They have made some progress in other areas which will be threatened. So even they can't back this lunatic. They are saying something not enough people are hearing yet. Hope it really comes.

Thank you, Jamie Lee Curtis. I hope we can for your daughter and everyone like her as well as ourselves.

He has started the biggest clown show we have ever seen. When all who voted for this major disruption to their lives (and ours) see the results, I hope they will finally GET IT.

I may be back later. A part of me remains hopeful, although feeling very in-secure. It is hard to say what the coming months will bring for sure. As has often been said about un-chartered territory, and boy oh boy, are we there now. Also thinking about that Dictator on day one. Seems that is starting now for sure.
The illegalities are already being numbered as we speak. So some things or people proposed may hit large snags. Some have said that FG will do a couple of major deportations or whatever and then let it go as he reeks some vengeance. I think many others around him will be bringing forth what comes and he will indeed be a lot more focused on getting even with perceived enemies. He has never KNOWN nor CARED about what he was doing for the presidency — his focus was grifting, tearing things up, side-stepping any accountability, and now he has major vengeance to dish out as well. That will take up a lot of his time — on those times he actually remembers what he is doing in his demented and dementia ridden mind.

We all know why President Biden will meet with Donald Trump at the White House. It is a tradition that the current president welcomes the president-elect before the official transition at the White House.
So what’s on the agenda? As far as Biden is concerned, the meeting itself is the agenda — upholding a key governing norm and showing magnanimity, even if Trump skipped the whole ritual entirely last time around amid his denial of the 2020 election results.
“At the end of the day, it doesn’t matter that they said that Trump was dangerous and all these things,” a Biden administration official told Playbook. “It’s about continuity of the government, moving America forward. And if this is who they chose, then this is who he needs to sit next to, period.”
“On the other hand,” the person added, “I’m a human being and I’m like, what the fuck?”
Over his more than half-century career, Joe Biden has loved norms, which is good, except for the fact that Donald Trump already shattered the norm after he lost the 2020 election and did not invite then-president-elect Joe Biden to the White House.
So, what exactly is going on here? Is it good for democracy for Biden to uphold a norm that implies everything is fine when a man who promised to be a dictator on the first day he got into office is the one who won the presidential election?
These are all valid questions.
The corporate media has done nothing but normalize Donald Trump’s abnormal behavior since he first arrived on the national political scene almost a decade ago, but should Biden be doing the same thing?
A good question for sure.
I don't see much use in it. It looks good and Pres. Biden may feel like he is fostering continuity as such, but the first 4 yrs. FG was allowed to live in OUR WH were not normal, and these next four yrs. are going to be far, far less — so continuity in this case as I see it doesn't mean a hell of a lot at all. Pres. Biden is a good man who wants to preserve the trappings of sane democracy and most times I'd applaud that, but it seems to be saying in a way that all of this is all right and almost NONE of it will be.

Another great truth. We here on the left don't care to hear it from you.

DEARBORN, MICH RESIDENTS show remorse after Trump win: " He's playing us".
In the wake of Donald Trump's victory in the 2024 election, residents of Dearborn, Michigan, are voicing their regret and frustration, with many expressing feelings of being misled.
Dearborn is home to one of the largest concentrations of Arab Americans in the nation, with nearly half of its 110,000 residents being of Arab descent. The city has traditionally been a Democratic stronghold, but this year that all changed.

"When I think of Democrats, I don't think of people like Joe Biden and Kamala Harris," Layla Elabed, a leader in Dearborn's anti-war movement and the sister of Michigan Rep. Rashida Tlaib, told Slate. "You can't claim to represent the values of your base and then ignore them. You're not going to win—and that's exactly what happened."
"We were asking Democratic leadership to empower us," Abbas Alawieh, a Lebanese American from Dearborn, and one-time chief of staff to Rep. Cori Bush, said. "They flat-out said, 'No thanks. We're good without you.' I'd hoped that, whatever calculus they were making, there were some 101,000 Liz Cheney voters out there somewhere they were catering to. It turns out those voters don't exist," he added, referencing the daughter of former Republican Vice President Dick Cheney, who was the mastermind behind the war in Iraq. Liz Cheney endorsed Harris in this election.
But while Arab Americans are feeling anger at the Democrats, they are also not necessarily convinced by Trump.
"They didn't vote for Trump because they believe Trump is the best candidate," Osama Siblani, publisher of The Arab American News, told Politico. "No, they voted for Trump because they want to punish the Democrats and Harris."
"It's clear as day that he's playing us," Alawieh added of Trump. "I think he's going to target us. That's what he's going to do. He's going to target our families, and it's going to hurt. So, I think we're about to find out."
I too, think they might be about to find out. And while I knew that there would be some ' punish' votes it truly brings it home to see it spelled out so clearly. It does make me wonder why so many seem to have if not similar feeling, obviously close enough.
It just seems that it takes a real ignorance to vote for one side to punish the other and even more so when THAT side flats out tells you that they are pretty much out to get you, care nothing about your needs, may deport you, nullify your health Ins. and likely cause you even higher prices.
I've already (I put in an article here already) heard so much about people and regrets they may have or if not likely will soon. Just the Trump cabinet assignments and ambassador and other picks is mind numbing. Not sure all that will work and I do think putting Musk in chg. of anything but the latrine detail is one of the riskiest thing you could do, and maybe even that too. I do think this is certainly a circus come to town.
Noted that Thune was elected as House majority while McConnell finds a quiet place for himself until retirement. As far as I'm concerned, I don't like anyone, but I sure didn't want Scott there. He also is one of those who gives me the 'willies' w/o my being able to put my finger on why. Some people just seem to "seep" evil which I feel and then get creeped out. Scott has been around for a while and I never cared for him ever, but he is a reminder to me of how many "off" people turn up around FG who is so far off himself. All the Majority contenders, Cornyn was the third one, let Trump know they were good 'slave' material. I do think before the first two yrs. we might see a little sowing from the 2024 reaping.

