Oh, man, I needed to read this thread today! I am having a wicked rash from Doxil, in my armpits and groin and creeping outward. Its like a bad sunburn and now clothing really hurts. So, I am taking a second nap on this cool and rainy day... but feeling guilty about it. Now I think I can get up and return a phone call i have been putting off, and then go out in floppy clothes to walk for 20". My husband is bringing home some lotion the onc. recommended, so maybe it will actually help. Thanks for all of your contributions here

MamaMe - How did the lotion work? Good job taking a walk!!! Do you have theories about the rash ... is it like an allergic reaction that would respond to benadryl? I know nothing about, just interested in your thinking. If you can nap at all it is a blessing.

Z~I am thinking about you and your bike incident. I am very thankful you're not injured more!! I know it's most likely bothering the heck out of you that you're hurting on top of everything else we all deal with Day in and day out. I am sending thoughts and prayers that you will feel better really soon. I haven't been running either lately. I don't know what to make of it, the longer I am on this ibrance/hormonals. The more extreme fatigue I seem to feel. It's really starting to piss me off!!!! 😞 I just want to run and excersise again. And on we go ..... ~M~

Paula~ you amaze me. You never stop. I am impressed. I can't imagine working through all of this fatigue. I would end up in the broom closet napping on the pledge in the office cleaning closet. I am useless!!! I dread emptying the dishwasher! God bless you wonderful ladies. ~M~

    Micmel,

I actually believe that exercising gets rid of the fatigue. It's hard at first, once you do it every day you gain energy, hang in, it's all good.

thank you Paula. I used to run 6 miles a day. Ibrance has stolen my energy. The longer I am on it the worse fatigue I feel. I know that the heat has a ton to do with. I don't do well in the heat. When fall comes I'll be trying to jog again. All I want to do is sleep. It's yucky! ~M~

    Micmel,

I know what you mean about the heat, some days I just push myself, try not to always go far but make myself go otherwise I would also be in bed. Just try to go a block, trust me you will feel better even if you just go a little way. Hope you loose that fatigue soon. It's cooler here today and I do feel better.

Better days are coming, keep believing

Paula~thank you. Big hugs to you! I know when the weather gets cooler I will feel more motivated, I only breathe on one lung. And the humidity zaps me. Hard to breathe. Another challenge for me. Always something!! Have a great rest of your weekend. ~M~

Micmel, so sorry to hear you struggling so much. Lack of sleep and fatigue really makes the SE of the drug you are taking hit that much harder. Hopefully, the heat will let up enough to even allow you a walk if you can't move in the house.

I have been pretty quiet of late, still mostly riding stationary bike. Bored with walking. Doing some at gym and some at home. Still approx 40 to 60 mins. Waiting for second MRI to happen in sept or so. They were concerned about nausea/vomiting so this was the first MRI since sept. I believe the spot they found was leftover tumour since it could not all be removed. We will scan again to make sure it does not grow. I personally don't believe it has there is nothing going on in my body. Currently still NED anywhere else. Only had the one met so far. Nausea and vomiting have subsided since I started taking my reflux drug and magnesium along with my breakfast instead of about an hour before. I also added frozen raspberry juices everyday and this keeps my plumbing working they way it should and boosts my reflux drug. Currently not dealing with much other than that.

I am still following you guys though even though I'm not posting and am inspired by the people working and moving as much as possible. Micmel, I hope this turns around for you soon, so tough when it is a struggle. Hugs and love out to you.

Have a good remainder of the weekend all.

she's still recovering from her fall. We all seem to have hit the brick wall, except for you Paula. I have seen her in ibrance and bone mets. She's healing slowly. But still giving her wonderful information and help to everyone. I am always sending prayers her way. (As well yours) PM her if you want. Then she'll know you're thinking of her 😊 I just want her to heal! I just want her to be ok! ~M~

Hi all. I am still healing from my fall off a bike. I am back to walking up a hilly trail about 40 minutes a day, but too much pain to attempt yoga or anything involving my upper body. Busy getting my kids setup to go back into school and re-working my diagnostic and treatment strategy. Doing okay. Thank you all for thinking of me.

Way to go Mara with the exercise!!! You are dealing with a lot, just dealing with it well. Any theories about why you have nausea and vomiting?

Paula - You are now the leader of our scraggly group! What spirit you have. I am not doing all that bad, but the pain from the fall combined with a lot going on keeps me quiet.

