I belong to a FB group: Protest Senate Trying to Replace RBG Before Inauguration! And these are pics they posted from the DC March. I love these signs!!!

Who is directing Trump to do these things is just as out of touch as Trump. These people wouldn't know what true character was if you force fed it to them for breakfast every morning. Some things you just can't get.

Love that witness protection in Russia!! LOL!!!

Thank you all for the great support. I'm so glad I found this thread. My sanity depends on it every day.
At this point, Serenitystat, we Californians would much rather be part of Canada, than to be part of a country that elected Trump. I'm pretty sure Washington and Oregon feel the same. Cascadia, anyone?
I love the signs from the protest. Especially the one about the crown. If seated, Amy Coney Barrett will always be known as an illegitimate member of the Supreme Court.

Trish: I have always thought of everyone after Scalia as illegitimate. Merrick Garland should have had the Gorsuch seat. I admit I'm still sour grapes about that one.

Trish: Sorry this has been such a bad year for you. My MIL died the day before her 97th birthday and my DH was unable to go to the viewing because his damn sister came from FL and refused to quarantine. He did not feel comfortable being with her or her DD who came from CT (also a hot spot). We will have a memorial service in the future without them. My DH has done everything for her for the past 5 years since she went into an ALF and had visited with her while she was in a rehab unit after a fall in which she fractured her spine. It's a tough year on families and their loved ones.
I regard others on her as an extension of family since they offer solace and kind words when things just aren't going well, so rant away. We have your back. Hugs.
Vertigo can cause loss of balance and dizziness, so follow-up on it.
The memes have either made me smile or laugh outloud. Thanks to all who posted them.

Trish, never apologize for describing what you're going through. It's nice we have this thread as a release valve.
Couple years ago I had vertigo and feared the worst. Then I found some info that it can be caused by an imbalance of crystals in the inner ear and something called the Eply maneuver can correct it. It's easily done at home and to my surprise, it worked. Here's one link, you can google the maneuver and learn more and watch a video of it.

trishyla,
I’m in San Jose and the weather hasn’t been quite so hot as down south , but definitely the warmest October I remember in the over 30 years I’ved lived here.
As for sinuses, on my PET in July a nasal polyp was noted in my right maxillary sinus. I also had a massive sinus infection. I spent a week on Prednisone and three weeks on Augmentin. Then I had a head CT and unfortunately the polyp remains unchanged. The pain/pressure it caused is still there but improved. I have a video consult with a head and neck surgeon tomorrow. Hope yours clears up soon!

Again, I am so grateful for this community. I'm in tears over all the love and support. Thank you.

This is short and worth watching, I think.

Trishyla, my DH had dizziness which was cured by the Eply Maneuver. It's an easy cure. I hope your dizziness is caused by something that simple and easily done. It's evidently pretty common.

Trishyla...try not to worry too much about the dizziness. I have been getting it on and off for years. When it first happened I had a CT scan and nothing showed up. Sometimes even meds can cause it and a bunch of other things that aren't cause for alarm. (((hugs)))

Jackie, "everybody after Scalia" is "illegitimate?" Are you forgetting Sotomayor & Kagan???
Trish, 2020 sucks, but seems to be sucking harder for you. You might be developing a touch of Meniere' Syndrome--in which case limiting sodium, caffeine, sugar & alcohol can help. More likely, though, that the excess particulate matter in the SoCA air is either clogging your sinuses or causing you to secrete more mucus & fluid--which can engorge your ears' semicircular canals and interfere with their ability to maintain balance.
Conservative GOP MI ex-Gov. Rick Snyder came out today and endorsed Biden. And are you sure that by replacing Pence "with a Kennedy," they're not talking about LA's GOP Sen. John "Foghorn Leghorn" Kennedy? Pretty hard to run a candidate whose existence can't be proven but whose death can be. (DNA in bones doesn't lie, assuming it comes down to having JFK Jr. exhumed, with survivors' permission).
If I have a Zoom New Year's Eve party, and someone says (as one invariably does year after year) "good riddance to 2020, 2021 has got to be better," so help me I will find a way to reach through my screen and throw my drink in their face. What part of "jinx" do they not understand? Fate always snorts and says "here, hold my beer." Hate to be Debbie Downer, but at least the first half of 2021 will be far worse than 2020 has been, until a safe & effective vax is available & distributed to 50% of the population. Only then, when the (estimated, from various antibody-test studies) 20% of Americans with COVID antibodies are added, can we achieve solid enough herd immunity to start easing up once the weather gets warmer and moister again come late spring. Bob says that if safety is proved but effectiveness is still iffy, he will nonetheless take the vaccine if offered. He'd be no worse off than if he hadn't. (Health care workers would be offered it first).
I'd rather be bored, cooped up, frustrated and depressed (as I was from late winter through early June 2020) than live with the abject terror that comes from deliberately or even carelessly exposing myself to infection. Having dodged that bullet once, I figure that God (or whoever or whatever force runs the universe) gave me a warning and a second chance, and I'm not about to waste it. If that means it'll be just Bob & me at Thanksgiving & Christmas dinners, so be it. "Pandemic fatigue?" The only "pandemic fatigue" that is legitimate is being tired of having the virus still out there and stalking us--not of the simple but irksome measures we can take to avoid it. Without safety, there can be no economy.
I forgot who it was here (BlueGirl?) who said that because her state's Dem. Senate nominee can't win, she's going to vote for a third (or fourth or fifth or non-) party candidate to "send a message?" It pains me to disagree with any BCO sister on this thread, but the only "message" doing that sends is one that will both go unheard and have no effect whatsoever other than expand Cornyn's lead. (Has NOBODY remembered the 2016 results of having "sent a message" or "made a statement" by voting for Stein or Johnson in a close-contest state that narrowly flipped to Trump)? TX is getting tighter & tighter, and Cornyn fears so much for his seat that today he began dissing Dear Leader (comparing having supported him to "being in a bad marriage"), in the hopes of stanching the hemorrhage of his supporters turning to his Dem. opponent. If enough TX Dems. stopped "making a statement" and instead voted for M.J. Hegar (in itself as powerful a "message" as can be sent), TX can be flipped--at least in the Senate.

