I’ve been out sick since school started back and today was my first day back. This is what awaited me when I got to school today. I got some of the sweetest notes from my students.

TaRe, love the notes from students. How sweet!!!

Just got back from playing bocce ball at our club with my husband's relative. It was fun, and we did not suck. I just did not want to suck too much. Plan to work on my game. Have to get some bank documents in order tomorrow, send out invites for my son's graduation party, help a friend with wedding decor for the church (I will be making bows), and I have to finish my closet. Still getting back into the groove after Vegas...

Last night, at 11:30pm, something large tried to come in my dog door. My greatest fear was that it was a bobcat that has been seen by both my husband and me. With my heart pounding out of my chest, I tried to block the door with the hard cover that is supposed to slip into the slot and cover the door. A struggle ensued on my part.... Finally, after a few seconds of this horrific situation.....I heard laughter.....my son's laughter. I turned the light on and he was laughing his butt off. He needed some things from the garage for his side side side job of doing tiny drywall repairs for his friends in school housing. If a student has scratched or put a nail hole in a wall, they can be fined. I wanted to share this for a good laugh today.

Here is Claire with her Muse. Wasn't in my best finery as swapped the coat for my running top and headed out the door shortly afterwards. Amazingly, stayed dry. - Claire

i just wanted to say how much I love this thread and the ability to share our lives. It has been my North Star on this journey. With everything going on in the world, it is a nice place to come to and hear of everybody's daily lives

Claire- beautiful bag! I love how a bag defines a women! My new bag is a SkipHop bag...lol! I love it! It's not my purse. I carry to bags. One for the kids and one for me.

TaRenne- how sweet! I miss working for the school system! I was always in special education (surprise surprise) that's where I met my girl!

Michelle -so true! I wish I could post more but my life is boring to all you other girls! I would just be posting about laundry, grocery shopping, chasing the cutest babies ever and how many steps it took me to do all that... (usually 20,000+ a day)

I am venturing out to a women's banquet tonight. I went shopping yesterday and got a beautiful bright orange and plan on wearing my white slacks with my red Fly London shoes.(my favorite pair!) Maybe I'll post a picture when I'm ready to go.

The switch to Anastrozole has been uneventful other than decreased appetite. So I've lost 6 pounds and thats a good thing. I'm back to my surgery day weight. Here's hope I continue to have a grip on my hunger!

Here's my cherry tree....isn't it breath taking!

Very breathtaking cherry tree. Finished up a ride in the damp about an hour ago. Which is good, as these things get my friend Jim out cycling and out of the routine. We did the ride in farmland about a 20 minute drive from here. Very wet, but lovely. We missed the worst as the rain stopped just as we started the ride and started up just as we were finishing. It poured on the way home in the car.

We stopped at Farmhouse Market to use the facilities, but of course, I just had to get the local carrots in three colors (orange, purple, yellow) grown just up the road, and then the deals on steak and sausages. My freezer is now full, and I can't wait to try the sausages. Stopped by the egg place and got the last dozen (as well as saying hello to the chickens which were running around), half of the eggs have light green shells. It was lovely riding as so few people out and the countryside was so peaceful. Watched the snow clouds over the mountains and looked at the swollen rivers. But not flooded thankfully.

The scent of the blooming apple trees was beyond wonderful.

Got home and made myself a mushroom omelet for lunch with the bargain mushrooms I got a couple of days ago. Just delish.

Trying to motivate myself to work and already thinking about the Chicken Paprika that awaits me for dinner. Life is good.

Daffodil Classic tomorrow. Will be doing the 40 mile course. Hoping the sun comes out as it would be nice to see more than low clouds. That's my story, and I'm sticking to it. Need to get my fleece cycling tights off as it's still that weather. - Claire

Varga, thank you always for the pretty pics you post. I just love seeing other parts of the country. It is cool and raining in Illinois today.

I have been working in my closet and am preparing to clean the wood floor with some clorox wipes, then other stuff. I want to start with a very clean slate and wood. My husband is patching some plaster as well. Today, I have a design meeting with a friend who is getting married and I am weighing in on church decor.

Claire, I hope you are doing well on your ride today and staying dry. Can't wait to here about it.

Today is a rainy windy day. I am hoping my Cherry Tree blooms make it through the wind and possible hail. Grey days make the bright days that much better!

How do you girls get the quotes on your info? Like your live free Michelle. I have one I want to add and can' figure it out!

I found a Nordstrom store! It’s about 45 min away, but I went and talked to the fitting lady. She said wait till about 6-8 weeks post and set an appointment and we will get me fitted. I was so excited to find the store. Thank you to whoever told me to get to one! I’ve never been in a Nordstrom, and I LOVED it. Yayyyy!!!

Thanks Michelle! I had it in the wringredients place! I had my quote in the biography place that's why it would not post.

