night i creamed all over and did not wear the socks like i had been. Think they look better, course i have a ton of dif creams now, oh well, worse things but since this chemo is working, got to learn how to work the side effect

glad the creams help and even better that the chemo is working, Iris!

So, the drycleaning saga continues...yes, I had left a message last night saying I need the dress for the wedding this weekend. Sure enough, head there this afternoon while out running errands, and owner is not there, BUT assistant is, and she got a deer in the headlights look when she realized who I was....She told me I'd have to come back 'later' or 'tomorrow' when the owner was there as she 'knew' the dress jacket had been cleaned but didn't know where it was...

At this point I told her that I was NOT going to keep coming back the next day and I wanted it back regardless of whether it had been cleaned. I told her if I didn't get it before I left the shop I would assume it was lost and we'd need to discuss compensation. She responded that she could look for it but it would probably take a 'really long time'. 'Fine, I can wait' I said, sitting down in the only chair....

So,,,she came less than two minutes later, said she had found it and it was being steamed and would be out in just a minute. A minute later she goes back, gets it, and brings it back. Yay!!! Until she said, 'there is still a spot, shall I leave it for the the owner to try and get out?'..

Well, this cleaner ALWAYS checks for spots and notes on the ticket if there is one (which isn't noted on my ticket)...and I know there was no spot when I brought it in. I pointed that out but told her I wasn't letting it back out of my sight and took it (had already paid). Frankly the spot looks like fresh dirt. Brought the jacket home and after testing a small bit of it in back I am trying Shout. I suspect that will work. Whether it does or not, at least I have the darn thing. Sad to think the cleaner probably lied to avoid fessing up.....

and yeah, Sandy, I need a standard 'costume', not that I go to many formal events...