    Micmel - Hugs to you,.

    Keep moving ladies.

Hello ladies. I'm doing well with walking as my primary cardio. However, I'm not a fan of cold weather. I know that I'll slack off when winter arrives here in Wisconsin. I think that the best option for me is a treadmill at home. (I know that I'll find excuses to avoid the 10-mile drive to the gym.) Put a treadmill in front of the TV and log into Netflix, and I know I can put on the miles. Can anyone recommend a specific brand? Are there certain features that I should look for? What other home equipment should I pick up before the snow falls.

Z, I think it was caused more by taking rabeprazole on an empty stomach. I did not put two and two together until I decided to try taking it with food. When I did try it with food and every morning since, I am not nauseous or vomiting now. I also added a cup of frozen raspberries to my blender with wheatbran as well for the fiber and alkaline properties. The raspberries AND rabeprazole seem to have taken care of my reflux which also may have been a culprit behind the nausea. All I know is I feel good and hope it continues. I will have another MRI in september to make sure the spot has not grown. We now suspect the spot that showed up was where my original tumour was. It was not able to be completely removed during surgery but I believe radiation knocked it out. I have no symptoms now so I don't really see how it could have grown without my noticing it.

I also want to apologize for missing the posts about your fall, hope everything gets on track for you soon Z.

30mins stationary bike at home today.

Midwest Laura, I like precor models of treadmill myself. Well made and they last a long time. My gym has them and I like them. I found a link to a place that should be close to you. Not sure on pricing as I did not search pricing on the particular models. Link is below

    Hi Ladies,

1mile walk this morning then ran errands, onto grocery shoping, mailing bills. Washing clothes at laundry more shopping, went to a estate sale, bought a bed, made super and know I am so exhausted I can't do anything. Why so much energy all day and just seemed to run out of gas all at once, does anyone else get this?

Hi Everyone! Sorry for being MIA lately. Been having a busy summer with work and with family vacations. I haven't been nearly as active as usual, but still trying to get out there. I actually went for a run on Saturday and then a 10 mile bike ride with my family on Sunday. A good walk Monday and Tuesday. Nothing today yet, but i might squeeze one in between rain storms. No mountain biking though as I see that can cause some serious injuries, Z! Gosh, I hope you are healing quickly and feeling better.

My family and I took a relaxing lake vacation. Did lots of swimming, yoga and sailing, but not a lot of walking. I'm working on getting back into it. It's so easy to fall off the wagon!

Good to see you all still getting out there. I'll try to be around a bit more and cheer everyone on!

I'm at the gym four or five days each week and walk at least once/day, too. No yoga for me (mets in spine so all sorts of things I can't do) but I stretch several times/day. I think being active makes a huge difference, and I love the feeling of working up a good sweat. When the side effects get bad, I'm down to once or twice each week at the gym - I hate that but I need to conserve my energy. Zarovka, thanks for starting this thread - I'm sooooo glad I found it and that there are others like me out there - hello to all of you!!

yup. Yoga may not be the best thing for bone Mets. Great job.

After a 2 months slump in energy and exercise and a bike accident I had a good day. Little pain. 25,000 steps. And away we go ...

VancouverDeb: It's interesting that you knew to stay away from yoga due to the spine mets. I have mets throughout my spine and into my ribs. I started yoga earlier this year when I was on big-guns chemo. It seemed like the logical thing to do. After I moved to Letrozole & Ibrance my joint pain increased tremendously. Not just in my back, but all over. I assumed it was the letrozole and the lack of estrogen that the was responsible. Then in late June I started to slack off on the yoga and never got back to it. Surprise, surprise. I started to feel better. Now, Im just a little stiff if I've been sitting too long. I thought yoga was going to be the great cure for the missing estrogen. I never considered that it could make me feel worse.

Maybe I'll try Tai Chi instead.

Hi midwest, me staying away from yoga started when I went to a yoga class (pre-diagnosis). Was a 'gentle' one. There were things I could do and things I couldn't do. And then the instructor would have has gently move one limb here and gently move another limb there and then move a hand here and - oh yuck - I'm a human pretzel and I'm STUCK. Tried going a couple of times, thinking I might magically become more flexible (Yes! I will be Deb the yoga goddess!) due to my efforts - but no. So no more yoga for me.

Tai Chi sounds good (flowing chi without awkward poses?).
