Hi Mara, sorry you're feeling down today, I think we all have those days when everything is just blah and nothing feels appealing, I usually just go with it and tell myself I'm allowed this day, tomorrow will be better.
Mel, its so different these days, I was out of home on my own at 18 but it seems that todays young ones are staying home a lot longer, which is fine to a degree if they pull their weight and its not just sons that can be slobs daughters can be just as bad. Maybe he could look for shared accommodation, that could make him learn to pull his weight as flatmates wouldn't put up with him not doing his share. Whatever you decide I hope it's a peaceful resolution.

KBL~It's not going to be fun. But I don’t know what else to do. I don't mean tomorrow. But within a year should be fair I think.
Rosie.; don't worry about talking about what's going on with you unless you don't feel like posting twice what's going on. We care very much. About you. So don't even worry about that. I have had a full liver resection so I know some things about the liver as well.
Hello to all hope all is well with everyone. I'm just getting my footing from this covid contamination. We are still being extra careful. He stayed away from us all for the rest of the entire weekend. Probably didn't hurt. But I'm hopeful he will go back to work tomorrow. He is definitely better. Thank goodness ! Trying to work on forgiving that close person to me for what happened. They seemed to pick up they were a little harsh. I hope it lasts. I don't want that shit again. Rest well. I'm going to try to bea insomnia tonight and go to bed early. I hope you all sleep well. Hugs to all!

Mel, glad to hear your son is doing better. Going to bed now too and goodnight everyone.

Insomnia strikes again!!

Mel that sucks, it's only 3pm down here so I'm usually around and up when you're all asleep.

Mel, as was said, so you don’t feel it’s just boys, my daughter lived with us into her 20s and was just horrible at cleaning her room. My husband used to get so mad, I told him not to walk by anymore. She is out and married with a baby, and their house is always spotless. I knew that would happen. Lol.
I had insomnia two nights in a row and had had coffee in the afternoon, so I won’t be doing that anymore. I have this thing lately where I fall asleep, and no sooner do I fall asleep, I wake right back up. I don’t get that at all. Sorry you’re having trouble, Mel. I don’t doubt it’s because you’re going through so much

I had some visitors todayThis is a kookaburra, they sound like they are laughing. I'm in a cage so it's hard to see but there is a mother kangaroo and her joey.

Good morning all! Just returned yesterday from a little bit of heaven. Finally got to go visit my DD, SIL & grandkids. Best time was with darling granddaughter who’s almost four. Lots of hugs, playing princess, games and coloring. Our dogs had a blast with their golden in all the snow and getting lots of attention from everyone. It was the perfect storm when our grandson tested positive for COVID a few weeks back (was a symptomatic) and the whole family had to quarantine until 12/31. Was the only way my MO felt it was safe for a visit. The trip was just what my soul needed.
Kitty - sorry you’re still in the hospital but I sure like the sound of your MO.Moth - a very Happy Birthday!
Pocket duty with some homemade German stollen and coffee.

KBL,
Back atcha. Pocket duty for CT. And for anyone else who needs it.
Mel,
Maybe you could sit him down and help him with a plan to find a place by the time he’s 25. I think that approach might make it an easier discussion. Just a thought.
Mae,
I meant to say how sweet your babies are in that picture. It really is hard to raise them and then lose them.
Mara,
I hope today is a better day for you. I’m really hoping they start rolling out a plan for vaccine distribution soon. We all need a break from this virus nightmare. Hang in there, my friend.

Sunshine - so very sorry about your furpup’s decline. It is an unhappy decision to have to make. Been there too many times but still continue to have dogs in our home as the love and companionship far exceeds the last ultimate act on their behalf. HUGS

Hi everyone! I'm just back from a long camping trip. We have a group that camps every New Year. Lots of outside time (socially distant) and laughter.
I've been reading (for hours - lol) to catch up with everyone.
Kitty - I'm sorry you are in hospital and missing seeing your granddaughter. I hope you get out of there soon! Your pics out the window are fun.
Mel - I'm glad your son is over the COVID. Something we did with our son was charge rent (when not in college or working at a job with future potential); we held the money for when he moved out... a sort of enforced savings plan. I'm sorry, too, that you're daughter is having trouble. Some lessons they just need to learn themselves.
Booboo, I hope this work out for your dh. Please keep taking care of yourself, in whatever way you think is appropriate, as your priority.
Pocket duty for scans -KBL, booboo, and anyone else I missed.
Happy belated birthday to moth.
Waving at Candy, Mara, Rosie, Tanya, Mae, Goldens, Sunshine, Sandibeaches, BevJen, Sondra, and everyone else!

Micmel, I’m here. Been walking and back on Fitbit, doing really well. Unfortunately, DH is making me crazy! He’s been feeling very weak lately and had a virtual appointment today. Trying to schedule a covid test, ugh. Also, I’ve asked his doc for a referral for testing of early onset dimentia. It’s unlikely but so was my cancer diagnosis, so I’m just trying to rule that out. He forgets lots of things, putting food away, throwing trash away instead of leaving it lying around, can’t find anything, increasingly frustrated and irritable. I don’t want that for him but it’s also a big concern for me. Should the day come when brain mets affect my cognitive function, I can have him leave the stove on or forget me at a store or something.

