oh no Mara!!!!! I’m sorry sweetheart, my DH just said to me a few days ago, our washer was on it’s last leg. It’s always something that needs to be done or fixed. Sorry that it broke. I hope it doesn’t inconvenience you too much. I hate that.

Moth - sorry to hear you have been hit hard. Sometimes getting out of bed to pee is like climbing Mt. Everest! Rest, recover, eat and take those meds!

Pocket duty for all and I will be eating more than my share of the coco balls that Mel made!

Love, hugs and white light to all.

Runor~they are heavenly delight. Inside has chocolate powder and marshmallows. It make for a chocolately coffee. I can't wait till morning. To have it. Not easy to make from what I gather. I did not make it. My dd has a baker friend and that is why my ass is fat. Lol. (It's not that bad but we do like her sweets) cookies are coming as well, decorated eggs cookies. God help me. I can see the weight already. Ugh!

SO many terrible, unpressed black suits on every tv station - I went for a walk and someone had a massive 52 inch tv tuned to a home shopping channel and even THAT presenter had on a black suit. Guess I will buy some papers tomorrow morning at the corner shop to tuck away - I still have the ones for Diana and Brexit.

Mel, surprisingly I was not overly upset about the washer. I still have a clip on bucket washer and another spin dryer. I am not buying anymore of what I had before. Don't want to waste any more money.

I just caught up with everyone's posts after a bit of a break. My thoughts and support are with everyone currently facing challenging and uncertain times.

After a fun-filled 2 day appointment marathon, I can confidently say that I never want scans to occur on treatment day/week again. Tuesday was blood work and bone scan (2 jabs) and Wednesday was monthly IV/appointment and CT scan (3 jabs + 2 failed IV attempts - the nurse was so apologetic, she's such a sweetheart). I feel like a pin cushion and have a couple beautiful bruises thanks to the blood thinner I also have to be on (thank you blood clot). On a more positive note, my blood work is looking really good. Now the wait to see what the scans show.

You know, I used to be one of those people who always answered “no" on the medical questionnaires. “Have you ever had this or been told that ... no". I had to check “yes" so many times on the bone scan questionnaire that it felt a bit defeating. My normal healthy life is gone. What a depressing thought.

ilowen, I hope you get some "days off" from medical stuff now. Sounds like a crazy week!

I spent the morning in bed giggling to the Heaving Bosoms podcast and then dd convinced me out for a walk. Just over 3k so not bad for serious chemo fatigue.

Went straight back to bed for a bit :p

Moth, a 3k walk is amazing for being under serious chemo fatigue!

Other than getting my first Covid shot on the 14th, no more medical stuff until May ... phew!

No medical stuff for a bit. Got some strength training pulling out my big spin dryer for some wash I had to do this morning. Weighs at least 30 lbs but does an excellent job spinning stuff almost dry. Also did my first walk of the day, just over 3000 steps. Aiming for between 9000 and 10000 most days, even if raining. I also wore a mask as well because now that it is warm and a bit humid, stupid little black bugs that fly around my head are back, less annoying in a mask. The mask also slowed my breathing so I actually felt I got better breath with the slow breathing. Good practice for summer when it will be hot and humid harder to breathe.

Not going to any stores today, don't need anything grocery wise. I also don't want to stand in line to get in which is bound to happen with reduced store capacity during this stay at home lockdown.

I wish I could believe things will improve COVID wise during this 3rd wave but I really don't think it will even with the lockdown.

Just a quick pop in, DH is at a friends house smoking a brisket and hanging out. I’m welcome too but honestly, I’ve hardly had a day to myself in over a year, and while DH is great, I just love time alone, always have. So, I’m picking up lunch from a local place, crab cakes and a slice of key lime pie, then I’ll find a movie and really enjoy the moment.

I hope everyone is having a good or at least not too bad weekend.

I had three very nice walks and then older DB texted and asked if I needed groceries which I decided to get some. We stopped for donuts from McD's, I thought they were gross honestly and I bought the coffee for them and then we did the grocery shopping. Got to take 20.00 off which was nice and using giift cards to pay which was good. Lots of meatless options, ground and actual burgers, my wee freezer is very full. Wish I had room for another freezer, was like playing tetris to try and fit what little bit I was adding to the freezer. Used containers to make it easier to get more in. I honestly have to say I have not missed beef and it has been almost a couple of weeks. Also bought myself a soft tacobake from old El Paso, I loved it with ground beef, the beefless will be that much better and lower in calories over all.

