Pointed to Russia -- and we wouldn't even have to chip in for the ticket.

No way, are you wearing a mask? I've never seen her in a mask. Look at you. Laura, she's being very politically correct. Whoa! Whoa!" He's still demeaning masks! Make sure everyone sees this! Hard to believe. I think Mr. Acosta will be glad if he does not have to wonder about how he is going to be treated AFTER Trump gets dumped.

I love that Alan Alda is speaking out against Trump. For their 40th wedding anniversary this year, Marlo Thomas and Phil Donahue wrote a book, "What Makes A Marriage Last" featuring interviews with 40 celebrity couples who've been together a long time. One of the couples was Alan and Arlene Alda who’ve been married 62 years! They are just so down to earth. Alan is well loved and respected by many.

Trill - yup, I do live alone. That means someone else won't eat the last piece.

Totally off topic, but I rotate my candy. Sort of like "flavor of the month". Presently on the counter top I'm enjoying Sanders Dark Chocolate Sea Salt Caramels from Costco. They've been my "go to" for quite awhile. Also sitting out are individual Godiva Dark Chocolate Ganache Hearts. Oh, and the dark chocolate Orange Sticks I ordered from Sweets Candy in Utah as soon as it got cool enough to ship. Behind closed doors are the York Peppermints and Dove dark chocolate raspberry bites, along with Trader Joe's chocolate covered Sea Salt Butterscotch Caramels and some TJ's English Butter Fudge. That said - I was raised in CA so my favorite candy is See's. And Christmas is coming up!!! I'll have to order peanut brittle and Victoria Toffee, not to mention my personal favorite chocolate choices.

Oh - I forgot about the mini Hershey's I bought for Halloween - a huge bag with 4 different kinds. Most of those are packed in snack bags for kids that I know since I won't be opening the door this year.

Interesting to see that I have so many candy choices. I usually reach for salty before sweet - so also on the counter are cashew nuts, Spanish peanuts and roasted pistachios - along Dot's Pretzels and Stacey's Cheese Bites - jalapeno & cheddar baked crackers.

But to your question - honestly I usually only eat two pieces of candy a day. It's not a discipline for me. Just the weird way I eat. On top of that, I've lost 14 lbs since the early lockdowns in March.

Too funny. I'm down to 169 from 197. How, well, I broke my arm and kept having to fast for tests. Once and it did take awhile, I got all the way through and we figured out what to do -- I had lost several lbs. Then, since there was no one to cook for me and I had to do it for myself with my arm in sling --- fifty trips to the fridge to get things out I needed -- a few trips to the pantry ( only had one hand for carrying ) and later having to put all back plus left-overs. Everything I did was a major chore, but I swept and mopped ( steam mop -- not so hard ) and did as much as I could just because I'm not a good sitter unless on the computer.

In the meantime I had the tests ( some needing me to fast night before until the late afternoon when finally awake ) and then I had to go for cancer surgery late in July ( remove kidney and ureter ) and no eating for a bit before and rt. after. When I did start eating major gerd. ( or bad throat from the tube that was down it for 6 hrs. ). So I was again not able to eat much. I don't recommend it as a diet and I think it is staying off due to age and I'm needing to eat less ( I think lots of time I eat better ) and so because I've started being really busy again -- I'm losing a little now and then but it is slow. Candy -- I don't turn much of it down, but I'm a spurt eater. I'll gorge on it -- then maybe won't want any for a week. So, I don't seem now to have to pay the price of my binge. I also love ice cream, but during all the above I kept forgetting to get any at the store.

Not sure what I will lay in for election night since Dh will insist on watching -- and I have to admit that likely I will have some curiosity going ( not so much early ) for later in the evening when votes are piling up and some states MAY be called. I guess I'd be surprised how many could be, but I think it is not how many so much as the actual ones ( if it is clear enough ) that make up the electoral college numbers. I am a huge fan of Reese's Peanut Butter Cups. I may do a splurge on them. Haven't done that for a long, long time.

