just follows on from that leg-of-chicken washing pose

our Lu Lu has too much fluff to clean herself. She will lift her back leg, wrap for front paw around it to pull it towards her mouth. This rarely works out for her and she rolls over, still with messy fur.. haha
Our other kitty Levy will come along to help her out. She just lays there like a lump getting a massage..lol

Lu Lu seems to have it all figured out... smart girl!

hahaha I guess she does. This afternoon my youngest child, turning 8 tomorrow, is carrying her through the house. She just hung there, praying for mercy silently. He sits with her, then is on the go. He finally let her go after a very large warning huff. Her fur was every which way she just standing there looking like a train wreck. We think Levy has OCD, she took one look at Lu and began cleaning her instantly.lol

This is Levy.. She was diagnosed with Cancer the same day I found out. She has injection site carcinoma. We had surgery to remove the mass, but we were told it will come back. It was a horrible surgery. The recovery for her was rough. She is young, almost 4. She is sweet and noisy. She chirps and purrs loudly. We decided to love her as long as we can. When the time is right we will say good bye. Until then I will share her with you all. She is for her sticking her tongue out. lol

let me give you a little Lucy back ground. So I was animal sitting for a friend. She only has outside Ferrell cats. I think maybe there was 8? Anyway I go in the house, fed everyone inside and out,I go to my car and in the center of a 3 car driveway was a small baby kitten. Maybe 4 days old? She was pathetic. Very pale gums, barely moving, full of fleas. I picked her up and brought her home. She was very very weak and malnourished, cold, even though it was summer in Georgia. I had previously nursed newborn kittens, who were sick. They didn't have the same outcome sadly. We created a albuterol air tent, got her blood sugar up,warm,e an. Day 3 she was okay. Eating, moving, meowing like crazy. We took her to the vet and got meds. She was only 4 ounces big 😮 she grew quickly and healthy. She had such a naughty side, just being a kitten. She tore wallpaper, chewed wires, pushed all her litter out of her box.. that's how the name Lucy came. Short for Lucifer.lol Lucky Lu came to us at a perfect time. Her favorite human, Mackenzie, was battling depression, deeply. Meds, counselors, being a teenager. It was a rough time. Lucky needed us as much as we needed her. Not sure really who saved who. She's been such a healing tool for Mackenzie. Sometimes writing about a certain time in your life makes you reflect and appreciate. Here is a pic of baby Lu..She was so itty bitty!

It is odd to have this many in one area at one time. This is 5 of my 6 babies. Missing my long haired black girl. I didn't even have the treats out!

Kitten is my Grandcat. She has an interesting story too.
DD is a teacher, one day in her classroom she thought she heard meows. Nah, couldn't be. Next day, same thing. A Have-a-heart trap was set up in her room. Next day, baby was caught. She was about 6 weeks old.
We think she must have crawled in a students backpack and came to school that way. We'll never know, doesn't matter.
She's 6 now, and just learning how to cat. For most of her life she lived with a boy cat. They got along but neither did usual cat things. He moved, she's blossoming. By that I mean you never saw her, much less on a table. It also helps the grandkids are older and leave her alone more.

we had adopted sisters yrs ago, dogs. Both part lab/hound/maybe pit? Anyway Daisy and Ginger, the duo. We thought Daisy was the trouble maker. They both got out one afternoon only Daisy returned. We searched for weeks for Ginger, never found. Daisy became a different dog. No more barking,no digging,no potty accidents. Literally a different dog. She was with us for 6yrs but developed Cushings disease, very young for a dog,and we had to put her down 😢
Funny you talk about cats/kitten just appearing.. Yrs back we came home after a long hot day to a house that smelled like cat urine. At the time we had no cats. We lived in a double wide trailer in Georgia. Our a.c. malfunctioned in the middle of the day. I think the house temp was 95. My husband thought it was under the house and the duct work was down. We had a repair guy come. Now picture this,100 degrees in Georgia, the repair guy easily 400 pounds. He was at our house 20mins and said our duct work was fine and our blower broke. Ok 800.00 later a.c. is working. But the house still smelled. My hubby crawled under the house and sprayed vinegar to get ride of the smell. No help. By this point we all felt sick.
. The next morning my 13 yr old said "mom there is a large white cat in my ac vent..😮😮 really? Yes a 13 pound male cat,who was shivering and dehydrated .he must have crawled in,then got stuck. We got him out and dropped him at animal rescue after a good meal. So much for no ducts down .😤

LuLu's has a very fetching look in the first photo. not so much in her second photo. Curious, does she try to get them off?

Lu Lu does not look like a happy camper!

I've never heard of these "kitty claw caps".... how long do they stay on?

they are glued on. We take the girls to Petsmart. It's about 20 each cat..and the pack.of claws are 10,but they can she shared between the girls.we only get the front claws done. The first time we did them Levy hated them. She bit off 3. But by day 5-6 she gave up and forgot about it. They said they would stay on for about 30 days. We actually got 3 months. Lucky never cared. Never attempted to bite them off but I think it's because she cannot really reach her paws well.lol we had to cut Lu Lus last 2 off her claws because they had grown so much they were almost touching her beanies. But we got it off with some wiggling with tweezers.

Wow... my cats would never allow me to put these on them.... how on earth did you manage to do that?
0 -
oh no sister, I leave that to professionals at the Petsmart.lol
They have techniques where they wrap up the car to keep them still and safe.

They charge $20 to trim their claws. Might as well get the fancy caps. They come in colors, too. I saw a photo of a white cat with royal blue nail caps.

very true Wren.. Now if you have a very uncooperative kitty,it may not be possible. Levy is our problem child. She claws everything. Luc has not started again yet. But we thought get it don't before she cares.

Kathindc. The first time we had them done Levy had glue on her paws too because she was not very cooperative. We've been doing them for about a yr. A friend recommended them to me. Levy has gotten a splinter in her beanie from clawing the trim on one of our doors. 180.00 get bill I was ready to choke her. Declawing was not an option really. So we decided to try. I figured if they didn't work it was less then 50.00 wasted,no biggy. But they last longer each application. She doesn't fuss as much after so they stay longer. After the green is done we are getting the sparkles in purple. We ordered them online this time and will have Petsmart just apply them. I think it is 12 cat?
