lucy, hmmmmm, disposible may be the key! Hate to give up on broiling ! It makes cooking so much simplier!
See i need you guys to point out the best way! Hope you have a lovely Tea!

At work we use a long handled brush to scrub our lunchroom dishes. Not sure how you hold onto the pan with the other hand though, and still keep out of the water. Maybe some of those heavy aluminum foil pans would work better. They come in all sorts of sizes now, and are as close to a disposable pan as it gets. Would work for the oven, anyway! Almost anything comes off of you soak it long enough, too. Work smarter, not harder!
Lucy, we won't tell anyone you didn't really make those!

Iris, get a long-handled dish brush or scrubber/soap dispenser so you needn't touch the hot water. Washing the dishes or pots & pans under running water may not be "green," but your health is paramount--you aren't going to singlehandedly ruin the earth (nor add to the damage even incrementally).

good ideas, well got a meeting at bank to talk about couple things then onto manicure
It looks great outside so thinking of tea on deck!

Iris ...A manicure ..then tea on the deck sounds good to me !...a meeting at the bank ..not so much ... whenever we have to go always reminds me of waiting outside the principals office at school .. 🙄
Off to get our flu shots this morning..We always get them ...and they say the flu is meant to be pretty bad this year ...

hmmm, got new credit card with better fringes, not sure yet if will use it but, will see, spent lunch at coast gazing at the fishing boats, i always feel good out there and like getting seafood lunch, cruising for afternoon

Sounds like a good afternoon, Iris.
Lucy, the flu shot is a good idea. It was a rough flu season here in the northern hemisphere.
I talked to the pulmonologist's office again yesterday to make sure I was really on the waiting list. After a bunch of confusion with someone who said I wasn't even a patient there anymore, they finally apologized for the mix up and got me an appointment on the 25th. I'm hoping these new medications will make the difference for my cough, but if they don't, I think I'd rather have the pulmonologist take it from here.

oh Cubbie, so sorry you are having such crazy stuff with doctor visits. Confess i am lucky as my primary care doc is a pulmanary specialist. When i first went to her i had bunches of breathing issues, she put me on the right meds to get it all under control. I take Advair and singular and zyrtec every day. And since i know i am alergic to nsaids, well i am very careful.
Wanna come to Jersey to visit my doc? *& she s great

Cubbie ..gosh ..thank goodness they finally sorted out an appointment time for you !!! It's unbelievable what a mess they made of something so simple !!
Iris ..hope you enjoyed your lunch at the coast ...sounds good to me !!
Hugs to all

Iris, I thought I might have to go as far as New Jersey to get an appointment! I love Advair, used to take that stuff years ago and it always sorted me right out. But I was paying for it out of pocket because insurance wouldn't cover it, and I don't have that kind of money anymore. I haven't tried Zyrtec, but I have had Claritin and Allegra. I might try Zyrtec next.

yeah, i know advair is expensive, no generic version which annoys me but when i skip it, i sure do know it. So sounds like you are a long term sufferer.
Glad you finally got appt. Yeah, one oof my pals takes the same breathing stuff. Zyrtec works for me but the Walgreens generic version doesnt but tons of coupons in newspapers so it gets pretty reasonable

If you have insurance that isn’t Federally-subsidized (I.e., you’re not on Medicare, Medicaid or Fed. Employee plans), you are eligible for drug mfrs.’ co-pay coupons that can drastically reduce prices. There may be one for Advair; my son has asthma and BCBS, and with a co-pay coupon pays zero for Symbicort. I tried Advair once—it cleared my lungs but began to weaken my vocal cords, which is a dealbreaker for a singer. But I do take generic Zyrtec (broader-spectrum than loratidine, generic Claritin) and montelukast (generic Singulair). I carry a Ventolin inhaler for good luck...and need it only on very high pollen-count days or when I have a chest cold

once you have a pulmonary specialist they should be able toget you a good combo of meds but i remember when i was trying to find the right doc to deal with the weakness in my legs, mano but i chased around with way too many docs

Iris ..I know the feeling of chasing too many doctors ..when I was 30 I had bad pains periodically in rib cage , abdominal discomfort, and backache ...I chased desperately around 3 different doctors ..who by the way didn't have me scanned , but all offered me antidepressants because they thought it was caused by STRESS..which I refused ...Finally , 2 years later my father had a gallbladder attack and ended up in surgery ...It was like a light-bulb moment , and I went to the doctor the next day to tell him what was wrong with me ...The next week my gallbladder was removed and I got my life back !
Cubbie ..any improvement ?
We have been busy making Mother's Day plans for a big extended family picnic at the beach this Sunday ...I sure hope the weather is great on the day ...🌞

Lucy, crazy that no one could figure out gallbladder problem! That seems like a basic operation. Oh well, off to gym today and then lunch with group that I call the aqua ladies! Somehow women who do aqua class need to gossip over cheap Italian food once a month! Fun and couple are survivors so that is an added plus

Hi everyone. Today was a rough one. Two nights of leg cramps beyond belief. Then at work today while I was teaching the world went white and I had to hold on to the table to keep from falling and passing out. That happened twice. At the end of class I went to the office to tell them what was going on and got sent home. Called my PCP and got seen within an hour. Blood work and eeg and neurologist tests. BP was low. Like even lower than usual (I'm on BP meds for high BP, but this was pretty low). Turns out I'm orthostatic. BP changed from laying down to sitting to standing. It could be dehydration, tho I don't see how. I drink water all day. Waiting for blood work today but come back tomorrow for more information. And I'm exhausted. Bleh.
Moral of the story... Stay well hydrated.

