None of the Reps. really care. They will grab anything that even sounds like it can be used to hit the Democrats over the head with and don't care if it is full of mental flaws because they "jumped" too soon.

Are we happy now that we have a rump stooge to tell us HOW it really he. He too, has far too many screws clinking around in his otherwise worm eaten brain.

There's been a lot of online chatter about getting a measles titer as an adult to double-check your level of immunity. If you were born in 1968 or earlier, it might be worth considering getting a booster; especially if you're in a higher-risk area of anti-vaxers.

    "Do adults need booster shots?

If you were vaccinated with the first version of the measles vaccine - a killed-virus vaccine used between 1963 and 1968 - or don’t know which type of vaccine you received, the CDC recommends getting at least one dose of MMR.

Experts say that those who received two doses of the current MMR vaccine will probably have measles immunity for their entire life.

“Less than 1% of people who are fully vaccinated will have waning immunity to measles to the point where they are susceptible to infection,” Johns said. “As we age, all types of immunity have the potential to wane, but fully vaccinated folks are generally considered protected from infection for their lifetime.”

During mumps outbreaks, it is possible that local authorities may recommend additional MMR doses for those who are at risk of heavy exposure, according to the CDC.

For measles, Schaffner says some people may find that they have low titers of antibodies after testing and, “in conjunction with their physicians, decide to get another dose of the vaccine booster. And I’d say there’s no harm to that as far as we know, but the benefit is uncertain.” "

Junior is so wrong. Measles is not due to malnutrition and do the repugicans take responsibility for the food desert and poverty in the areas? He not only is a witless wonder but he is really the ugliest Kennedy I have ever seen. His face has trenches not wrinkles and he looks far older than his stated age. I usually do not attack someone's appearance but will make an exception here because his demeanor and appearance match.

Miriandra, what a great article. I'm going to have to ask my NP at the VA Clinic in Mt. Vernon to check on this for me. She usually keeps pace with medications (she usually does it for me) that need re-ordering and taking good care to answer all my queries about things. She as well consults Dr. Neely (PCP) to make sure they are both on the same page

I was vaccinated before I started 1st grade at school, and I do recall when I enlisted in 1964 that we at one point were lined up and had people on both sides of a long line of ladies jabbing as hard and fast as was possible. I really don't recall what they were all about but I presume they were either fresh injections of communicable diseases or boosters for them. I just recall a lot of them given all at the same time — in both arms. Afterwards outside on the lawn all these women twirling their arms round and round to hopefully ward off a lot of the stiffness and achy soreness that could result.

I have no problem with getting anything the VA thinks is right for me.

Met Canadians on our cruise who were very upset with the turd and know that most Americans do not support his lunacy. Guy who wore trump shirts daily was not on the list of those they wanted to associate with. He was like a walking billboard for them to direct their hate at.

I had measles so bad when I was a little girl that the doctor said I would have died 50 years earlier. I remember sleeping in my parents bedroom with all the curtains drawn so I wouldn't go blind. Measles are not a joke! I am pretty confident that I'm immune for life, but my younger siblings, who had the vaccine, should probably revisit their immunity.

There are 2 forms of measles: rubeola and rubella (German measles). Both can result in death but exposing a pregnant woman to rubella means her fetus can be born with blindness, deafness and microcephaly (small head) with resultant brain damage. These latter are irritable children that respond poorly to touch ao providing care was painful to child and caretakers. Not being able to comfort them was heartbreaking. Neither is pretty to see in the unimmunized or those where immunization was incomplete. I worked pediatric communicable diseases as a new graduate and saw all the childhood diseases that were preventable in small children or in those who developed side effects due to different variants. Problem is many practitioners today have never seen the disease so dx is tricky.

Also they are not saying if it is rubeola or rubella and that is another concern. Both are spread easily by cough or sneezes since they are highly contagious. Incubation time is 7-21 (7-14 days most common) days so hard to nail down when and where transmission occurred. Rash will occur in 3- days and it is infectious from days prior to days after rash onset. It can be mistaken for roseola so can be misdiagnosed easily.

Rubella incubation time is 17 days but may take 14-21 days to express itself. Contagious from 7 days before to 7 days after rash appears.

Long incubation leads to easier transmission to others. Immunosuppressed are at risk as well and let's face it children are little germ factories to begin with and touch everything within reach. Sad this is occurring when it was gone in 2000.

This came from Occupy Democrats which is fairly trustworthy I think:

BREAKING: Fox News henchman Peter Doocy brutally confronts Donald Trump to his face for destroying the economy with his disastrous tariffs — while Elon Musk lurks in shame nearby.

What was supposed to be a Tesla sales pitch quickly devolved into a humiliating mess...

