welcome Mary-Jane, sorry you find yourself here with us but know you have found some amazing, supportive, and loving ladies here. I was in fort Meyers last April. The plan is to go again this spring if I don't end up needing chemo. My in-laws part time it in Marco island so we have a free place to stay which is nice but after a few days in the condo with them, the husband and I like to venture out alone to fort Myers!
Take it easy on yourself...you may get the nesting urge closer to surgery or maybe not but you are going through alot so go easy!
We're here for you!

pugsmama!! Yes, someone started a feb group! I kept thinking that should happen...not that I want to lose anyone but totally beneficial to be st the same stage with everyone. I don't know what I would have done without you guys when we were all preparing for surgery. Still don't know what I'd do without you as we move through the next stages.

So those who have had a reduction. It may only be me and annoyingboob. Those who are not through menapause. How you had your first period since surgery? Mine is due on Wednesday and they said my breasts may hurt worse for the first one. I always have a lot of soreness but I am getting some stabbing pains in one breast. Like a quick "wow!" and then it is over but it is on and off allday.

I've had a period since surgery. I didn't notice my boobs much, but they are never really sore. I did get a migraine at the start(typical) and it was super heavy for a good 7 days, which is a bit much but I do have small fibroids.
The boob thing I've noticed as time goes on is that they are still settling into their final size. I think now, a month out, this may be the final final size. The nipple incisions have become more sensitive with time. Not really painful, but more of an awareness that nipples are there and occasional zings, whereas before I never really noticed them on a minute by minute basis. The scars are already fading. My ps like yours said don't bother doing anything special, but I put some silicone on the other day just bc I had already bought it. Are you pleased with your reduction? My annoying boob looks great, but the 'good' one has a weird indentation medial to the nipple, so I think he sewed it a little too tight. I also feel like I have an underwire implanted under my skin - do you have that? Hoping that goes away with time, seems better this week and most noticeable when I twist. I think you are 2 weeks behind me - don't buy new lingerie yet, bc you may shrink a little more. Good luck

Sorry to meet up this way, but these ladies are amazing and you will find lots of support here.

Fightingirl-I don't want to buy pricey shirts that I wouldn't wear again either. I had high hopes of finding something soft and cute that didn't fit me like a bag or maternity tops. 5'2 with big boobs and a big ol butt makes it hard to find the just right top. I found lots of really nice straight cut tops that were stiff. I love to iron but didn't think I would be up to all that after surgery.
Annoyingboob -sometimes I think that's all I do is cook! We go out to eat maybe 2 times a month. That's usually pizza orMexican. There are not any good restaurants near us and to a grab a quick dinner out turns into 2-3 hour event. Parking waiting and the drive it's ridiculous! Plus my girl has a "puree " only diet so smushy food for her.
Time to get my circus ready for the circus!
Have a beautiful day! Prayers for painfree relaxing days for you all with a few hours without BC taking over your day!

well after I posted a bunch more post poped up. Welcome MaryJane. You will feel the love here. Cowboyup, dang I didn't think about that my boobs are still super sensitive right before my period and I should freaking start any day now. I didn't even consider that! I always schedule my mammogram around it you think I would have now....

Vargadoll and Fightingirl, I've been buying pretty plaid button downs at jcpenney. They are St Johns Bay and they are very in style. I bought them knowing I'll be able to wear them after all this is over. I bought 2 before surgery and 2 more since because they fit nice and girly. I already had 2 button downs from GAP --a pink and a blue and they are ok too but more manly. They are the boyfriend fit. If you have a jcpenny coupon, you can get them for $15

Annoyingboob, so far I really like the shape of my "new girls". In am only 2 1/2 weeks out so still have some purple glue on me. My only issues is it looks like there is some extra skin under the nipple where everything comes together. Hoping that flattens out as time goes on. Also, nipples don't look perfectly round but they look better every day. Might be hoping for too much. Bunch of large uneven scars under then breasts but know those will get better with time. Now the sentinal Node biopsy, I think that will take some time to feel better

maryjane- same day, same procedure! Foob twins or at least boob twins!
Vargadoll- I am same as ( who was it? Annoyingb? ) anyway, I didn't cook that much in whole of 2016 either. You are amazing. I found my shirts on uniqlo.com and love them, for what it's worth. I am an online shopper of excellence! I did all of Christmas while I was trying to deal with all my diagnoses and keep my mind occupied. It worked very well for me.
Sun is beautiful here today and that always makes the day better 🌞☀️ Happy sunday Sunday to all you beautiful ladies!

