The walking place to place will not kill me but I wish health officials would knock off the wipe down with disinfecting wipes. Not many people have or can get them anymore. Even laundry supplies from amazon can be hard to get from time to time. Thankfully, I got in the habit of picking something up when I was shopping for other things.

Well, I finished the audible book of Mr. Mercedes by Stephen King. I have the other two books in audible format as well. Think I will do another short story from if it bleeds and then move on to another long book. Only story I cannot read from If It Bleeds is the title of the same name. Apparently, there are 3 more books to read before that one.

Mel, I totally agree. Really into the creepy stuff right now. I just watched the changeling from 1980. Good movie, creepy but with no real jumpscares or anything, just a bit of a scary story that is supposedly based on a true story.

I am also watching NOS4ATU on primevideo and uploaded on primevideo right now. Enjoying them both. The first show is based on Stephen King's son Joe Hill's writing.

Bleach diluted makes a decent cheap antiseptic spray... I use that for soles of my shoes after being out, doorknobs, etc.

My hack was using baby wipes and spiking them with rubbing alcohol....

candy-678: you asked me for the date on my scans and I forgot to respond. Sorry

My scans are Wednesday. I am not sure when I will have the results. My next MO appointment isn’t for a couple of weeks. Typically, once MO signs them they are posted to my portal. I then read them from the portal.

Trouble is cannot get bleach lately at any grocery store near me and amazon is not selling proper bleach either. Hopefully that normalizes too. Don't mind the idea of things opening up at some point with the number of customers in the stores at the same time reduced and more spacing, that may help on a permanent basis. Not just for covid, but cold and flu season. Just want supply to catch up and demand to relax a bit on the disinfecting products. For now I will wash shopping bags in my washer, steam my masks inside and out and wash hands.

Ok, so my rant--but on the same topic as Mara and Mel....

So let's just open up things---go out and golf, go to the movies, concerts, restaurants, festivals. I don't care what people want to do anymore. Let the public go out and spread the virus. JUST LET ME BUY MY GROCERIES !!!!! I Ordered on Walmart for pick up service AND went to Dollar Store during high risk group hour. No Cat Litter. No canned Green Beans. No Butter. Limit 1 on TP. Limit 1 on paper towels. I am going to stay inside no matter what opens up, due to this damn cancer. But when will the stores be stocked again????? People cannot still be hoarding, right?! And kids will be out of school anyway for summer break soon. So why the lack of items in the stores???!!!!!! I am over this. Cannot go out and have a life anymore and cannot have the items I need in the house. Lysol--never. Disinfecting wipes--never. But, come on, no butter or green beans. What the crap.

Candy, that sounds worse than even what is short on Amazon. Our grocery stores seem to have caught up on basic food staples. We have the ones your stores seem to be short on. Our instacart is also back to being reasonable. I got my order today in 2 hours. Tried it because I needed vinegar to beef up my fabric softener. I use a 50/50 mix for laundry and beans, queso and tortilla chips with packages of shredded cheese. Also got chocolate. This was from Walmart. My driver got everything I ordered and it is cheap from our Walmart, even in Canada. The only thing impossible to get was more bleach, but I do not mind hunting it down at the store this afternoon. I also discovered that the driver tip defaults to only 5 percent of the order. Delivery people from restaurants get more than that. Since they are doing the shopping and shlepping it up to my building, I upped the amount. Just wanted the delivery as vinegar is difficult to carry without a car.

I understand that even when the economy opens up it will still be different than it was before with spacing and everything becoming normal. That is probably good. It will just be better when people realize that the supply chain of food and essentials won't close and really never did. Limits also allowed people to finally get toilet paper and paper towels and such. We just need on the disinfecting supplies like wipes and alcohol pads. For now, my countertop is getting a steam clean at the end of the day to sanitize the surface with my clothing steamer. I originally bought that to steam my longer wigs to keep them smooth looking instead of ratted and frizzy. Never would have realized in a few years, disinfectant and that would be hard to get.

Just doing the laundry, sitting around doing surveys for money and probably will continue listening to my audible book The Life of Chuck from the If it Bleeds anthology. Weird story, a lot of people on facebook had trouble following that one although I am pretty sure I know what is going on. Won't check if I'm right until I finish this short story. Other than that, I have nothing firm planned.

