Chevyboy, what’s crazy is I JUST this morning went on YouTube and watched a video with Ray Charles’ 1972 version of America the Beautiful and afterwards, the one thought I decided to put in the YouTube comment section was, “How about the drums at the end of the song? Perfection!” Because there was something so...perfect about them! Then I come on here and read your brother played drums for Ray Charles!

Thanks Divine! Yes, my "little" brother has quite a history in the music business....
I googled him, and found a lot of articles... And I just called him... Spookie.... He recorded with Ray Charles in "82 and "83... And also has a video on You Tube, "Hand Drummin"... He loved "America the Beautiful and "Seven Spanish Angels"....
He's kind of in a bad place right now... trying to get his wife out of a nursing home, and both of them into Independent Living, or Senior Living... Remember Maybelle Carter? She has a place near Nashville, where they are moving to the end of this month... So they "can be together"... So hard to see each other with this pandemic, and besides she goes to dialysis 3 times a week...
Geez... when you think things are bad, just look around, and things could always be worse... Yeah, I remember my bratty brother playing the drums in his room when he was 5! Mom & Dad got him a drum for Christmas... OMG that kid was loud!!! About 1943... We live in each other's hearts... He has been in Nashville ever since he got out of the Navy.... But we talk all the time.

So fun seeing everyone!
I spent an hour on the phone last night with my therapist.....started out discussing an unrelated thing--who cares about psychotherapy with Good vs. Evil going on?--and then got off into the REAL business of the day---the election! She's hoping for a Biden tidal wave so we can avoid the nuttiness. Though a blowout would be fantastic I think it's gonna draw out...at least as far as some states are concerned.....
I don't get cable so don't have that viewing option. I'm just gonna be surfing the regular network channels + PBS, depending on the topic and the ads...so my fingers won't stop the whole evening!
I'd love to make tacos tonight...am debating that.....but most definitely dessert will be Kit Kats!
Hope all goes well for us and for the US....will check in later to see how everyone is holding up....

Honestly...do you guys really think Biden stands a chance of winning? I am SO hoping but not hopeful. The last 4 years has really shown just how many incredibly ignorant, racist, stupid people there are, and they all seem to vote. It will never fail to astound me how in the world anyone can look at Trump and think "now there is a competent, rational, smart man who should be leading this county".

Can't remember who it was, but I will also be watching "Schitt's Creek" tonight...love that show. I haven't finished the series yet (I am always late to tv shows it seems) and am going slow watching it because I enjoy it so much and am not ready for it to be over.

cm2020: I was the one bingeing on Schitt's Creek. Join my party. Where are you? I'm on season 3, episode 6,,, I think. I'm watching it on demand and I always have to go back and see the "last viewed" to find my place again. I am late to the party, as I just heard about it. I don't have Netflix or any of the fancy channels, so if it's on Apple Plus or whatever, I can't watch it.

I'm loving all the great posts too. Also, yay for the pictures. I'm challenged so can't show off my picture. I did not lay hands on pearls, but I chose a sweatshirt that has a design with little beady things that look like pearls which I'm wearing as we speak. We just voted a short while ago and I felt so good. This yr. it was definitely a sort of Cloud Nine experience. Of course, on my ballot Biden/Harris was at the top. I have Kit Kats here as well and have munched on a few.
Ah, tonight. Well, I was going to pick up a pizza. One of our gas stations makes them and they are really good, but while I was at the store I picked up two oversized chicken pot pies just in case I change my mind on the pizza. So -- we will have something to eat and I'll be happy no matter what it is.
cm2020 -- I definitely think Biden will do this. So many Reps. are un-happy with Trump. Also, I truly believe the turn-out of early voters is that way mainly because I would guess FEW are Trump voters. These people are sick and tired of Trump. He was pushed down all our throats because Putin got into our election and too many people hated Hillary ( lots of them didn't like Trump either ) and so they just stayed home. And lastly, when is the last time your own party ( Lincoln Project and Vote Vets ) started pacs against their own. Not sure about Vote Vets, but the Lincoln Project Pac is conservative Reps. Also, no president in my voting history ever displayed such love and care for other dictators while shunning the intelligence and advice from his own cabinet and career officials. Trump has unraveled the Reps. party and I feel they won't get anywhere for the longest time and may have to re-group and possibly re-name themselves. They have gone over the edge big time and they have rang a lot of bells they cannot now un-ring. They have made a history for themselves that I don't think is sustainable.
There are groups that have come out of the cold and dark, and their will be little place left for them once the current situation is changed in January. Due to Trump they are known now. Lastly, Democrats outnumber Reps. You just have to have Democrats willing to vote. I think this time they are more than willing.

I was reading an interesting comment about those unaffiliated-with-a-party voters--who've already voted--almost 12 million of them. The fellow was saying that those are usually young people and people of color...I've just been feeling all along that young people don't much like Trump, at least the ones I've talked to. So I hope that big group has gone for Biden.....