Vargadoll and Fightingirl: even with my limited ROM I found out pretty quickly that I could get pulllover tops on if they were really stretchy or had a zipper neck like most of my fleece tops. Put the surgical arm in first, pull it over your head, then get the other arm in - saved me from dressing in my husband's clothes forever!!
Fightingirl: could you actually see/feel your cords? I'm finding the nerve pain worse than anything - the second I get cold it fires off!!
Hope everyone has a lovely, shit fairy-free day

did-not-see, I have definitely found ways to get dressed in regular clothes! With this cording, I've had to get creative! I'm looking for button up shirts for my radiation treatment. I am having a multi-catheter brachytherapy treatment and will have "buttons" on my chest on Tuesday morning. I'm thinking since same side as my cording, it could get very tricky pulling clothes over. Also, I will be in and out of my shirt so much between radiation 2times a day and physical therapy it will save time!
Oh yes, you can see my cords! It's pretty weird. I see them and I feel them very much. I've only had one physical therapy appointment so hoping a few more this coming week will start easing up the tightness much more.
3bears, thanks for the jcpenney suggestion! The only one near me is in a mall and that area is so congested with traffic I avoid it at all costs! Sure wish I'd thought of buying them online before I need them this Tuesday!
Vargadoll, have a great time at the circus

Hello all my sisters! Whew I have had pages to catch up on. I love you all so much and have missed the shit out of each and everyone of you 😘
Such an emotional roller coaster we are all on. Please know that I have been praying and thinking of everyone of you sweet ladies. Do we have any men? I don't think we do, but I know of 2 guys in my small town that have battled BC!
To all of you brave ones that have to continue your journey with rads and chemo, I am here for you and always will be! I am a lucky one, I know. I just have to take tamoxifen for 5-10 years. I am going to ps once a week for fills. I have to say now that most of my swelling has gone done, I can feel my tissue expanders. It is not pleasant and do not like having a foreign object inside me. Now I have the TE shit fairy to deal with every night while trying to sleep. I still am confined to sleeping on my back and it is getting very old. I have back pain that I have never had before. My right nipple is still black, it's a thick scab. Ps thinks it will come around. If not, he said he'd have to start over on that side. He said I am not to worry about my boob, that is his job.
My advice to all of you still in recovery from surgery, take it easy, except help, and just concentrate on healing! I got my drain tubes out and felt like a new women. I resumed my normal crazy schedule (why I've been incognito) and it caught up with me. I was sick all day Friday. I am going back to work tomorrow but think I will keep my days short for a few weeks.
Today I am going to go to the grocery store for the first real big shopping trip since my surgery. I did run to the store not long ago to grab a few things and had to ask for help getting things off of top shelves. I will make my son or husband come with me today!
I'm not much into the super bowl but will cheer on the Falcons for my girls!
Xoxoxo
Lisa - how many Lisa's are there on here?

3bears- I didn't think about JC Penny's for me. I shop there for the kids...duh thanks for the reminder.
Yes girls I cook from scratch to! Just picture me crying blubbering I grade my own cheese how can I have cancer! Not my prudest moment in life. My neighbor has a big garden every year so we eat organic all summer and into the fall. He use to have chickens. ..I miss those free range chickens best eggs ever!
It's about time to get the clown cat loaded. Have a beautiful day. Sunshine is warm here today ti!.
Fightingirl, talk about cancer brain. Earlier I was trying to spell traffic. I couldn't even get it right enough for auto correct to figure it out abd the kids were still asleep and i couldn't use voice text because I would have woke them up. In the shower about a hour later....damn....traffic not traciff! Lord help me!

I'm hanging out with my daughter and my kitty watching TV and being lazy. Perfect since I can't move much anyway.
My hair stylist and dear friend came over to wash and dry my hair today. That was the greatest birthday gift ever. Clean hair!

It says it is 100% free and from exploring it on the internet it looks like it all types of cancer patients and some info on clinical trials and some people say they connect at night when they can't sleep . The terms of service look pretty standard , privacy protection etc. maybe I will give it whirl and see if it is useful! 👍💗 It is a social network for cancer patients

i dont think I like it. Lots of scary stories going to delete it. Plus I don't know how to get to people with similar situations. This is much better.
