Hi Veeder--- I agree. He's a mess. He's taken the presidency, the prize which I thought MIGHT make him at least a bit more mature and in the end even a fairly decent human being and turned it into excrement. He's so filled with rage, fear, and jealousy he deems this kind of thing admirable, or humorous, still thinking like a bully. I recall where either Obama or Michelle said the presidency doesn't make who you are, it reveals who you are (or along those lines). A really great example for Barron (mean that facetiously). Wonder how that kid is gonna think and feel when he's, say, fifty years old and his father's finally (and happily!) shut up in his grave, the memory of him like a bad joke that nobody wants to hear again? Nice legacy to leave your son!

Love all the memes and I too am disgusted by the Texas incident. I heard about it last night, but saw nothing on it until this morning. Veeder, I saw the same thing as you I think. In the end, things like that prove nothing -- they sure don't win votes, but tend to show levels of derangement. While dangerous, it is also a childish reaction -- just like Trump who is so mentally challenged that he is seen as childish in his response. I'm not surprised that Trump was amused since vindictdiness is such a WHOLE of his nature.
It will remain such a sad part of our history that the U.S. people were so duped by this orange horror. I think he will not last long, but I hope long enough with enough mentality left to approach getting up every morning with a certain amt. of dread because his kingship dissolved.

1 big thing: A safe, sane way to navigate election night — and beyond

We all need to be clear-eyed about the social and political volatility heading into Election Day:
- The chances of sporadic violence, significant unrest or voting issues are quite high, according to basically every federal and state official monitoring voting and its aftermath in 2020.
But all of us — Democrats, Republicans, independents alike — can do our part to minimize the drama and darker scenarios, Axios CEO Jim Vandehei writes:
1. Vote and then chill until late Tuesday night. There'll be dumb rumors, wild speculation and armchair projections, all of it meaningless.
- There's no chance you have even a clue who wins until Florida, Georgia and North Carolina are counted and reported.
- More likely, you will need to wait for clear-cut results in Pennsylvania, where it will take days to count all mail-in votes.
2. Don't expect a quick, clear winner: We can't stress enough the chance of it taking days to fully count mail-in and absentee votes, to determine the real outcome in places like Pennsylvania and Wisconsin.
- Be patient: COVID and the mail-in torrent make this election unlike any other.
3. Brace for the possibility of a "Red Mirage." We first told you about this term, coined by the Democratic data firm Hawkfish, on "Axios on HBO" before Labor Day:
- Because polling and modeling shows Republicans are more likely to vote in person and Democrats are more likely to vote by mail, early counts could look heavier for the GOP than the final result, when absentee votes are all counted.
- So the trends could look more Trump-friendly than the final outcome. This is not a partisan belief; it's a simple fact. (See the full "Red Mirage" segment.)
4. Don't share social-media posts that aren't from a source you trust and know well. Period. Too many people share too much garbage too often.
- Only pay attention to sources of information you trust and can validate with 100% certainty. Measure twice, tweet once (or, better yet, never).
5. Don't overreact. You might see images on cable or social media of protests, or what seem like massive voter intimidation or issues. This can often seem bigger or more widespread than it is.
- Top officials tell us they fear Russia or other actors plan to amplify even the smallest issues to sow chaos. So don't assume the worst.
6. Expect that President Trump may refuse to accept results, if he loses.
- Why? Because he has told us he will fight the voting rules and results all the way to the Supreme Court. Watch his actions more than his words.
- Here's a small sign of what may lie ahead: As reported by the N.Y. Times, the Trump campaign — citing the possibility that "multiple states will require recounts" — is raising money to continue ballot fights into mid-December:
7. Don't hyperventilate about court cases. There will probably be many. But wait until there are actual verdicts and appeals to appraise the significance.
8. Brace yourself for 78 days of drama and turmoil from Nov. 4 through the inauguration.
- No one working for Trump or Joe Biden thinks the post-election period will be remotely normal. Even if you get the result you want, anticipate months of wild maneuvering and protests.
- Here, too, keep it in perspective and don't make matters worse by sharing or overreacting to false or misleading reports.
What's next: The nation is headed into a firestorm. There's no way it's orderly or normal, or even necessarily over when it seems over.
- All we can do is be smart about what's to come, and wise in our responses.

