Speaking of intelligent blondes...First Lady elect Dr.Jill Biden!

Ivanka and Kayleigh are products of the patriarchy. In order to have any power, they must attach themselves to powerful men, and to gain and keep acceptance, they must satisfy the male gaze. This way men can tune them out while feasting on their looks. The women think they have power but it is conditional; they must please men as eye candy first to get any traction. This is really nothing new.

    *

Yes, that’s how I called the mask mandate shift: no longer a test of loyalty. Very noticeable. OH and WV governors both Republicans and it is only now they feel politically safe to publicly combat Covid without fear of retribution. NO BALLS. M—-f*ckers.

    .

I’m not sure what can be done with Mitch, but Dems will play different politics after seeing Trump break all the rules. Gloves off, as they say.

Here are two more wonderful JFK stories:

*when he was running for the Democratic nomination in 1960, JFK spent a day in my little town. He toured some local points of interest, had a press conference, and later spoke at a banquet of the Democratic faithful. Between the press conference and banquet, he retired to a hotel room for a little down time. Since a candidate never really gets to eat at a banquet, one of his aides called down to the kitchen and ordered a steak. After eating, Kennedy called the kitchen and personally thanked the cook. She was over-the-moon thrilled and never, ever forgot it. When she died many years later, she made sure that story played a prominent role in her obituary.

*(I think this story took place during the transition). Kennedy was at his parent's home in Palm Beach having a work day out by their pool. It was hot & humid and Kennedy realized how miserable the Secret Service Agents must be in their suits. He went in and scrounged around for some of his own casual flowery shirts, brought them out, and insisted the agents change into them.

Yup, we FINALLY have a mask mandate here in North Dakota. By making it political, the President of the United States is directly complicit in the misery we are all experiencing. Speaking of misery, I had a Covid test yesterday. Even though I am very, very careful; I've either come down with it or I have a bad case of a allergies/sinus infection/cold combination. Either way, I am feeling pretty miserable.

OH, no, Ruth. Please keep us posted!! Hoping for negative.

Glad that ND, WV and Utah finally have mask mandates, now that they Repub governors no longer have to worry about tRump's displeasure. Wish I could say the same for FL's governor. But his head is so far up tRump's ass, he will never see the light of day again.

I love those JFK stories. If you want to read more, I would recommend Clint Hill's books. He was in the Secret Service under 5 presidents, and he was Mrs Kennedy's personal agent.

Mrs. Kennedy and Me: An intimate memoir

Five Presidents: My extraordinary journey with Eisenhower, Kennedy, Johnson, Nixon and Ford.

Those are the 2 books that I read, and I found them fascinating. Mr Hill felt blame about Kennedy's assassination. He wanted to ride on the bumper of the car, but Kennedy himself didn't want him to. So Hill was on the car behind. Hill felt if he was closer, maybe he could have prevented his death. What a thing to live with.

I have been really enjoying all the memes here. I don't post much but was compelled to do so after reading ddfair's message about Nancy Pelosi. I thought that was disturbing and disgusting.

Ruth: Hope your test is negative and wish you a speedy recovery.

Glennie: Love the above Guiliani sign and your other postings. Thanks for the book recommendations. The pandemic has given me the opportunity to indulge my passion without feeling guilty. My retail therapy is now online for new or used books. Loved JFK and Jackie.

Trill: Was so shocked when trump bashed Baltimore for no known reason other than his ability to pout vitriol. He did the same for Philly and we see how that went. We can bash Philly but do not let outsiders do so.

DivineMrsM: your thoughts on blondes like the WH spoiled daughter and the brainless mcninny are spot on. h

Clint Hill's books are wonderful. He is from North Dakota and has come back over the years and spoken at different events and received various awards, so I have a special place in my heart for him.

Nancy Pelosi is the only person with enough political savvy to keep both Donald Trump and her own fractious caucus (which would be like herding cats) under control. She is a lightning rod, and I expect she could care less, she wants to get things done.

