Patty,
Thinking of you tonight - hoping that Cdiff is starting to clear up and you are feeling better. Hunger is a good sign - have friends and family sneak in whatever food sounds good to you!
Hugs,
Sheri

Oh so no WONDER! You are on a liquid diet? And they wonder why you have the big D??? You need supper fixin's like bisquits and gravy, Pinto beans with macaroni & bacon, and Cheeto's..... No more fruits and vegetables... take pills for those.
And yes! Lots of dressing! Just eat a loaf of bread with a bottle of Vodka! xoxoxo

Hey Sheppers.... You are RIGHT! Hah! I remember having my 2 little Grand-sons here a lot of the time when we baby-sat them.... We could make the biggest messes you ever saw! Now they are 28 & 30.... I miss those days so much.... but also love when they call, and we just talk about "stuff"....
0 -
We love our messy boys, don't we? The little ones at least!
Our oldest was the most awfulest messy boy ever. I didn't think he would ever be able to live on his own. What landlord would want him? Well, he did grow up and finally move out. ...to rent a house with....WHITE CARPETS. And a dog. And a cat. The place is spotless! Show-room clean and smells good too. What the heck?! I am getting my "revenge" though....younger DS moved in with him a few years ago. I love my chld with all my heart.....but, he's p-i-g! Ha! Totally Oscar and Felix
The boys only live a few blocks away and that nearly broke my heart. Lucky Patty, your boys are still "babies". Lots of snuggy time and adventures together still to come. Chevy your boys are too far ...they need to set you up with a special grammy/grampy cottage close by! Hoping Mr. Chevy is recovering from his tumble and being a patient patient

Little Shep,....I know what you mean! When they all lived here, we would go house-sit when Mom & Dad took them out of town for tournaments and skiing...... So I would love to help DD by cleaning the boys rooms.... Oldest Son's room was organized and spotless.... Younger one, maybe 10, had socks, shirts EVERYwhere! Under the bed, hanging on lamps, and you get the picture! I would clean it all up, laughing the whole time..... He is STILL not much better DD says!
Yes, I cred when they moved to Orlando.... But they were older... just that I missed them as "my boys"....! I miss my DD too.... so MUCH! Isn't that funny??? She is just 58, but we talk or text every day..... I just miss being around her.... we make each other laugh....
One time when they were all gone, I cleaned out her pantry! OMG!!! I don't know how many cans of poultry seasoning, boxes of the same cereal, blah-blah! So I left her a note pad of what to buy next, or in a week, or in a month, or "absolutely never in your whole life EVER buy again!" She still has that note.... Hah! This was about 20 years ago......
And no, Mr Chevy is not being very patient as a patient... Hah! I still rub stuff on his neck, heat up the neck thing, or connect the heating pad.... but honestly, he IS better.... I just don't want to tell him that....
I'm lucky to still have him to take care of.... you know? So I have to make him happy.... along with me!
Later gaters......

Just got DS (20) to excavate his room after about half a year of threats I finally hit one that worked by saying no to him leaving the house until done.
Trouble is when done it seldom lasts
How are you Patty? XXX

Feline ~ Wow! Even a temporarily clean room is quite an accomplishment!
Chevy ~ Don't let the impatient patient wear you out
Patty ~ Hoping you've had a peaceful day and are having a restful night.

Where IS that Peppermint??? Hopefully she is just busy, getting better!
Feline, you are right... It never lasts...Ha! Clean one second, and then the next day, back to their old habits.
They were here in May.... So much fun! But the younger one stayed here to sleep, and our DD and the oldest GS went over to Janie's.... So I KNEW he wouldn't make-up the little sofa-bed he slept on.... Found 2 mis-matched socks, and his new T-shirt all wrapped up in the blankets after they left.... Haaaaaah! Sent them back when Janie visited them. I had ASKED him if he wanted me to organize his suit-case, but he said, "No, it's okay Grams, I got it all in there".... And that's all that mattered I guess....
You guys going to cook Thanksgiving dinner? We are having our Daughter, and 2 of her friends over... I have been cooking those dinners for 59 years now.... Except a couple, then Sheri did it ...... but I really enjoy getting "stuff" ready.... And it's always nice to be DONE though, and everything cleaned up....