Way too little and far too late. We all had to give this yo-yo a chance because Putin and the Reps. made sure he was allowed to take the helm. We have deep regrets knowing from before day one we would and I sincerely think the Reps. are going to wonder why in God's name they ever thought they could pull this off -- at least successfully.

For all the people who don't want to vote for Trump realizing who and what he is but think they can't possibly vote for Biden either. One of my cousins seems to be there -- and I finally told her to think about the fact that we have an Electoral College ( un-fortunately still ) and that is what you are voting for -- not the person. So think about that lest you in-avertedly end up voting for Trump. Starting to wonder if she is a Reps. and just doesn't want to say so.

Still sad the day Pres. Obama and First Lady Michelle had to walk away and leave all the wonderful things they did ( yes I know there were some things not great ) in the hands of an absolute disaster which came true.

Yes Cheeto is known for not ponying up what he owes. It is a signature of who he is.
I think from here on out ( not that I' aware that Trump has that long ) many of these companies will ask for pay up front. It would be wise.

Divine...thank you so much for posting the Springsteen video!

Jack5ie, glad you liked the ad. Biden's campaign seems to be making good, strategic, timely moves.
Illinois Lady, I love the basement meme! Clever.
Damn, tho! I forgot to wear my Superhero costume when I went to vote! Haha!
But seriously, thank you so much for posting that list of ways to “minimize the darker scenarios" of election day and beyond. I've done very little political posting on social media, but I will be sharing those on FB. And am glad to know them for myself

I also loved the Springsteen video Divine, but as usual forgot to say while trying to keep my ideas in mind. As I recall Springsteen played a role in all our of our past Democratic elections although in Hillary's case it came to naught. I note that Springsteen has been a consistent Democrat which makes it all the greater to me.

One thing I will say about yard signs. It does keep the opposition from knocking on your door to talk about their candidate. I wish I had had yard signs in 2016!!
The bus incident was really terrible. I do hope those people have consequences for their actions.
My friend was at Walmart early this AM, heard several people talking about stocking up as they are afraid of either another lock-down (did we have one, ever?) or that there will be so much violence from the election, that it won't be safe going out.
And best pumpkin ever:

Love all the memes posted, the bumper sticker was one I would put on my bumper and loved the above pumpkin.
The photo of Melanie (a few pages back) on top the piano is one I am sure every adolescent son, especially Barron, would want to share with his friends? The flotus is a tramp and totally classless though she wears all those designer clothes. She cannot hold a candle to Jackie Kennedy nor Michelle Obama. They were the epitome of classy FLOTUS's.
Meant to check to see if Slovenia is a country that has no extradition but figured someone on here would know. We know that Melania and her family could not wait to leave there so if it has no extradition, wonder if they would go back? Maybe Melania would stay here and just let Donald go by himself? I am sure her sister and parents will want to stay here. Did not see any McDonald's when we were there so maybe it will not be a consideration for a new country for asylum.

Oh, glennie, would that it were so!

I had to look it up. Slovenia does have an extradition treaty with US. Ukraine does not. Russia does not. So tRump could go to either of those countries. (There are others too,,,) ETA: I bet Melania would stay. After all, why punish Barron by forcing him to go to Slovenia? He would want to stay here.
I want tRump to go to prison. Did you notice on the pumpkin that his prison number was 1 21 2021? MWHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!

I’ve seen a few articles saying there will be shortage of some things as it gets colder up north. They also say all types of suppliers have ramped up production and storage so are better prepared.
