okay, barely having cancer is like barely being pregnant. you are or you aren't!
anyone having an infusion tomorrow? I feel good... ugh. I dread feeling bad again... ugh. I'm up 4 pounds and don't want to lose it over the weekend... ugh.
I have to keep reminding myself that I'm halfway through AC tomorrow.
I didn't have any bone pain after the Neulasta last time, but it did upset my stomach. Does anyone know if Claritin helps with that or do you just have to ride it out?
Good luck Edwsmom & Aggiemegs - looking good, ladies!

sweetrose I am right there with you on that timeline. It's sad but on days like today I just don't think it important.

i took claritin 24 hour but I took it every 12 hrs you know double dose. I'm flat on my back today. It's worse than last time. I'm sorry. That's not what I want to tell you. Others seem to have done ok with the Nuelasta demon though.

I'm so sorry, Annie. If it makes you feel any better, I actually pooped in my own bed during my sleep last time after the Neulasta shot! I have adult diapers for this time around. Sexy.

Shorfi thanks for that. I'm hoping its permanent so I don't have to do the monthly shot or surgery.

Cajun I peed my pants this morning because it took me 30 minutes to shuffle my bone pain ass to the bathroom. It's is so very sexy.
Jimmy put the camping toilet in my room in case I can't make it again.

Annie, shall I mail you some of my Depends?

OMG lmbo! Wtf is happening to us! None of this is funny and I'm laughing so hard!!! Ouch!
0 -
It's so ridiculous, you have to laugh! My toddlers have better control of their bowels than we do.

OMG you guys are killing me! Cajun I didn't want to take Ambien the other night because I didn't want to get the runs in the morning and sleep through it!
I haven't had much bone pain from the neulasta, I wonder if getting it through the delivery kit which takes 45 minutes to administer it helps . It's been sitting at room temperature for 27 hours on my arm.

Almost wet myself reading this. *laughs hysterically* I tried the prune juice, guys. I think I'm next!
Maybe I can borrow my son's diapers....0 -
I don't need Depends, but with all the farting I'm avoiding open flames.
Shedding has begun. Sigh.

HI Artista928
When I found out I needed chemotherapy I was terrified. Wouldn't it be great if we could drink carrot juice, although, I think that will make her skin go orange, chemotherapy works and Im goimg to throw everything I've got at this cancer. Waiting to start treatment is worse than having the treatment. Lots of love to you honey, you'll be able to do this.

Back from chemo. Mostly just tired.
On the bright side, my MO said she can no longer feel my malignant lymph node. It definitely could be felt 4 weeks ago...
I go back for neulasta and saline on Sunday.
Picking my son up from preschool, but really I just want to curl up in bed...

Shedding? I played a special peek-a-boo with my son this morning. He likes my purple crochet hat and wanted to try it on for himself. As long as I keep smiling, he seems cool with the bald head. New state really helps with the hot flashes. On the other hand, I walked in the restroom and was startled by walking in on somebody... my reflection in the mirror.
In other news, saw The Martian last night. From the perspective of "long-term problem where death is on the line," I felt a bit kinship with Matt Damon. It was nice to laugh hysterically at somebody who also had a whole team of "smart people" working to keep them alive and somehow could still wind up totally screwed on multiple levels. One of my favorite non-spoiler nerdy moments in the movie: When somebody asks Sean Bean how he knows about the council of Elrond.
As far as gas goes... I may be at risk of blowing myself up. Stupid prunes.0 -
AnnieB43 - Anyone who tells you that you " barely have cancer and should suck it up" is (forgive my language) FULL OF SHIT. I have Stage II and am also gutting it through A/C round 2. I feel your pain and you have every right to BITCH & MOAN.
Seriously, wash that so-called "friend's" insensitive and actually borderline cruel comment right outta your (disappearing) hair. This is a crap ton to go through, be kind to yourself. I believe in you. It's excruciatingly tough - and you can do it. - Lisa

DLcygnet - You look gorgeous! I am a few days behind you - still stubble on my head, but hair is gone where anything rubs on it. (Which is to say lower leg where athletic socks pull up and - ahem - under the underwear. : )

Y'all are cracking me up! Feeling like I've been hit by a ton of bricks over here, and my tummy is rumbling like crazy, so maybe I should have bought myself some Depends for this round, geez!
I did pick up some stuff to make green smoothies for the first several days when I hate food. At least I can drink healthy stuff, right? Got my bloodwork report and my WBC was 15.4 on Tues, woohoo! Damn Neulasta definitely did its job. Not looking forward to that again, dammit

I cant tell if I'm nauseated or hungry. That's the kind of day it's been. I've only been out of bed to pee. I hope tomorrow is better.

