Hubby and I talked today, because of this virus and the shut downs going on in my state, we decided to wait until next month to look for a puppy. It hurts but it is the right thing to do right now.

Aww, MOmmy, so sorry, but you are wise to wait a bit.

We talked about keeping our eyes out for one in case we see one we like in the meantime. If it doesn’t happen, April is only weeks away.

Well, the shearing shed closed for the duration. Since I had already gotten clippers, I ordered a table, and will do it myself. I have already done some scissor work on his neck and shoulders, where his harness sits. The table is going to arrive today, so do it yourselfers say he needs a bath first. He didn't really get the zoomies bad, right now he is laying on the footstool next to my chair. This may get interesting. I know his groomer is going to have a laugh, but his hair has gotten so long that I can't keep up with the mats.

Definitely bath first. Makes it so much easier, but get the mats out first!! They shrink when dry, darn near impossible to get out.

MCBaker - What breed or mix is your pup? Just curious. You may have posted a pic, so apologies if I should already know.

He is Shih-Tzu/Yorkie. At least I say so; vet says some kind of terrier. I do have allergies.

Sounds like a real cutie, MCBaker. Post a pic when you are done with his trimming, if you can.

I will do my best to do a good job and post a good picture. We are still waiting for the table. He knows we are waiting for something. Some boys have been running him several times a week; I don't want to say the word "boys"', LOL, because they won't be coming any more, with schools shut down. I might as well settle down with a book. I could start making doll-clothing, but want to get busy with that haircut as soon as I can.

Been working on it. Vet's office referred me to a groomer for some advice. I have made real progress, and I think he is much more comfortable. He does have some exposed skin on several areas, but it will grow back quickly. His haunches were badly matted, I trimmed them as close as I dared, those areas seem to be sensitive, but he enjoys a vigorous brushing to work it loose. Just never thought of brushing those areas until it got so long that I lost control.

imageI've used human de tangler spray on my poodles ears. Works great! Spray on, let soak in, gently work tangle/mat with long tooth comb. This is what I use on both of them. The handle broke off years ago. Spookie bites it instead of me if I pull too hard. The teeth rotate.

The teeth rotate! now that would help. I find that a pick, as in comb with huge teeth works well. My fingers are less objectionable, but time consuming. I have another comb thing that the insides of the teeth are knives, but he doesn't like that at all. However, a seam ripper does a good job if you are holding below the knot securely. I am going to try the knives thing again, now that we are back to one inch or less.

Spookiesmom - love all your image posts. We need them even more now in this environment!

Micmel - OMG Deeohgee’s big brown eyed looking at your daughter melts my heart!

Magic light - awesome photo, looks like art! But cuter...

Yogatyme - so relieved your pup is fine! FYI Tucker has had this benign lump forever and he’s 17 and doing just fine.

Rah, Mommyof2 and others - paw wave hello!

So I live in CA and have been working from home since last week, and apparently that will last at least through April 19th with the new orders announced tonight. Guess who thinks that is the best thing ever?

Bit of a rant coming. It’s kinda funny, mostly not. DH finally got around to installing a new screen door on the slider. The old one was hard to move, new one slides easily.

Kris, being too smart, has figured out how to open it with his nose. No biggie, except if I’m not around to close it, it stays open. Which means every bug in Florida can come in, and the rats, snakes, stray whatever.

I keep telling myself the a/c will be on soon and the glass door is too heavy for him to push. At least it has been.

    Rant over. Silly boy❤️❤️❤️