Mae, so sorry about what you are dealing with. Definitely think you need this assessed so you know for sure. In yours and DH pocket.
Sorry about your dog sunshine as well.
Mel, the bracelet is lovely
I am not up to too much today. Did already walk on the treadmill 30 mins and pedal the elliptical 30 mins. Need a shower and wig since waiting for a delivery. Buying a second portable washer as well to do blanket day quicker. Both should fit in the bathtub.

Hello all. I have been reading your posts.
KBL- Pocket duty for CT on Tuesday.
Kitty- Neat pics of the wildlife outside your window.
Waving to everyone.

Mae~I would be very concerned as well.....good idea to be proactive... just like you said. With our cancer, I was told ohh stage 3 at most . Um not so much doc. I hope he's just doing too many things at once. I am thinking about you both. I'll tell you. It's never a dull moment around here. It's supposed to be the start of a great new year with no crap. My step fathers heart attack. Your concern for DH. Kitty in the hospital. People scanning, waiting for results. We need a good few string of years here. These last 5 have been difficult.

I have a CT scan coming on Monday next week. Not feeling nervous about anything as there have not been any changes in my body that I can feel. I'll still take pocket from people though I may not hear anything until Feb 3 rd unless the doctor calls with results. If it goes over a week, I will not worry.
Mae, I still think looking into your husband sooner as opposed to later will be better in the long run if there is something going on to offer treatment earlier if need be. Would be nice to know it is just forgetfulness which can be handled at home. In both of your pockets as needed.
Got a lot of phone calls done today, filled a prescription, it was delivered an hour later, had to call my credit card company, took over an hour and book a port access for the CT scan next monday. Looking forward to the second washer coming, planning to keep it in the tub and will do more blankets at the same time.

Mel - that bracelet is gorgeous, what a beautiful etching of Tag! I hear what you are saying about the last five years being so totally crap. And not even from an illness point of view, its like the world tilted a different direction in 2015 and every successive year since has been worse.
Mae - best to be in a proactive position for sure, I hope it turns out ok.
Kitty - I think that may challenge Mae's wildlife photos!
Today was MO and treatment marathon and it was exhausting. Five hours from leaving home to returning, mostly because there was a backup as it was the first Monday of the month after the holidays. I figured as much so I didn't get bent out of shape, but it makes for a long long day, even WITH special cupcake purchase afterwards as a treat. The streets were pretty quiet and the tube was empty and everyone had masks on properly so I felt safe enough, but you never know. Numbers looking good, scans coming end of month (Candy - will let you know when I have the updated date, it'll be CT and full spine MRI), cleared for vaccine when offered by GP (likely Oxford which I am not keen on, but needs must I guess).
I dropped my hospital tote at home and walked over to the pharmacy to get my letrozole for the next two months, get Cancer done for the month, maybe pick up a few things (like Pepto!). Mayhem inside - maybe 12 people in the checkout line, more people strolling in with a coffee in hand (one couple marched in with a dog on a leash!) like it was a day out at the beach. The pharmacist was able to sort me out quick so I bailed and bought the rest of what I needed online.
Oh and we've just been locked in our houses again for another six weeks at least. Eh, we are ok with that, its too cold and nasty outside anyway. I just hope that in six weeks everything is on the upswing.
Take care everyone!0 -
Count me in too Mara. I made a cheesecake when I was at my sister’s house, so cheesecake in your pocket

Good morning everyone, great to see that some of you have had a nice break away.
Mae, i truly hope its just taking on too much that has your dh acting out of the norm, but it's a good idea for testing and also that he's not resistant to it as a lot of men are won't to be.
Mel, that truly is a lovely bracelet, whoever engraved it has captured him perfectly.
Sign me up for pocket duty, it will just be me as I don't think anyone wants hospital cookies and coffee.
Sondra, I hope this latest lock down helps to get on top of this. I feel for all of you up there, it seems out of control in some states.
Mara, I hope you had a better day today.
Well gotta go, I'm about to be poked and prodded again, bye for now.

Pocket duty tomorrow for KBL, Thurs (I think) for Booboo, next Mon for Mara, any anyone else I missed. Bringing someHershey’s Almond Kisses, my new fave.
Sondra, Glad you’re ok with your lockdown and the cancer stuff (good term for it) is done for another month. We have a drugstore that also has a lot of groceries very close to us and it’s always busy. Haven’t seen dogs inside yet though.Mae, thinking of you and hoping hubs is ok.
Mel, thanks for the reminding me that we all care about each other and anything we have going on is fine to post. I do care a lot about everyone here 😊, and this is the first place I read on BCO.0 -
Rosie~that makes me very happy. This is my second home. I love having all of you here. I know I’m not alone.

Thank you for the pocket duty, everyone. I really appreciate it.
I am also here for pocket duty as well for Mara and Sondra and anyone I may have missed. It’s a busy time with scans.
Mae, I’m sorry your husband is having some issues. I hope it’s nothing serious.
Mel, love the bracelet.
I’ve been watching my grandson today, and it’s amazing how much I miss after a few hours away.
Kitty, good to hear from you. I hope you’re getting better by the day
I’ll keep you posted on results.

Thanks KBL, it is very special to me. I was touched.

Thanks ladies, I appreciate the well wishes. DH isn’t bothered by my insistence to the doc and I suspect it’s more of a not paying attention thing but best to know for sure and maybe he just needs medical help keeping his focus. I’m past the point of being annoyed by him leaving food out, empty food bags on the counter and misplacing nearly everything he touches, now I just want it resolved.
Reporting for pocket duty too 😁