Ruth, I am so sorry you are even having to think about this now! And that you are feeling poorly on top of it--grrrr! I hope your test comes back negative.......I've never wished a sinus infection on anyone but in this case I do hope that's all you have--very treatable--now.....

I wear a mask I got from a place called Boomer Naturals...I barely glanced at the details about the first one but when i went to order a second--first one's getting a bit worn after all the washings--I saw that they are made using nano-silver....I had no idea what this was so Googled it.....I don't know if this is a lot of hooey or not but here's some info on this particular product..I love the masks no matter what--nice soft layers, wire at the nose, adjustable elastic ear straps, can take a beating...

    Here's the info---

I was just going through the news on my iPhone and saw a clip of DT's three-black-vehicle "parade" in DC ....along with those flag-bearing assholes who love him.....

Oh my God---as the entourage flowed along, a woman close to the camera was practically orgasmic when DT's vehicle got near her....chilling.....these people are living in la-la land over this guy....like he's the Second Coming......

Will be so glad when he is gone gone gone....

Glennie and Betrayal, oh how I love those signs/memes. I became dis-enamored with Giuliani a while after 9/11 because when he (like the orange loony he so adores ) started to lose recognition, he endlessly made 9/11 references. It was the one thing that brought him nearly world-wide fame and notoriety and the thought that people would get over his role in New York and move past him was more than he could stand. I always wanted to shout -- we are no longer in that arena and you have had time to take your bows and it is un-becoming to still be demanding favor for doing what anyone should have done at the time. You were revered for it and thanked profusely and we are far enough along the way to let your show/part of it rest in peace.

Hmmm, to that end, I sort of wonder will Trump have to reference his time in the WH. With people who still show him favor, it might work, but I think in the end, and I've always thought it, the history books will be quite brutally honest and therefore brutally painful to him I'd think. The worst mistake the U.S. ever made. At least those who voted for the monster. Well, it may well be his family ( I presume many of them read unlike Trump ) who get exposed to the view of what was done and foisted off on the world, the U.S. and the people who saw him as so wrong.

Ruth -- count me in as well with much hope that you don't have covid either. I hope as well that it is just sinus issues which should resolve far easier and hopefully leave little behind.

Ruth, I hope you do not have the coronavirus and am sending along good vibes that you start feeling better soon.

Jackie, ohmygosh, yes. We don’t know what Biden is up to and thank heavens for that!

I read the Mrs. Kennedy and Me book, too, and loved it. I haven’t read the other book but will put it on my list. Jill Biden also wrote an autobiography, and it’s also very good.

I started reading the "Melania and Me" tell all by her former best friend. I don't care for the writing style, it's kind of boring. Just get me to the salacious stuff, haha! However, the author did include this very telling excerpt from one of Ivanka's books, and just where do you think she learned it:

Have been indulging in Ghirardelli Peppermint Squares lately. I think I am finally relaxing with the idea that very soon we will be in totally safe hands. Now and then I allow myself to think of how often I was nervous up to and through the election. I never completely lost hope because I think when you have decency inside of you -- it will find its way out. I was concerned that there were a lot more people who were seeming awfully indecent since Trump turned up four yrs. ago to have Putin help him win in 2016.

I read a piece and maybe even shared it, but the gist of it was that maybe we are fortunate that Trump was as dumb as a pole. The truth he ( though he had a lot of direction and heavy encouragement from many around him ) what if he had been someone who was not mentally challenged. Someone who could be highly strategic. Coupled with the others to help, we could have been much worse right now.

He was a total buffoon at times ( thinking of him walking up the plane stairs with the toilet paper on his heel ) but evil and vindictive at others. We saw a lot of faces, and a lot of things that were said because he wasn't smart enough to be a complete manipulator. He often said everything he planned to do and then did it. Just wow !!

I'm relaxed, if worried about all the things that could be messed with till the transfer of office takes place, but I know that at some point, just like I did with Pres. Obama, I'll be able to go days if I'm busy and not worry about what is going on at the WH. We will have a REAL President and Commander-in-Chief.