TaRene- do they carry compression bras to?? I have always been a Victoria Secret girl and that doesn't work any more. My lingerie chest is full of beautiful matching bras and panties that I will probably never be able to wear again. I pull the wire out of one of my plain beige bras and I have been able to wear it 2 times in the past year for a few hours. That will probably be the only bra from my fabulous collection that will be worn again. So what does a girl do with something like that??? I gave my 3 VS high impact sports bras to a good friend but I have to admit it felt a little weird saying "hey, you want the sports bras I can't wear anymore?"....lol

Cold again in the mountains! The sky is a crystal blue this morning after all the storms lat night.

    Have a blessed day!

Anyone after a lumpectomy, have no recurrences for 10 yrs?

Please let me know if you know anything about below research for recurrences:

Another very interesting area my RO's research (RO in Vancouver) is into blood tests for early cancer DNA. Not the same as tumor marker tests, but simpler and could only cost $150. I will ask him about this and if it could be used to identify early BC recurrence:

Varga, you could donate to a women's back to work charity? As Claire says, under pinnings are so important. I donated several of my daughters VS bras, which were at least $50. I could never wear VS bras, because of the underwire pinching near my ribcage.

Getting closer on my closet everyday. Still wiping the floors down with clorox wipes. Hopefully, will get that finished today.

nice pictures claire! Hope everyone is doing great. Saturday night my husband and I and our daughter went to our local High School production of West Side Story. It was very good. On the way home I was snapping my fingers like the gang the Jets do. Just like that my middle finger joint started hurting. Dang the old tbones just aren't what they used to be. Getting ready to try to find something to do with the shrimp I found on sale at the store today.. Maybe you guys can help me out you did such a good job on the brussel sprouts. Had to go to the hospital today to get my zoladex shot. I had a fever of 99.7. Not sure what's going on there. May try to hit the sack early cuz I got to work tomorrow. Let me know if you have any great ideas for the shrimp I'm thinking I'm going to sautee some red pepper and onion in some olive oil and some garlic put the shrimp in there then toss with some angel hair serve with some parmesan. But any other quick and easy ideas for shrimp I would really love to know.

Gkbuser - shrimp us something I do not eat! So I don't know how to cook it. It's a texture thing I can't stand the way it squishes in my teeth. Hope you feel better soon and that the fever goes away !

How about throwing the shrimp on the barbie??? Feel better girl. Magnesium for the bone aches could quite possibly help.

Getting to this a bit later than planned. Below is a picture of me towards the start of yesterday's 40 mile ride. Have to admit I was dragging a bit today as much more difficult doing these miles in rain vs. sunshine. Hats off to the winners of the Boston Marathon! Afterwards, I had dinner with friends who are divorcing. Interesting, but so glad that the husband is able to step in and take care of their son. My friend is a "Bolter" in the true Nancy Mitford sense of the word.

I could use a touch of Spring about now, hopefully when I do the Tulip Pedal on Saturday. Promise pix of the tulips. - Claire

I had a massage tonight. One of our local colleges runs a year long program and has clinics in April, May and June. Full body massage for $20. Yeah me. My good friend's brother was having one on the next table, enclosed with curtains. We were joking about having a "couple's massage." It was so funny that I came home and told my husband. I have signed up for several more through the end of June.

Grocery shopped and did a little laundry today. Tomorrow, back up in my closet for final touches before painting. Then, picking up the paint for my dh to paint for me. I am getting so excited about finally having a way to organize all my "stuff."

Watching a couple of netflix movies tonight and revving up to get a power of attorney for property signed by my mom tomorrow. My attorney and two witnesses will meet me at the hospital probably late morning. It will simplify things so much and I can't wait to get it off my list.

Tried to trim the dog today, and he did not like it, at all. Managed to get some length off of his coat and prep him for the groomer to shave down when the weather is better.

Hope everyone is having a great week!!!

Gkbuser I found an easy shrimp basket recipe on FB. One of those food hack videos that looked interesting to me. Boil red potatoes and corn on the cob (we cut it in 3 or 4 rings) once boiled add polish kielbasa sausage and shrimp. Sprinkle in and stir 2 tablespoons Old Bay dry seasoning, 2 tablespoons melted butter, juice from one lemon and minced garlic (we used the already minced from a jar and did 2 teaspoons). Once mixed together nicely, spoon out onto aluminum foil packets and cook in oven 8 to 10 minutes. I think total prep time was about 15 minutes. The longest thing was the potatoes boiling. It was SO good. (We had it over the weekend).

Tons of legal work today on my mom's stuff, and some on my dad's stuff too. He died in 2006. Spent the last 24 hours preparing documents, recording documents, meeting with the bank trying to get stuff organized for my mom. I am so pooped, but have bocce ball tonight at our club. I have yet to put any makeup on, and I really need a pick me up. Ran around in Puma hightops, Athleta leggings, Old Navy motorcycle jacket and a tunic, carrying a camo folder. I have nice stuff, but did not have time to get my nice briefcase out, or my nice clothes, gee what are they even for....but I did not have any time to lose.