I know I said I was not going to stores but I did not want to say no when older brother texted so tried to keep the purchases small.

Talk with MO went well. She is going to reduce my dose, so I’m happy about that. I definitely have bc in my liver and lungs, but she didn’t seem to be very alarmed, so onward we go.

Since I cancelled my trip North, I have decided to wait to see how the reduced dose feels and then reschedule. I have to see my family. They are everything to me

I was supposed to see an orthopedic oncologist on Friday about the cancer in my leg, and after a hour past my appt. time, I asked the front desk if I would be seen anytime soon. She said there were 3 people in front of me, so I told her I’d reschedule. I just don’t get it. We have to bust ass to make sure we are on time, but our appts. are lucky to happen in hours, not minutes. I’m pretty sure I won’t be seeing that doctor. Just makes me so frustrated!

Booboo- Now in liver and lung AND lowered dose of meds??

Usual day here. Nothing going on. Just reading about you all.

Laurie, waiting was how I spent my time too on Wed. I was brought into the chemosuite, port accessed and just had to wait for my drugs. For an extra almost 3 hours. They at least closed up the iv so I could walk around the hospital and they would call me when the drugs were ready. They said I could go home but would not have had time to get home, sit or eat something and walk back. I am sorry you did not get to see doctor.

Going to have to get more stuff to bring to eat next time as I see the doctor and that will take at least a few hours at minimum. Going to bring the granola bars but perhaps some cheese and other items to eat as well. Need more protein, not just carbs and sugar there.

Booboo, you seem very composed. Are you?

So far this wknd , between bouts of anxiety over icky invasive procedures on my lady parts (upcoming) and doing battle with rats in the hen house, I managed to set our dog on fire.

I had lit a pile of forest debris on fire when old dog wandered over and started gnawing a bone very near the fire. A gust of wind amplified the flame and carried it suddenly toward the dog. He is a very hairy doodle whose coat is jammed with enough forest fibre to start a small fire and that's exactly what happened. He had no clue he was singeing and I had to snuff him out with my leather work gloves. Hub comes along, wrinkles his nose and asks why I'm burning plastic bags. I'm not. It's the dog. This, sadly, is not the first time old fuzzy pants has gotten too close to a fire. He's cute but he's not smart. Aside from stinking to high heaven he was utterly unharmed.

Mae - I envy your girl night in. Shops and outdoor pubs/restaurants are opening up from tomorrow and OH has a meet up with a few work friends in a park on Thursday. I CANNOT WAIT. Maybe he can take the cats with him. Just want some space but also for his sake I am sure he wants to see other people as well.

    Runor,

Most days yes, I am calm and accept the cards that I’ve been dealt. I also have a strong faith that guides me through every day of this disease. Without that, I would be a serious basket case.

Now, about your dog....I am sorry, but I laughed out loud when I read your post. You are seriously crazy, and that’s probably why we love you so much!

Candy, the scope and D&C are to be done this week, but I have not yet had the phone call telling me when. I would feel best if Hub drives me (I am not allowed to drive myself, not that I could, I am frazzled!) but then he just has to sit in the truck in a parking lot for god knows how many hours until I'm done. This is so stupid.

runor: when I saw the dog was okay I laughed. Cute but not so smart?

I had an event with my cat many years ago. I bought some Indian Candy (smoked salmon that is little sticky) I decided to give the cats a treat and give them each a little bit of the skin. Linsey and Ben eagerly chewed theirs. Then I saw Leila, mouth open, pawing frantically at her face and making choking sounds. I grabbed her and pried her mouth open trying to see if I could find what was happening. I figured it was the skin. I even tried to make her gag. I did useless things like thumping her between the shoulder blades. She was getting panicked and flailing. I was panicked. I was barefoot and I was about to go out the door and run up the three city blocks to the local vet, barefoot and holding either a flailing or limp cat. In a last ditch desperate move I did what was the equivalent of the Heimlich maneuver on her. Huck. Plop. Out popped the skin. It was about the size of a large postage stamp and had not a single tooth mark on it. The little grunt cake just gulped it whole and it got stuck. She went on to live nearly 22 years. She was a truly brilliant cat for most things -- just not when it came to food. She almost ate a button once thinking it was a cat treat. I still miss her all these years later. She and I had a special bond, even before I "saved" her life.

candy: I hope you have lots of pockets. You will be busy with pocket duty.

For those that offer tea, coco, cookies for pocket duty ----- just a black medium roast coffee that I am not allowed to have.

Hoping the best results for all of us next week.