Sandy, working on that flip!!

JFK Jr. was cremated and his ashes were committed to the sea......or were they? Maybe he's running a gas station in Nevada with Elvis Presley.

This one says EVERYTHING to me. If I agreed with a candidate 100% and they did this, I would not/could not vote for him/her.

Sandy, I had no idea that Sotomayor and Kagan were put on the court after 2016 which is the yr. Scalia passed away at that Texas ranch. I thought Merritt was picked by Obama ( though he didn't get any meetings or any hearings from the Reps ) to replace Scalia. Instead we were forced, as un-willing as can be, to wait until Trump who will if Barrett ( certainly seems she will ) gets appointed to the SC, will be # 3 for Trump. Please elaborate what I have wrong here.
0 -
Ah--I'd assumed that by "everyone after Scalia" you meant everyone appointed & confirmed after Scalia was appointed & confirmed. If you had simply added the word "died," I wouldn't have misunderstood. Merrick Garland was appointed by Obama, of course, but never was given even a committee hearing.

Janett, I just got done watching your entry for the third time. It gives me such hope that there are more Reps. out there going to go for Biden this time than I hoped for. I knew there would be some -- like anyone who is the Lincoln Project or supports either them or Vote Vets. People who never would have voted for Hillary can see someone like Biden ( lifelong Democrat ) so differently than they viewed Hillary. In hindsight between Trump and his help from Russia, then help from Comey -- our side only barely had a chance.
Sandy, thanks. Sorry I wasn't clearer on that. Sotomayor and Kagan were confirmed in 2009. They were Pres. Obama's picks as well.

Man Jailed in Plot to Kidnap, Kill Wichita Mayor over Masks
Posted: 18 Oct 2020 04:30 AM PDT
A Wichita man has been arrested for an alleged threat to kidnap and kill Wichita Mayor Brandon Whipple (D) over frustration with the city's mask mandate. Per the Wichita Eagle, the suspect had expressed opposition to "masks and tyranny," in a series of texts reviewed by the city's mayor. "He said he was going to kidnap me and slash my throat and he needed my address because I needed to see the hangman," Whipple said.0 -

2. Scoop: What Trump's debate coaches are telling him
President Trump's team is telling him ahead of Thursday's final debate: Stop interrupting Joe Biden. And try to be more likable.
- Watch for Trump to tell more jokes and to try, if he can stay on message, to strike a softer tone, Alayna reports. At the same time, aides expect Trump to keep going after Biden's son Hunter.
Be smart: Trump's team thinks that if he'd just yield the stage to Biden while the moderator is asking questions, Biden would wander rhetorically, "look doddering" and "step on himself."
- "Don't save him," is their advice to the president, a Trump adviser tells Alayna.
- In the September debate, Trump interrupted Biden 71 times, compared with Biden's 22 interruptions of Trump.
What we're hearing: Trump's team went back to his third debate against Hillary Clinton in 2016 for inspiration. "All Trump has to do is give people permission to vote for him," one source close to the campaign tells Axios.
- "He did exactly the opposite of that in the first debate. So hopefully he can right the ship in this one, because his re-election may depend on it."
The big question: Will debate prep matter? "It was clear Trump didn't study his debate document for round one," one campaign source said.
