Lita- Glad your online meeting with the Pall Dr went well! The dizziness must be hard to deal with...hope there are some meds to help...not the cbd??

I loved the cyborg photo😁. You do need something a bit tougher than the heart, but I didn’t notice it until you said something. It a great look on you and the eye makeup looked like a night out was in your future.

    You are awesome!

back to the Emla cream. I have found that if you are not numb, you are not putting it on early enough....despite what the sheet may say. More than an hour works best. I got out of the shower at 1130 am for 1:15 treatment. So maybe got needle at 1:45. I Never feel the needle. Don’t really know it is in until nurse says great blood flow. The generic will work as well. You just have make sure the nurses wipe and clean site well so as not to track any into the port. It stays numb the entire time I’m there, so it doesn’t sting when I go potty and move around.

The tegaderm from Amazon works better for me than the stick n seal. Though I love press n seal. There is a box of 50 for 22 dollars. I buy the larger size 4x4 inches which I cut in half to use to cover my Fentanyl patch.

The 2 3/4 in by 2 3/8 is 100; is 20.99 which is probably large enough so I’ll probabky get those next time.

And I have Smile set up so a few pennies of each of my purchases are donated to Metavivor.

Lita, I missed why you distance meet with the palliative care instead of a face to face.

Mother's Day tea party with DD in the backyard.

I almost had a disaster with my blueberry scones...DO NOT USE CANNED BERRIES! They will make the scones too wet. The dough was too sticky and looked like Hawaiian poi! Nevertheless, I managed to salvage them, and they turned out fine...and plenty for breakfast with lemon curd for tomorrow.

    Happy Mother's Day, ladies,

    I am POOPED!

Too much activity...packing for Monterey/Carmel, getting the house SEMI-cleaned up, and finally traveling to the Monterey Peninsula. Did a LOT of walking - slightly uphill and downhill to get to the restaurant. I'm pretty sure I'll be sore tomorrow, so I brought plenty of Voltaren Gel, Cannabis Rub, and Tylenol (can't take anything stronger, or I might start bleeding according to MO, my platelets are still pretty low).

Tomorrow, DD and I are just going to lay low while DH golfs. DD will be editing her photos and I will start a project that my brother wants me to do b4 I transition. He wants me to chronicle the important points of my life so that he and my three other brothers will have something. I don't want it to turn into some tedious, monumental task, so I will do an outline first.

I was surprised that my EARLIEST memory was actually when I had just turned three (I thought I had just turned four). Amazing how far back some of us can go. I distinctly remember Sunday, January 21, 1962. I was 3 yrs and 1 1/2 months old. It snowed that day...a rarity on the Peninsula. It has only snowed one other time in my life: Feb. 1976, when I was still in high school. Anyway, I remember getting pelted in the head by a snowball, crying, and running back into the house and my mom making me Nestle's Quik.

Since I had WBR, my memories are so vivid now. Hope it stays that way, even tho the mets have grown, according to my last MRI.

Everyone have a great weekend. I'll try to send pics if I can :>).

    Lita,

I’m glad you are writing down memories for your family. My grandmother gave us all her First Twenty Years booklet when she was about 90. It was filled with tidbit memories that we loved. She stopped at the point where she married. We wish she had also covered raising kids in the Depression, but loved what she did. I followed her example and wrote about my childhood right after I retired. It’s amazing what you remember once you start writing.

My earliest memory was from when I was about 2 and my dad came in from mowing the yard and said he has run over a copperhead snake. It was after a big flood in KC that sent snakes slithering up hills to survive. It certainly made an impression.

Keep writing! Your kids will thank you.

Lita...you define living. By the way, did you drink hot cocoa from those wine glasses that I see in your photo? Ha.

No wine for me, sadly. Those were my dd's and dh's glasses. He brought a Turley Sauvignon Blanc to uncork with dinner. Corkage fee was a ridiculous 35.00, but still cheaper than a retail bottle of Turley.

Wine still tastes metallic to me, and i have to safeguard my liver while on chemo. Back to the infusion clinic in 2 days.

Yes, I safe guard my liver, too. That is why it is torture as I work at a local winery and pour tastings for folks!
