Annie! I've got the funky watery crusty eyes going tonight, ugh!!! How long did this nonsense last for you?

sorry about the WBC Rosleo..sorry for all of our SEs! I have the itchy hands now too, plus I am very tired tonight, after energy earlier today.
and sorry about the game today, Lindy! How did it go other than the score?

Glad that the port went well for you. I think it would have been fun to talk to my surgeon during it. He's pretty fun, but it probably would be distracting. He advised me to take the max dose (2 pills) of oxycodone prior to bed to avoid middle of the night pain.
My blood work today was good. I have thrush, so I have a prescription mouthwash to use to clear it up. It's pretty disgusting stuff to taste.

Hello wonderful September ladies.
Had to take two days off work because of horrid SE, today went back and all my patients were incredible behaved today.
Ladies sorry that I caanot mention all of you but just know that you are all in my thoughts and payers and I would come crawling anywhere for the great honor of meeting you.
Hugs and more hugs for all of you

Octogirl..made the game and got through it quite well. Finished the infusion around noon and was there in plenty of time for the first pitch at 3:30. Unfortunately I think the Jays absorbed some of my fatigue as they looked flat out there. No worries though, I know they will pick it up.
Just a slight headache and the typical queasy/taste nonsense for me today. Hopefully I'm ok like this tomorrow. We're back at the game in Toronto and this time as guests of one of our suppliers. I think we will be in one of those luxury boxes and of course all the booze and food you want..which I won't want ugh..but at least I can walk around and get some air when the inevitable hot flashes hit. We were able to invite 2 other guests so my bestest girlfriend and her hubby are coming with us. My small way of repaying them both as they went above and beyond the friendship thing, bringing us food after my surgery and it continues to this day.

Shopgal said "Annie, don't they start the end of October? There are a bunch of autumn movies on this sat that look ok"
I'm pretty sure those Autumn movies might be Halloween pics like Friday the 13th, Halloween, Freddy's revenge, Carrie.... you get the drift...And we think we have trouble sleeping now...........

Lisa, my kids try on all my hats too and they look so much cuter in them! I'm sure they will fight over my devil tail tomorrow.
Does anyone else dream about chemo, cancer, or crapping in your pants EVERY SINGLE NIGHT?!? Why....WHY?

Arista, don't the expanders feel like somebody jammed a big hard thing of plastic where they just surgically removed the lymph nodes? My implant is 100 times comfier but my drain sites are still healing. I have actually fallen asleep on my back three times, which I never do.

Grey, I for one will certainly be thinking about you tomorrow and hoping all goes well. Deep breaths, deep breaths! You can do this!

Grey, we will all be thinking of you tomorrow. The port procedure was pretty easy and will make the whole process easier. I'm proud of you for sticking with this. We all know this is hard but we are here for you. Much love and prayers for everyone.

Cajun- I didn't think I'd be able to sleep on my back as I'm totally a side sleeper. But I got this comfy wedge pillow from Ross that you sink into but it still has good support, so it's actually comfy. I make minor hip shifts to the right/left and sorta go to my side so I'm able to get through the night ok. But once I'm done and have perm implants, no more sleeping on the back! I might take a Norco before bedtime. I hate popping pills but if this minor discomfort is temporary then I guess best pop a pill before bedtime.
After bmx with tissue expander placements, I just popped Norco as suggested for 5 days. Then stopped and saw I felt fine. So not sure if I have a good pain tolerance. Everyone had scared me to stay ahead of it so I did for 5 days.

Grey, thinking of you tomorrow! Had my port sx today with general anesthesia for 1/2 of it then they decreased it so when they were just wrapping up, I was awake and was talking sports with the docs. I actually liked that because it wasn't so serious and it got my mind off the big bad 'c' word for awhile.
It wasn't distracting for them. I've watched many sxs the surg I used to work for perform (least invasive hip and knee replacements) and surg and the PA were tight. I'd hear comments from time to time about the 49ers. They have done the sx a million times that they know when to focus and when ok to let loose a bit so to speak.
You've got this grey. When you are under, you will be deep asleep and not feel a thing. Best wishes! xo

Anyone have a spot smaller than a dime, like 1/2 it's size under the white bandage after port sx?? Frick, Can't tell if blood or not.

grey, it's already tomorrow here in Finland. You'll be in my thoughts and my heart all day --- you've got this, girl --- and we've all got your back! So sleep peacefully :

Got my hair buzzed from the about 2 in. I had hacked it to with scissors awhile ago, to 1/4 inch so there's not so much to clean up as it drops all over. Already thinking maybe should have had her shave me completely bald? The scalp scar from removal of a non-cancerous growth in childhood isn't as huge or noticeable as I had feared.
Wishing everybody a much better day than yesterday was ((((hugs))))

best wishes, grey!
Tessu, I had a giant scar on my head from a skin graft that is pretty much gone now to My surprise. I figured if it had still been there, everyone would think I had a brain tumor.
Tonight's new SE: hot flashes! I normally sleep with a ton of blankets, I am so cold, but I woke up feeling like I was in the Sahara and with heart burn. This must be a preview of the impending early menopause.

the hallmark autumn movies are, in fact, the autumnal love story movies. Daughter and I watched two last weekend. She cracked me up as--at 9--quickly figured out the formula but was still transfixed. Don't judge they are very G/PG!!

molliefish I was referring to the movies on hallmark channel which are romance made for TV movies. Sorry if it seemed like I was referring to horror movies. I would not do that and I don't like them anyways.

greytmph2 - I am aiming massive positive vibes to CT. I am also in my 50s and so sympathetic. You are going to make it through port insertion GREAT. Please keep us updated - I send hugs & love. - Lisa

tessu - Had my "chemo cut" last Monday (pre-Round 2 chemo Tuesday) and physician's assistant predicted hair would all fall out by Sunday or so. Hair loss has started and I too am wondering if a shave might be the most neat way to go. Got very little sleep (love steroids - hate steroids!), so maybe later today or tomorrow.
Like you, wishing everyone a wonderful Friday (already well in progress in Finland, one of my fave countries in the world!) - Lisa

The sticky eye drainage is constant to whomever asked. I'm sorry I'm a bit fuzzy. I wake up each morning with glued shut eyes.
I overslept and missed my appointment with GP. One of my kids missed school.
My bone pain us easing up I think. Maybe today will be the start of the last of it. Felt queasy all night. I need a shower but can't pick my arms up high enough. I walked around last night like that old man character on Carol Burnette. Halfway down the hall I just burst out laughing. This chemo shit is so rediculous! I walk in tiny steps, sit down and stand with a grunt and just try not to pee or crap myself! Just a few more months. It's like a mantra now....just a few more months.
Good thought for today my friends

Hey Shopgal, I'm sorry I totally missed the Hallmark reference. At our house, movies in autumn equals lots of chills, thrills and screams.

Aga each site should have nsyructions about size. I got mine at wigs.com because they had a sale but like cysterwigs.com. they have great videos. Also wigs by Pattis Pearls has great info.
My wig is Jon Renau brand and I like it.

my mother has left and MIL arrived to help because I still can't lift the kid and My husband works 11-12 hour days and weekends). When she gets here she tells us she is still having dizzy spells (we had to ask her to stop watching the twins as babies due to them) and needs a full cardiac work up! So I feel bad, but why is she driving? I feel like I can't let her be alone with the kids now (1, 2, 2) - not much help. Why wouldn't she tell us that first?