Just saw something else. When I try to copy the meme, it says it's not available yet. That doesn't happen too often, so I decided to just explain the darn thing. On the off chance that they don't make it available. It is also listed to the side, but that definitely won't paste from there. Wording says:
Matt Gaetz
I say we change Florida's welcome sign to this.
Below Bebe Rexha says:
There's no age you can't be sexy.
Over the top of the whole meme, it says " ladies and gentleman your new AG " — speechless
Somedays it is almost hard to believe what the other side deems fit.
And just so you know if you haven't heard yet:
Trump has selected underage sex trafficker Matt Gaetz as Attorney General

Once again that side comes up with what? I am gob smacked and completely speechless.
Can that pastor dude be real? Does he actually 'pastor' a church?? Wow !! That 'flock' must really be something else.

They are a heck of a lot better than Trumpers. Lived through much hardship but if you need then they will help you no questions asked a and share their meager meal with you.
2 -
Have a big sip of that Koolaid all those who voted for him and those that think this is the second coming.

Gaetz as AG? Butthead from Beavis and Butthead? I am LMAO. What a moron.

Well, thank the heavens, we didn't lose out on everything.

This quote is taken from a speech Nikita Khrushchev made before the U.N. in the early years of the Cold War. "America will fall without a shot being fired. It will fall from within." Kruschev's words were prophetic. Putin manipulates Trump so easily, that America will soon become a Russian Satellite. America will indeed become Америка.
Here comes Orwell and 1984.

This is what we have been given — the only consolation is that side gets it too — and obviously suitable for no one.

Why are groceries so much more expensive? Because the people making and selling the groceries raised prices. What is the orange clown gonna do about it? He's probably gonna give them tax breaks.
No doubt.

He has messages his rt. wing media keep pumping out while we don't get that same kind of airtime. So our message doesn't invade your daily life constantly. Having the media in your pocket for their ratings: priceless.

Hmm, I seem to recall reading a while back that the House was going to put the dump on Matt Gaetz right around now, but he has been saved with the added bene that his legal troubles may be gone with the wind. How fortuitous life can be, eh !!

It would be oh so wonderfully ducky but sadly no one has the spine or the other very necessary parts.

Matt will fit right in with his sexual predator boss. I hope women in the military who voted for Trumpp will be happy to go back to being secretaries, an anybody who voted for Trump 'to punish the Democrats' is so stupid that they deserve what they will get. The inmates are running the asylum!

President-elect Donald Trump has tapped Tulsi Gabbard to serve as his director of national intelligence, a shock move that would place an intelligence novice whose antiwar views are seen as sympathetic to Moscow in charge of the country’s $70 billion spy apparatus.
The selection of Gabbard, a longtime Democratic member of Congress who later quit the party and endorsed Trump, is sure to provoke opposition in the Senate. She not only lacks experience in intelligence matters, but has opposed U.S. interventions in Ukraine and Syria — while frequently suggesting the U.S. provoked Russia into aggressive policies.
“Tulsi will bring the fearless spirit that has defined her illustrious career to our Intelligence Community, championing our Constitutional Rights, and securing Peace through Strength,” Trump said in a statement Wednesday.
Lord, have mercy.

Ruth: Although it is just after 10 p.m. — oh did you make my day with that one.
Things like that really do tend to make me smile if not giggle a bit and I sorely need those times that light me up a little. I know despite the loathing I will get to the point of being able to laugh again and find my usual enjoyments have returned to their former delights for me, but it is making something of a slow start — so thank you.
