Awesome stats, llmae! Better than mine have looked the past few days! I finally got out for a decent walk and hit 10,000 plus steps today after four days of inactivity. I was craving it and so out of sorts yesterday because I hadn't gotten any decent exercise. Makes a big difference in my mood for sure!

    Nice job Illimae!

I've been getting a solid step count moving furniture and cleaning and walking around Home Depot ... going through one of my periodic nesting rituals. It seems like every year I create some major renovation/housing/move thing. This year it has taken the form of a condo that I felt needed me to turn it into a vacation rental. You'd think that dealing with cancer I would have the sense to avoid this compulsion ...

But no real exercise. My back is killing me and I cannot do the 12 hour days I used to do on these projects. Deflated around 2pm and got through 4 episodes of the original twin peaks, which I somehow missed at the time.

We're in the 90's here during the day in NM. It's a pretty much a June only thing here, so nobody has air conditioning. Today it is still hot at 4pm which is different. I assumed I was having an hour hot flash until I looked at the thermometer and realized it was just hot.

Great job lllmae! Great numbers! Hope your foot gets better soon! Summer has finally arrived here in Vancouver! I haven't been able to get those type of numbers due to fatigue.. My daughter and I are headed to the San Juan Islands this week, plenty of walking in my near future.

I am so inspired by illimae's published stats! Plus hearing about your industriousness, Z, and DG's mileage... I will post the next bit of exercise I get. It is definitely the energy-creator, if not overdone. And I seldom over do exertion!

Hi MameMe ... looking forward to your report. What is your plan?

I did get out for a 1 hour hike before the temperature rose this morning. Thinking maybe some ab work will happen ...

    Hi everyone

Checking back on this thread after short absence. I am still in active THP tx so exercising is a little up and down week one but thereafter I am managing 7-10K steps most days.

Just had a Lymphedema appointment and my arm is about 11% bigger. Hardly any leap from the previous highest reading which was 10. Steroids and a recent, unusual heatwave here in the U.K are contributing factors. New sleeve ordered and hope to start in a gym/ swimming once I finish the Taxotere and move onto maintenance HP.

I get scan results today and will post on the shadow is recurrence thread.

    Love to you all

    Liz

Z~ sorry that your back is hurting. It certainly can put a wrench in your plans. I was having awful back pain last month. I was going crazy about it. It really does knock you down. Amazing that you're able to keep on doing what you're doing with this condo! I'm sure with your touch it will come together the way you had hoped ! I went to see my pallative care doctor and she issued me a prescription for my one boob prosthesis, although it's not mine nor real. It helped level out my back to where My posture resembles what it used to before the mastectomy. The weight makes me stand up straighter which I hadn't even recognized could be an issue. I was all outta whack. I realize you didn't have a mastectomy, but with all the work you're doing and moving things around. Be careful with your back!! I realized how weak my back had become because of these darn mets. Just take care and I hope your project is going just as you wanted it too (less the back pain of course). I am sure the night time heat doesn't help either! Will be sending you thoughts of strength!(not that you really need it. Clearly you have it!!!). I can relate to the house issue. We just had the entire house redone in carpet. Moving all that stuff is hard work. Those are totally excersise workouts!! Putting an entire house together is hard work!!!! Hugs ~M~

Nice stats, Illimae. I especially like the up arrows. Ronnie, photos, please. Z, no airconditioning here, too. I cooled down by biking in the woods. Micmel, glad you got the foob and that it helps. Liz, great stepping. Hope the scans were good (I will check the other thread).

I bought myself a subscription to the zoo so I could hangout in an airconditioned restaurant and use the bathroom when I bike in the surrounding woods. This chameleon from Madagascar was hanging out in the shade.

Thanks ladies :) I'm doing my best to get in one more good week before surgery (lumpectomy) on Tuesday. I expect i to slow me down but not for long!

    Go, Mae!

I have slowed down in the past 6 weeks or so, finding that Doxil is sapping my energy as has a lingering case of Lyme disease. I started antibiotics for that and felt awful for the first few days. Today I feel some slight clearing, so hoping for better energy soon. I did 2 miles brisk walking yesterday morning, which is a plus. This morning, I showered and washed hair, then just wanted to crash. Disappointing!