"President Trump, you're buying a new car while there are some folks who will see this clip at home and they are struggling with their retirement accounts down at the moment, uncertainty about work ahead..." said Doocy.

"Well, I think they're gonna do great. I think we're, uh, our country had to do this. We had to go and do this," said Trump. "They've taken away... Other countries have taken away our business. They've taken away our jobs."

"Uh, I did it, uh, initially very strongly against — as you know China and some others in the first term — and it was a very successful term," continued Trump. "We had no inflation."

"We had the greatest economy in the history of our country and then we had COVID which we had to straighten out," said Trump, conveniently eliding the fact that he botched the pandemic response.

The confrontation came during a PR event at the White House during which Trump touted his decision to buy a Tesla, a pathetic and transparent effort to boost the plummeting stock of his oligarch puppetmaster's flagship company.

Elon Musk himself was present for the proceedings, wearing the trademark sunglasses that many have speculated are meant to hide his alleged ketamine abuse.

At another point during the tacky car salesman routine, Trump was confronted by a different reporter—

"Mr. President you mentioned the ups and downs in the stock market. You said it'll go up, it'll go down but do you and your tariff policies right now bear any responsibility for the turmoil we're seeing this week?" asked a reporter.

"No, I think that uh... Biden gave us a horrible economy," lied Trump. "He gave us horrible inflation and I think the, uh, market was gonna go very, very bad."

The truth, of course, is that we are hurtling towards a recession because Trump decided to hit Canada and Mexico with punishing tariffs for no discernible reason beyond exciting his xenophobic base.

"Uh, if anything I have a lot of very smart people, friends of mine, and great businessman, they're now investing because of what I'm doing," Trump claimed. "Because long term what I'm doing is making our country strong again."

"Financially strong. Militarily strong," he continued. "And strong — and we want to get away — remember this, we have wars — when I left we had no wars. We didn't have Ukraine and Russia. We didn't have October 7th. We didn't have that disaster that took place with the withdrawal from Afghanistan and you look at what's happened there."

Outside of the lie-riddled and inane remarks Trump spewed, the event itself was an utter disgrace. Using the White House to sell cars for a billionaire crony is a new low for the American presidency.

This is the most corrupt administration in history.

As you take a few minutes each day to quiet your mind, you will discover a nice benefit: your everyday, "ordinary" life will begin to seem far more extraordinary.  Little things that previously went unnoticed will begin to please you.  You'll be more easily satisfied, and happier all around.  Rather than focusing on what's wrong with your life, you'll find yourself thinking about and more fully enjoying what's right with your life.  The world won't change, but your perception of it will.  You'll start to notice the little acts of kindness and caring from other people rather than the negativity and anger.

The not at all great one, or at least that's definitely what he thinks stands to cause more stock market losses today but won't know till it opens for sure. So far, he is not doing any real correction which is good enough for us. He is tanking himself with his own party to the tune of even Fox News weighing in and more or less calling him a disaster in the making. It's not great when your own propaganda channel can't stand up for you any longer. He puts out tariffs while puffing out his chest and then has to take some of them back later on.

Most definitely not positive stock market behavior. And he seems dis-inclined so far. Bullies don't back up well because they felt so good about their 'results' after having heavily stomped on someone or something. They have a huge amt. of people standing back in fear and dismay. Well, mid-terms are coming and many (although it is not the real Maga portion) Reps. who wish re-election are starting a melt-down over the Trump tariff's mess. As well, even many who aren't concerned with re-election see too that the Trump trajectory is heading for very likely solid Democratic wins as things are going — not only tariffs but the Musk destructions too.

    Going to be interesting.

Not sure what is going on. Apparently, the stock market didn't go completely and was up a bit, but relations are not going will with Canada at his point and sounds like the tariff wars are still playing a bit of havoc. So, I can't say I feel at all confident about what Trump and Musk are up too. At the same time they are I think losing ground again pretty much in the courts although that often leads to 'stalls' of some kind or other — so at this point who really knows. I'm not discouraged — I do think the trump and musk team are going to keep the turmoil and upset going — and so hopefully a whole lot of Reps. will begin to voice the words enough is enough — and certainly that can only help our side.

In reality — it does seem that any time one side gets a bit too extravagant about what they do we have a process of taking power away and giving it to the opposites. Too bad that didn't happen when it should have so Kamala Harris could have been our President. Things were on the cusp of turning around really well, but at the same time — look how fast Trump has turned that into a total disaster. I know they are looking for way to blame it on Biden or whatever isn't MAGA — but with Trump and Co. having total control for these next two years, that will be a hard sell — unless you've lost all reason like the hardest of the cult seems to have. If there is any help in that direction some of them will have just enough sense to realize they got sold down the river too.