Candy, similar experience for me again this morning. Ordered $104 worth of groceries- got $42 worth. No canned corn, no frozen veggies, no butter, no canned tomato products, no cleaning products, etc.

So tired of cleaning grocery items before bringing them inside

Read this morning an article hypothesizing that CoVid19 could attach itself to air pollution. Geez.

We will eventually get a vaccine so even if it is in the air, we will eventually have some protection. I am still encouraged by the work being done in my city on a treatment for people with severe covid that is inflaming their organs. It is a dialysis machine modified to take out the blood and reprogram the white blood cells to fight the inflammation.

    https://london.ctvnews.ca/world-first-covid-19-dialysis-treatment-comes-from-canadian-research-team-doctors-say-1.4927659

Pretty sure that I posted this here but I still am going to leave the link anyway. Not a cure but a chance to lower risk of death by quite a bit.

I am staying in today I think. It is kind of cold and really not interested in going out. Just having my usual good meals. Made up a batch of beans, two burgers, one beef, one chicken and spinach finely chopped. Put them all together without seasoning. Makes for quicker meals and I can simply put cheese on top when I want or just use queso with seasoned bran mixed and tiny bit of tortilla chips. I got 5 small meals out of this combo using just one can of beans, 1 chicken burger, 1 beef burger and a handful of spinach. That really stretches my grocery budget. Most expensive stuff is the queso and tortilla chips but they last a few meals as well.

I also treated myself to chocolate in the Walmart delivery. Decided I SHOULD be able to discipline myself NOT to eat the whole chocolate bar since I have not devoured my pudding or cool whip. We will see how it goes. If I am disciplined then I will buy them again. If not, then I can't have them. I may walk a lot, but I do not walk enough to support the amount of sweets I was eating.

I have also finished another story in if it bleeds. I will need to read other books first so that I can follow the story better. That is no problem, am really enjoying listening to books. Lots of fun..

Does anyone have experience with lower leg bruises/ulcers? Ive had bruising in one leg (achilles area - non-cancer side) since last September. I went to the GP concerned about blood clots as I had just gotten off a long haul flight. They said no, not clots maybe varicose veins, but the bruises have remained - sometimes they are more red if I've been moving around or standing/sitting. Now tonight I was just cooking and twisted that leg a certain way and OH MY GOD there is a new bruise down there with a small open sore in the middle. I didn't bump into anything that I remember but was thinking last night it felt itchy and I needed to wrap up my leg for some compression. I slapped some cream and a bandaid on it for tonight, wrapped it up with an ace bandage, and have my legs elevated. Guess I better call this in to the cancer nurse on Monday, and of course I am between GPs since we moved.

Most women turn into their mothers as they age - I seem to be turning into my father.

    Hi Ladies,

I’m a technology misfit so please forgive me if my posts are in the wrong place.

When I was first diagnosed with breast cancer in 2005 that led to 2 lumpectomies and finally a mastectomy of the left breast. My husband told me he would never leave me. I thought that was the craziest thing he’d ever said because the thought of him leaving me never crossed my mind. He told me about one of the guys he worked with that had said he was sorry to hear about my cancer and asked him if he was going to stay with me. He said he had left his wife years before because she had cancer and that was too much for him to handle. So weak. When I lost all my hair and was surprised to find out I have a lovely shaped head my husband shaved his head because he didn’t want me to feel alone. We were quite the shiny couple! He’s such a good guy. He makes me laugh every single day. He retired in 2013 while I continued to work, which I loved, at our local animal shelter until 2015 when the cancer reared it’s ugly head again. I was shocked to say the least. My left breast had been removed how can I have cancer in something that’s not there? Apparently there was enough tissue to allow for a return performance. Surgery, radiation, no chemo this time. Through it all, there he was, being my hero. I left work so we could spend more time together. We traveled across the country to see our son, we took a few cruises and just liked hanging around together. In 2017 I found myself sobbing to him because now the cancer has landed in the humerus bone of my right upper arm. Ibrance & Faslodex...I’m on a very good track. My numbers are good and except for extreme fatigue life goes on. Because of the Coronavirus he does all the grocery shopping that we call hunting and gathering because we’re never exactly sure what he’s going to find at the store. I’m blessed to have this wonderful man in my life.