Cheering everyone's efforts to do what you can to keep moving, love, Mame

Illmae: you go girl!  Prepping for surgery is like cramming for a college exam.  Push, push, push all the way until the end.  You'll be glad that you did.  I hope that you have smooth sailing and quick healing with your upcoming surgery.

MameMe: Lyme Disease?  Ugh!  That can be nasty and long lasting.  I hope that you were able to catch it early, and that you are able to get on top of it.  That's the last thing that you need on top of all that you're going through.  I wish you well.

I use a step tracker called Ringly. The best part about it is it looks like a pretty bracelet. But you have to read it on a phone phone app and they have to be connected and in somewhat close proximity. It doesn't have the bells and whistles of a Fitbit, which I found large and cumbersome, but if you want a simple step tracker that's pretty, it's good for that. I happily used it for about 4 weeks, then I got bored with it. It was nice to get an idea of how much I walk. After a while, you can almost gage your day without atracker.

Laura, Thanks for th encouragement. I always thought Lyme was a quagmire into which I would never fall, but here I am. So much controversy surrounds it. All other tests for neurological symptoms came up empty, so they want to try this treatment and see if it works.

I was a mess yesterday, sat most of the day. Today I am more cheerful, plan some outdoor repotting of tomato seedlings, and a walk.

Stefa, I agree with you about light and pretty for trackers, the big wrist ones are sweaty. I also can gauge my distance pretty accurately now, without measuing. What I like about the device is that it can track all day and help measure those little stpes I take around the house or yard or town, when I don,t take a formal walk. Some times I am on my feet for hours, and yet there are very few steps logged in. That is frustrating! It gets me going, though.

    MameMe,

I had Lyme disease back in the early 90's and researched it for 4 yrs. What are you taking for it?

Illimae, good luck on the surgery.

Mame, hope the doxycycline works for the Lyme problems. It is also supposed to kill cancer cells according to some animal and lab studies. So you could be hitting two birds with one stone.

I like that the Fitbit counts my dance steps.

Today I did a HIIT workout with DD but forgot to wear the Fitbit.

Surgery went well and I should be released in a couple of hours, until then I'm walking laps around the nurses station.

    MameMe,

When antibiotic for Lyme diseas makes you feel worse it's called a hirkimers reaction, kills bacteria til you pee them out good sign means it's working

Glad surgery went well, llmae. I hope you are feeling stronger and better with each passing day. I wish that for all of us!

I actually have been feeling really good, and this week I was really good about getting out on the walks and getting in my 8000 steps per day. It helps that the weather has been ideal here.

I realized today just how much I need that daily walk. I was going to skip it today. I've had a really busy week, and I hadn't had enough water to drink all day, and my dinner was unusually heavy so I just didn't feel great. But, I knew I needed to get those steps in, or I would regret it. I started off walking and thought I would just go no more than a mile, but after about 15 minutes, I started feeling so much better. By the time I was finishing my walk, I had gone two miles, and I was feeling so content and so grateful and amazed at the difference one little walk can make. It is totally worth getting my butt out of the chair to do it.

Same here on the walk. I've been running around carrying boxes and cleaning and moving furniture, but not exercise. Tip toeing back into a routine this week. My goal is to walk in a meditative focused walk for some period and do 30 minutes of yoga per day. Just starting and so many symptoms have decreased immediately. Sleeping better. It take so little exercise to achieve so much but it also takes so little to get off track.

    Illimae - you do rock.

I am so proud of my wife. She ran 3 miles yesterday! She's been running for around 2 weeks now. Quite a few 2 milers. Hasn't run since well over a year. The xeloda just wouldn't let her.

Holy cow. That is awesome. It will do her so very much good. Try to inspire a steady moderate routine ... where moderate changes from day to day.

I am not running. I blame the heat. But headed to Colorado this week where it is a lot cooler...

Yay to the wife, husband11. She really rocks. DGHoff, ThumbsUp. Z, great idea with the meditative walk. Thinking of doing a qi gong walk myself. Got started running again yesterday but just 2K. Baby steps.
