Hi Everyone.
Whitey is doing amazingly well. Very hard to believe how normal she acts.
I will discontinue updates but want you to all to know how much your support and understanding means to me. I was a wreck and you all helped keep me going so I could be accessible to love her through this impossible time.

So happy I brought my kittens with me for rads. They have been hilarious. There was snow the other day and they sat in the window and watched it in fascination, as though every snowflake was a critter...

Looks funny but can be very dangerous. I hope grandcat is lucky and it doesn't cause big problems. A volunteer at the shelter had to pay a mint to get the 21 hair ties removed from her cat's stomach. She thought she was just mislaying them.

The vet thought he’d be ok, got him home, he went to box and pooped it out. That’s why they took him in, the stuff can get tangled and cut off the intestines. Same with Christmas decorations and yarn.

We had a cat that somehow got ahold of the filament thread from a quilted bedspread we had on our bed. Yup, it wrapped around his tongue and ended up embedded in his intestines. Had to have surgery. Lost part of his intestines. They weren’t sure if he would have a normal bowel because of the extent of the problem. Luckily, he was ok. Several years later, he got ahold of the fabric from the underside of a box spring. Yup, again he he ended up with surgery. Turned out he was ok after that one. Vet said it was nature’s way of culling. After that, every time I saw him approaching anything he shouldn’t, I would say to him, “Do you have a death wish?” He walked away.

spookiesmom so glad he is okay. We had a kitten get hold of some string elastic once. The crazy thing was the other kitten was playing with it and wrapped it around her paw and “MROOOAAARRRR” our it came! Vet said we were lucky it was easy cause it could have been bad. But at the time it was funny watching her chase her sister cause there was string coming outta her butt. (PS. She was fine. Lucky. And fine

Reminds me of the time around Christmas Day when the girls (young at the time) yelled for me to come see what was coming out of Mrs. Beasley. Turned out to be a very long strand of tinsel. I had to chase her around the house until I caught up with her and pulled it all the way out. We had a good laugh. She never did it again!

Good news at our house. We have applied to adopt another cat from the same cat charity that we got Elliott from and we have been matched with a 4 to 5 month old black cat called Alannah. She was a kitten rescued from a colony at an apartment block during TNR and was judged suitable for adoption so did not go back to colony. She is with the same foster carer who had Elliott. She has had cat flu so has not been vaccinated yet due to this as the vaccination can reignite the flu so their vet is to say when she can have first vaccines. They will allow her to come to us after first set of vaccines, letting us take care of her second set.

The kittens I recently adopted were ferals that went (w their nursing mother) to a foster carer as little babies...
I sent a note to the agency to forard to the fosterer because she did such an incredible job socializing them, and I wanted her to know they had landed in a loving home. She replied, and sent me photos of them as newborns.... and I invited her to visit any time. Those kitty fosterers are unsung heroes behind the sociability of so many of our kitties.

Alannah is really beautiful! Do I see a hint of mischief in her eyes? Squeakers is my 3rd black kitty and they are the best. Second best are orange tabby boys. Be sure to let us know when you get to bring her home.

What a cutie she is! My sister had a beautiful long-haired black cat with one single white hair under his chin. He was such a wonderful boy.