GoodMorningSunshine, welcome to Mel's living room as we have come to call it and welcome. You are certainly in the right place. We talk a lot about different things, daily life, support each other when life is hard. It is a friendly and busy place to be and all of us will welcome you as we come along. If you mention a scan, we will all be in your pocket supporting you and a lot of other things. You and your husband sound very good and I am glad you have someone like that in your life. Though I am sorry the cancer reared its ugly head again, I am happy to meet you.

I also enjoy typing your username. Makes me happy doing it.

GoodMorningSunshine~My dh sounds a lot like your dh. I feel guilty sometimes because I cannot be the same person, the one he fell in love with. Not this sick version that has like you said extremely severe fatigue It the Ibrance dance. But it's a miracle drug really for some. I'm happy you shared your story, as I read along I could picture the solidarity a couple feels. You either get stronger. Or you don't make it. Have to be strong men to hunt!!! My dh is out hunting right now. We're both very very lucky ladies. Welcome to my second home. Hope to see you fill a chair in our living room. Micmel and friends !

Sondra ~I do bruise easily and some never heal. But keep a good eye on that for signs of infection. Half the time I don’t know what the heck I do to myself! I’m a walking obstacle course.

Sondra, I'd definitely bring this to your GPs or MOs attention. This may be as sign of diabetes. You'd need blood work for fasting glucose and A1C to check that.

This doesn't sound right to me so I would keep pursuing until you get an answer. It could also be neurological with the itchiness....

I hate to bring this up, Sondra, but as a veteran of dozens of skin cancers, sometimes they itch. Or, more likely, could be a bug bite of some kind because some tiny bites do leave a large surrounding red mark (ticks, spiders).

I get a lot of bruises, always at table height.... because I rush and cut my corners too close!

it almost time for bed again. I’ve done nothing today. I am useless. I don’t even know if I would call myself helpful in anyway. All I want to do is sleep and watch tv. I have no energy or drive. Round number #43 Ibrance started a few days ago and wham. I’m in zombie land. Yawning all the time. Don’t even want to let the dogs out.I miss my energy and I miss my old fulll of life get to the gym. Kick some ass and clean the entire house in one day, instead I’m reduced to rubble. Sleepiness and tiredness. Not painful much. Just extreme fatigue I can’t shake. I’ve learned this is my new normal. I’ll take it. Don’t think I’m un grateful. I’m not. Just don’t want cancer anymore. None of us do. Sucks

Mel, I am sorry this cancer is making you so fatigued. Hard to live like that for sure. Wish I could send you some spare energy, just to perk up a bit. Hugs my friend.

Mara~ty for the offer of some energy! I wish I could take you up on it. I know it’s a side effect of Ibrance and cancer in general.

Hello Santa~Hope all is well. Good to see you here!

Waving to Candy and to Moth. good advice about the red sore leg. Can’t overlook anything these days. They told me it was a cyst. Don’t worry young woman. Not a cyst. Not in the least. Still in shock no matter how long it was!!!

Just checking in and doing ok. I wanted to offer a TV recommendation, Upload on Prime. It’s a funny show about a future where the dying can be uploaded to a virtual afterlife, it also includes a sweet romance and a mystery. DH and I finished it tonight and are sad that there’s no more episodes yet but we liked it a lot. Tomorrow we start season 2 of Dead to me on Netflix, also great.

Mae~Hi!!! Good too see you! I loved dead to me! Can't wait to start that. We are stretching ozark 3season. Loving that. Always need good shows to watch. Just finished. Justified and shameless season 9 , starting a show called the stranger. On Netflix. So far it's good. Hope you’re feeling well!

Mae, Dead To Me. Oh yeah. I enjoyed the first season and now and making Hub watch the second season with me. He gets tired and has to go to bed and says, "Don't you watch that without me!"   I hope you are doing a bit better every day.

Micmel, I was disappointed to hear that Fiona (the actress) has left the cast of Shameless. She was utter brilliance in that role. What a broad! I LOVE her! I have a hard time picturing that show without her.

    Hi to all.

Thanks ladies - Dr Google (I know, i know!) suggests this could potentially be veinous insufficiency. Why its only on one leg, who knows but this is the leg that has been taking all the weight for almost a year as the cancer impacted the stability of the other leg. Ill call it in tomorrow first thing and see what they say - doesn't help that there is literally nothing else to do these days but sit around at home!