Chevy ~ Love hearing stories about your family. You take such good care of them. I hope they spoil you as much as you do them! Our next door neighbors are dear friends that have become our "family" over the years. The husband and wife love cooking and entertaining. We spend holidays at their house; all we have to do is show up! And bring a dessert or two. Our kids, in-laws and our hosts' kids and extended family, plus other friends and their families... oh, and everyone's dogs (big and small).....it's exhausting! I've been feeling ucky and might try to stay home this time. Not sure if I'll have the energy for all those folks. My friend always loads me up with leftovers after the dinner. Thanksgiving tastes better the next day - in my pjs at home ๐
Patty ~ Whether at home or still in your private suite, you will still have a Thanksgiving. It's really about being thankful for our loved ones. The food is just a bonus and can wait until you are ready to fully enjoy it ๐

And now it's time for happy thoughts!

Hello my dear friend Shep. Busy cheering up our dear Patty despite not feeling well yourself. Bless your heart.
Patty, you don't have to celebrate Thanksgiving on the same day as everyone else. Hope this will cheer you up a bit.
โขThe nurse who can smile when things go wrongโฆ
Is probably going off duty.
โขWhat did the nurse say when she found a rectal thermometer in her pocket? Some a$h--- has my pen.
โขWhat's the difference between an oral thermometer and a rectal thermometer? The taste.
So make sure you examine the thermometer beforehand
An old nurse is talking to her young colleague and says to her, "My new patient has the weirdest tattoo on his private part. It's the word SWAN."
The young nurse is intrigued and so she persuades the old nurse to swap patients with her so she can see the strange tattoo too.
Afterwards, the young nurse reports back to the old one, "You don't read very well. The tattoo says SASKATOON SASKATCHEWAN."
I have no idea what that means. Hope it is not bad words.
Hope I won't get in trouble for that. Mods, have I told you that you folks are the best?
We will see if that will work.

love it all thanks for the laughs, smiles and great thoughts to take my mind away from this hospital room. So no more fevers. Yea. 48 hour countdown til I can leave started yesterday at 11am. That would still get me home for Thanksgiving. Fingers crossed and if not we will just celebrate Friday as someone suggested
Chevy. Love your family stories. You always can distract me from the current issues. Thanks to you and all
Shep. Get well soon.
Hugs all around

See? I KNEW if we made enough noise, she would get back here! So I can't count.... When are you going home? And you have to cook a whole Turkey dinner? You want us all to come by and bring this TO you? We will, you know!
I'm just kidding... I know your fam will all take care of you.... I've been getting this going.... snacks and dishes to put in the oven.... Will take those giblets out of the bird today, and cook them along with some chicken tenders, and put the dressing together in the morning.
I made up this cranberry salad, with just stuff I had.... A can of whole cranberries, 2 diced apples, lemon juice, slivered almonds and coconut! I didn't have any more celery, or I would have added that too...
Did I tell you guys that Janie caught her mouse??? Or rat? I don't know the difference! I mean I thought she was hallucinating about this "mouse" and how much noise it made. Her cat didn't seem to be taking advantage of this meals on wheels.... SO, she saw this overgrown mouse run under the dishwasher a couple times... She bought a trap... Peanut Butter must not have been to his liking....
So she finally pulled the dishwasher out... OMG there was a hole in the wall, that her dink friend had left, after "installing tile flooring!" So this "mouse" used insulation from the dishwasher to make this NEST!!! Then she felt sorry for him.... but she sealed up the hole with foam stuff! THEN she could hear "scratching".... IN HER WALL.... The cat just walked away and said "I don't want any part of this!"..... So she knocked another hole in the wall to get the mouse out!
FINALLY the mouse came out, and she caught him in this big box she had up against the wall !!!! She had a piece of bread & lettuce... like a Thanksgiving dinner in there for him! The first attempt was just her running around the kitchen with him "screaming" and running wild.... But she took that "mouse box" out doors to the fence near the field, and told him to GO and never come back! She left his dinner.
I told her I'm just surprised you didn't go buy a cage, and get him a Hamster wheel, and keep him as a pet for your CAT! Man, I lost sleep over this whole fiasco! And she was ready to just smack her "friend" over the head for leaving an unnecessary hole in the wall in the FIRST place!