Good for that sucker and loser Glennie. He is my kind of guy. I can't think of much more that is distressing then these men to have proudly ( as this man seems ) helped their country and maybe even watched a son or daughter do the same and then have someone like Trump so defile the sacrifice. A man who knows nothing of sacrifice, in any way, of any kind.

    Divine--Hah-hah! Good one!

Jackie-- i envy you your weight loss---although I know it was not the way you wanted to do it.....but, hey--at least you don't have to cart around those pounds any longer, which is a good thing overall for you..... you had a tough summer and am hoping your fall and winter coast along nicely....

I think our NATION is about 250 lbs overweight with a large bulky sack of shite named Donald Trump! I really do wish he'd been in the hospital longer.....was sure thinking he would be and we'd get a break from his largeness of mouth, ego, etc.

Since last Tuesday, my angst has gone down, knowing we were finally only a week out from election day. Less time for things to go wrong, I guess. I've thought abut how I'll feel, regardless of which way the tide turns Nov 3. If there's havoc on election day, no telling how I'll feel. I think Trump will try to incite violence if things don't go his way.

But it doesn't seem like there's been a last-minute October surprise from or for either candidate. With so many votes already cast, not sure if one would sway any or many voters. Trump's campaign has gone differently this time. He's probably mad he didn't come up with a more scathing nickname for Biden rather than "sleepy Joe". It hasn't seemed to catch on the way all his other name calling of candidates did last election, like crooked Hillary.

At one point I felt a bit let down with Biden as the Democratic candidate, but he's got a lot of class and has handled himself well this campaign and I feel confident in him. The Trump campaign keeps trying to make Hunter Biden an issue, and around here, commercials air about Biden wanting to do away with fracking, an oil and gas drillling, which is big in this region. Commercials air about Biden's bad ties with China. But imo, none of this stuff is really landing because of the disruptiveness of the coronavirus. Trump did not see how it was going to play out when he decided to introduce the public to COVID19 as a hoax.

Trumpers continue to claim Covid is practically a non-issue, but if half the people you live around think it is, then it affects even those who claim its no big deal.

With the botched job Trump did with coronavirus, what other challenges would come up in the next 4 years that he could horrifically mishandle?

In real life I have qualms, a moral code, a sense of duty. I live within confines. In books, I am free to soar and to explore. There are no limits to my being.
Books, with their secret knowledge, free me from myself. I'm never alone. The greatest minds in history wait by my bed, sit patiently in bookcases, respond to my touch. I reach out and they are there, waiting to transport me to another realm. -Linda Weltner

Divine, Trill and others. I don't want to jinx anything, but it sure is starting to sound like Trump may lose and lose bigly. He himself seems to get that as well. He is in indicating he will not concede if he loses. Not sure if that means very much. I wondered if NOT conceding would buy him some time to figure out some place to go. This could be tricky, couldn't it ?? He loves dictators -- but who would want him if he can't do anything for them ?? So could he go there? Countries w/o extradition !!! Hmmm, there are plenty but again -- if Trump is not usable to them, none of the countries HAVE to accept him. Most of the counties me might go are gulf countries -- like Saudi Arabia.

Fox News has edged away from Trump and he was at a loss about it, but may figured out by now -- Fox is a BISINESS and has been much more successful at it than Trump ever was at his. Cook Report is still standing by how they see this election. Pretty much all for Biden and also the feeling is that it might well be known election night. I hope and pray that can come true, but mainly because our nerves are frayed and we are all worn so thin by the last four yrs. We are often even afraid to hope for better and that is truly sad. Hope and inspiration are words that just haven't spent enough time in our hearts and conversations this last four yrs., so getting the high sign for Biden on election night would be such an awesome gift.

I know, no matter what, there will be hard times ahead and I'll still have to have fear as a companion until we rid ourselves of Trump just past mid January, for what he in his horrid vindictdiness may do as punishment for his rejection by the U.S. electorate but to be able to feel the light of hope is just such wonderful medicine. I'm so ready to take the cure.