TaRenee..what an awful scare you've had .!!! My hubby is orthostatic as well ..although he 's not on BP medication..His is definitely effected when he's been working in the heat , or been bike riding and hasn't drank enough water ...
Iris ...Ahh...nothing as like good gosip over a Italian lunch...🤗...so lovely to spend time with friends ...

I have an MRI coming up in about 6 weeks and it is already causing me big time anxiety. I've been cancer free since 9/2/14, but every MRI that comes up, I feel sure that I have cancer again. I have a lot of pain in my breast/underarm and have since radiation, but I have a hard time convincing myself it hasn't gotten worse. My cancer wasn't seen on my mammograms, so I don't trust them at all, so having a clean one in January doesn't comfort me at all.
How does anyone deal with scanxiety!!! Twice a year scans and I am anxious for 1-2 months before isn't a healthy amount of time to worry about this.
Thanks!

(( readytorock )) ...I wish I had some advice for you...but I haven't ..I feel exactly the same way over any scans or tests now ... I notice we were both diagnosed August 2014...

Readytorock-
I don't know how, but I have convinced myself I think that I will not have a recurrence. So I just had my first post treatment mammogram and went into it thinking I was fine (of course this close to treatment the odds are in my favor) that I would have clear findings. They were clear. However I have very dense breasts and the radiologist told me that since my tumor was almost mammagraphically occult, I might want to consider the MRI now instead of in 6 months. I wish I had thought to ask her to just do an ultrasound- that is how my bc was found.
Anyway- I have decided that cancer has taken enough from me-- my father, my sister, and at first my peace of mind with regard to my own health. It also tried to take away my wine (per RO and genetic oncologist but I said no). So I refuse to give it any more until I have to. That day may not come, but if it does I will hopefully feel that I have spent my time having fun instead of worrying. Easy to say, I know, but I think I am there most days.
I hope this helps, and I wish peace and good news with your upcoming MRI. Keep us posted

I haven't let bc take away my wine either--I bought a Coravin so I could enjoy a little bit at a time of the best stuff I can afford. I treat wine as a food. Just can't have a full glass every day (though I do indulge at tastings, winemaker dinners and upscale restaurants--IF the wine is worth drinking and pairs with my food. I never could get into drinking for the buzz--in fact, I hate the buzz. (Yeah, I'm a control freak).

i feel the same about wine, i give myself a glass each night, nothing fancy but just needed, course i also indulge in small cup of
ice cream, never did that before all the latest nonsenseBack from occupational therapist, we ended up talking food and cooking for good portion, not sure how that helps my balance!

yes, wine and ice cream are probably my two biggest indulgences as well....
I've been busy and traveling a lot, and that is keeping me out of CrazyTown....but will be back to post more soon...
Sending hugs to all!

just popping in to say hello. Wyatt's doing really poorly. I feel like we're in a waiting period. It's like standing on the edge of a cliff waiting for the ground to give out under our feet. Love you all.

(( Molly )) ....So sorry to hear about Wyatt ...Sending love and prayers...

((((Molly)))). Also sending hugs and prayers. Love you and thinking of you.

oh molly, so hard but you have done so much,, hope he turns around

Molly, I'm sorry to hear that Wyatt isn't doing well. It's such a rollercoaster for him, I wish he could just stay well.
TaRenee, that is scary. I hope they can sort something out for you. I used to get that back when I was younger and much skinnier (maybe too skinny). Stress always made it much worse.
Readytorock, in your pocket for your MRI. I get scanxiety when I have any investigations now, even when not directly breast cancer related. I also have labxiety with blood work!
I am now on a combination of Asthmanex, Prilosec, Flonase, and Zyrtec (made the switch after Iris suggested it) and my cough is finally improving. I've even had days with no coughing at all. I see the pulmonologist on the 25th, but in the meantime, my GP says to keep doing what I'm doing. Good thing, it's just in time for spring performance season at the school, and I can't be coughing in the middle of a concert or musical!

Happy Mother's Day to all ....and to those with fur-babys as well.:-)

I don't get scanxiety as much as I do lab-xiety (glucose and CBC, espec. H&H and ferritin), but major-league...scale-xiety. (I dread the lectures).