I barely got my breasts cut off too...for my barely cancer
. I have a quack friend on Facebook who posts crap all the time. I finally had to block her cause I would read her BS and my blood pressure would go up. She had posted one day how Suzanne Somers had cured her breast cancer with alternative therapies. I don't call surgery and radiation alternative therapy. Pretty standard for people who have a lumpectomy. She just didn't do chemo. Maybe she was snorting carrot juice too.

For constipation or just pain in that area.
I take 1 cap of Miralax everyday with juice. It helps a lot. I only lay off of it if the medication takes it the other way. Also I try to use the ointment from Preparation H on the area regularly. That helps a lot .

bottom issues...I make my own wipes. Cut a roll of bounty in half. Find a Tupperware type container it fits in. 1.5 cups purified water and .5 cup witch hazel. Put the half roll in with the lid, turn it upside down for 10 minutes then pull out the cardboard roll. I make these as baby wipes fir my kids too but I add a little baby oil to thiers. Witch hazel is anti inflammatory astringent.

I wanted to post about Genetics. My panel was a full panel done through Ambry Genetics. They had a no billing surprise guarantee so that It would be no more than that 100 dollars. I am not sure the profile one needs to qualify because my genetic counselor handled it. Here is the information
1(866-262-7943) and info@ambrygen.com
I have a mother on Medicare who had her Genetics tested at no cost through invitae clinical@invitae.com
Maybe that might help someone. These were the companies that my genetic counselor used.

Good evening Ladies
Well, here I am one of the people petrified to start chemo and today I went for my second chemo of Gemzar and Carboplatin and when they checked my blood that said my count was only 102 and it should be at least 150. I could not get my treatment. Ironic, I was disappointed. :-(
And of course I am not sure what that blood test was. WBC maybe? Can anyone shed some light on this. I guess I really did not pay attention to what the nurse was saying. :-(
So to all you ladies out there that are so terribly afraid to start this journey, know that it is not quite as scary once you know what to expect.
Annie and others. After reading these posts I really had a good laugh. Depends indeed!!

I was told neutrafils had to be 1.5. I'm in the dark about the rest. Seriously I'm at a point where I just glaze over the numbers and just do what I'm told. I'm not sure that's a good thing.

When do the Hallmark Christmas movies start? I feel like I deserve them to start now.
0 -
Annie, don't they start the end of October? There are a bunch of autumn movies on hallmark this sat that look ok
Ladies I feel better about the farting that we all are talking about it. I can't even say excuse me anymore since it is a constant with me. I just want a day without SE's. Today my back molar is bugging me. I grind/clench my teeth when I sleep and must have been going at it last nite because I have had really weird bad dreams that last 2 nites. Oh yeah and the not sleeping. It's setting in that my next chemo is wed. I should be more motivated since it is my last AC but then I'm stressing about starting dose dense taxol after. Plus I'm really getting annoyed with the whole being out of breath and feeling like I'm 90 when I climb a flight of stairs.
Ok I'll breathe now and get off my btch box.

I just got home from having port in today. It wasn't bad. I wasn't knocked out all the way but he made it so toward the end I'd become awake enough to get over anesthesia quicker. So for the finishing touches I was awake talking sports with the guys so it made it kinda fun. Just got rid of a slight dull headache only because from 11 am on the stretcher until 4 pm I've either been on my back or in a recliner chair waiting for my free ride from drivers for survivors. So think this not sitting up for hours is the reason for the dull headache. So just popped a couple tylenol.
Tomorrow I have labs drawn that my MO wants at the infusion center. The picc line from my infection is still in and they'll pull it out tomorrow. I"m glad I had my picc for this procedure. IVs are always painful for me cuz I have tiny veins and a few got blown while trying to set up the IV when I was admitted to the hospital a couple weeks ago.
So it sounds like the discomfort with the port comes the next day? Anyone need narcotics or was Tylenol fine?
Cinque: Thank you. You're very kind.

I was sent home from port-insert surgery with Oxycodone. Didn't take any of it or even any Tylenol. Some discomfort, but nothing that rose to the level of pain. It did help to sleep on my back exclusively for a week after to minimize pain. Hope your recovery is also easy-peasy!

^^ ^^
Yay for you and hopefully yay for me! Yeah, with these tissue expanders the most comfortable is on the back to sleep.