Here is hoping you get sprung from the hospital!! Hugs and fortitude. I am so glad you are feeling better. They should name a wing after you! Did the boys like the suites and masks?

Hi Patty,
So good to hear you are feeling better! Hope you make it home to enjoy Thanksgivng with your family:) and I hope that getting rid of this helps you feel better for a long long time!!

Susan.... I KNOW! Daughter was afraid if he was a she, she would have babies in the wall! That's why she had to rescue her/nim... We know NOTHING about how mice....do whatever they do......or who is who....
I saw little tiny mice all Summer, out by our fence, next to the ditch... but they were about as big as my little finger.... NOT so with this "creature" she saved... Hah!
Yeah, my pole dancin' days are long gone! Really careful when I walk now.... "sometimes".... Ha!

Happy Thanksgiving Patty. Hope you are sooo much better. XX

Happy Thanksgiving Patty - hang in there. You'll be home soon!!

Ha! You gals need to "woman-up" and deal with those dang house mice/rats properly like I do. SHOOT 'EM! That fixes them from coming back for good. I like mice, but not in my house. Get the critter on the 1st shot and you'll only have one little hole to fix! ๐ญ ๐ซ
Chevy ~ That is a cute critter. Little guy looks scared. Hope he stays outside!
Patty so glad you are doing better! Send hubby out for some nice frozen turkey dinners and just take it easy. Or nice toasted turkey subs. Yummy ๐
Hope your nurses aren't like Loverly's ๐ฑ
We'll all be counting down the hours with you๐
(I'm okay.... been having stupid migraines. Ick. It will pass, or I'll pass out.... whatever works!)
0 -
Okay Sheppers! If you WANT that "mouse", come by, and he'll probably be hanging out looking for treats! YOU SHOOT THEM???? You GO girl !!
I'm sorry you are having migraines! Ouch! What can you do for them???
You know, I was walking out back to my 2 barrel composter's.... And right in my way was a DEAD MOUSE!!! Yeee Gods! But I picked him up by his dead tail, and threw him over the fence... Eeeeeeeeks! I'm glad he was dead, and not 1/2 alive.... I would NOT have taken him to the vets... I probably would have ran back in the house, and checked later!

Happy Thanksgiving Patty! May you DH and DSs have a wonderful time together. I am sure you will get sprung! Hope so anyway.
All these mouse stories remind me of our Hamster adventure. Years ago when DD2 was in elementary school her friend let her hamster Pikachu out in our house. The girls couldn't find it and didn't tell any one it was loose in the house for fear of being yelled at. I yelled at the dog for sniffing and pacing across the bookshelves in the living room. No idea there was a hamster loose, just thought the dog was acting strange. We had 3 cats and 3 dogs at the time.. none of them caught the critter. So we are laying in bed and we hear this scratching and thunk... scratching and thunk... it's coming from the bathroom. DH and I both stared at each other what on earth would make a noise like that? I go into the bathroom and there is a long haired hamster trying to get out of the tiny plastic waste can - jumping up and sliding down the plastic sides. I yelled for my DD2 to explain why there would be a hamster in our bathroom? How in the heck it managed to live several days and not get eaten I will never know. Useless cats.. they will kill the voles, mice, rats and birds outside and haul the carnage in through the cat door but one fluffy fat hamster in the house is off limits? Sarah my DD2's friend got her live hamster back the next day... fact is stranger then fiction. Kids... never a dull moment.
Happy Thanksgiving!!