Update: Just finished Bocce ball and took my Tamoxifen with a Magnesium chaser. I think I might have to go to physical therapy for my low back. My muscles get very tight around my hip bones and my soas muscle pulls in on the side from laying on my side. Ugh....think it is time to see my acupuncturist.

Good job, Michelle! Just so important to have these things taken care of. The "nice stuff" can wait. Brava!!

Just got in from a walk. Narcissus are blooming and so lovely. I am hoping for equally glorious tulips on Saturday. Not to mention a relatively dry day. It was so wonderful to do tonight's walk in sunshine. Mountains are so pretty as have snowy peaks.

I am a woman who enjoys a fragrant hot bath. I am so bad that when I was going through radiation, I negotiated with my nurse. I am a cyclist and she is a runner. Both of us were training for spring events and both of us were getting equally wet and chilled while out training. She agreed that I could take baths as long as I didn't soak the area that was being treated (showers don't work nearly as well when you are chilled to the bone), and SHE started taking hot baths!!

A hot bath....and some fragrant aromatherapy. Just heaven!!! I have quite the stash of magical potions.

Dinner beckons. Fortunately, I have more of the Chicken Paprikash so can reheat. Yum!!! - Claire

This week was a good week and a busy week. Glad it is behind me and my legal work for my mother is nearly done. I had my hair lowlighted today and went to dinner with dh tonight. We took a walk along the boat docks, as we just got assigned a wave runner dock. We have to move up the food chain to get a real boat house. The boat houses have parties, some are cutely decorated, and it is a very social activity. It will be fun to do progressive dinner parties on the water. Looking so forward to spending time in the fresh air and sunshine this year. Of course, I will be wearing alot of sunscreen.

Getting ready to watch some Golden Girls and Frasier, two of my favs, and I don't care that some are 30 years old. Still funny to me. Why don't they make shows like that any more? I bet the baby boomers would watch... I do love Will & Grace and usually laugh myself silly, of course, with no one else around. DH even gets mad when I mention CNN, so I try to keep my views to myself.

oh Michelle that sounds so good! I'm definitely going to try that at some point. Claire I love an ice bath too. I feel like it helps me deal with some of this joint pain from my aromatase inhibitor. But funny story about my radiation. I treated myself to a special bath bomb on the night before I was to start my radiation treatment. It was one of those fancy bath bombs that has a surprise ring in it. It was called liquid gold and it has a lot of like glitter. I didn't really think about that but, when I got all ready to get my radiation and I was laying there on the table, the tech looked at me and said ma'am you seem to have glitter on your breast. I explain what I had done and she explained I would have to go wipe that off LOL

OMG my husband kills me with his sarcasm. I was cooking Indian food and the spices were a bit pungent at first, before simmering, etc. He said, "what is that odor....it is body odor times two." I had somewhat messed up the dish in the beginning with putting cilantro in oil and reducing. Had to dump the cilantro, because it was to be used fresh, later on. I don't know why the instructions said to first cut the cilantro....what the heck. It was becoming an epic fail, so I decided to put in a sauce pan, add more rice and water, to the chicken and seasoning mixture, fluff and add tikki masala sauce. He did have a couple of bowls, and that was after I had already fed him. It was actually pretty good.

Worked on my 12 x 12 closet a bit more today, getting the walls painted, and clearing out things that I have been deciding upon. Oh, yeah, I went and bought some hair extensions that perfectly match my hair. The are human hair and 16 inches long. In Vegas they wanted $400, I bought them here at $50. Plan to use them next week for my MIL's soiree for her 80th birthday.

What a week, what a week, what a week......

Did the Tulip Pedal with my friend Jim today. Great fun, and the most gorgeous scenery. It was sunny, but quite windy which means I got a lot of exercise bracing myself so that I wasn't blown over. Sharing some of the highlights. Note the snow on the Cascade foothills. Feel so lucky to be able to do these events. Not to mention that they are brain-cleansing. Admit to being a bit stiff, even after a hot bath. - Claire

What gorgeous tulips. I downloaded one of the pics and made it my screen saver!!! I am naming it "Oh, Claire, where art thou?"

Today found me hard at work back in my closet. Scrubbing parts of the floor and cleaning up after my husband's patch of my plaster walls. I also found a 1950's pocket book up there, cleaned it up, and plan to visit my mom this week carrying it. She went to ICU after her blood pressure fell, but the meds kicked it back up. So, here I go down the rabbit hole again, just like Alice in Wonderland. She has now been in the hospital 2 months and 2 weeks on a feeding tube.

Can't wait to use my new hair extensions. Played with them last night and they are a perfect match for my hair. I have long enough hair, but I wanted it to be about 16 inches or more, and fuller for some upcoming events. My stylist can put them in, but I want to learn how to do it at home as well.
