Here is my new grand-puppy, Stella. When I asked DS why he gave her that name, he reminded me that when he was a little boy and we visited gramma & grandpa, he would walk the neighbor's dog every chance he got.......and that dog's name was Stella. Both my parents have been gone for quite awhile now, and I was very touched that he had that good memory from the times he spent with them.

I took a short flight - it was such a beautiful day - Here is a snapshot of my neighborhood from 1000 feet (in a vintage biplane). I live in such a beautiful area and couldn't help taking a few pictures. Your posts are always encouraging and enlightening. I admire your grace Stephanie as you take the steps you need to take and I hope the pain is not overwhelming. When my time comes I Hope I am halfway as thankful as you for what I have been given in life.

Yikes, can't believe it's been 11 days since I last wrote.
Have been at bco and do read your wonderfully supportive and uplifting good wishes. Thank you! And great gratitude for sharing with me what you love.
You lift me up during a difficult spell.
The ratio of physically demanding events to emotionally/spiritually/socially fulfilling ones has shifted since the hospice nurses are coming daily.
Not complaining, as they've become beloved carers too. We have far-reaching conversations in the morning.
Later in the day, a care circle member comes and we're usually quiet together, instead of falling into conversation. It's important that I learn to be quiet and sleep with my dear friends in the cottage, so I'm more comfortable and supported as their presence and hours increase. Plus, it's easy to pull off as I continue to sleep 12-14 hours of 24.
While I love the support and connection, I also value my autonomy.
Each moment of autonomy, joy, reflection, quiet, emotion, self-presence and private time in nature seems so precious, because it really could be among my final moments.
I live in earthquake country where seismic shifts literally reconfigure human and natural landscapes.
As I live in the presence of death, a fault line, and each moment is ever more luminous, precious, infused with gratitude and wonder.
Life is a blessing, a gift, even if the circumstances feel like a gift we'd like to trade-in.
Am sending much love and rainbow light for all.
Gratitude overspilling, Stephanie
A Prayer
Refuse to fall down
If you cannot refuse to fall down,
refuse to stay down.
If you cannot refuse to stay down,
lift your heart toward heaven,
and like a hungry beggar,
ask that it be filled.
You may be pushed down.
You may be kept from rising.
But no one can keep you from lifting your heart
toward heaven
only you.
It is in the middle of misery
that so much becomes clear.
The one who says nothing good
came of this,
is not yet listening.

I can't believe in all this time I have never read this thread. Well I have read it from start to present now and am in even more awe of you than I had been from just reading your posts among the many other threads on BCO. You truly are an inspiration and a beautiful person. You have touched me and continue to touch me so deeply with your grace, strength, knowledge and generosity. If I read the thread correctly we share a birthday - June 8? I just wanted to add my voice to the chorus of support and love for you. I think of you often and wish you peace and light every day. Sending you much love and healing.

Thank you all so very much.
I too so appreciate this healing space that we've created together.
Am sleeping more often than not these days, but still happy and at peace.
A joyous time of my life!
Loving my beautiful body, I realize that my body is beautiful not by looks, but by how I perceive myself and the world.
So grateful, Stephanie

Stephanie - am so glad to hear you are at peace as I would hope. I think of you often even through my own current struggles and some of what you have taught me through this thread and the D&D has come through when I need to focus my mind on anything other than the pain.
Thanks again for all you do and glad this space makes you feel good.

Hello Stephanie,
I'm so happy that you're happy and at peace.
Remembering how much you've enjoyed your Threshhold Choir Singers, here is a video of me playing flute with the choir at the July 17 concert at my church.
I wish I could play for you in person. Love, Madelyn

We have a trumpet vine climbing a trellis, it blooms summer through fall and attracts hummingbirds.
I didn't take these photos so thanks google images and talented strangers for these beautiful pix.
