On CBS's 60 Minutes last week, they did a segment on the upcoming vaccines. This week at the end of the show, where they read some letters from viewers, one guy called them out as "biased, why didn't you tell this before the election?" Like,, why, would it have made a difference in how people vote? It sure wouldn't affect me.
I saw a post by Lissa Rankin on Facebook with a link to this article. It is shocking to see how many New Age authors, teachers, yoga instructors, wellness influencers are now supporting and promoting QAnon. I had no idea. It is shocking.

Interesting article, glennie, about how many wellness gurus are pushing the Qanon agenda. Too many people love to believe there's a conspiracy around every corner yet don't require actual proof. Like they say, if you read it on the internet, it MUST be true!
Today I saw a headline where OH gov DeWine has fallen out of favor with Trump because of DeWine's stricter stance on Covid. No surprise. But DeWine sees Don as the quack lame duck that he is and is bulldozing overtop him to take care of Ohio.
It feels to me as if Trump is now using the rapidly spreading of Covid and doing nothing to help rein it in as a punishment to his base, as in "you didn't help me win the election, so I will make you suffer, serves you suckers right."

I was talking about Covid with my brother over the weekend. We were gonna get together at his place for a big meal with a friend of ours and I was advised NOT to do it.....to hold off on getting together now......his friend Sandi lives with her 90-year-old mom and I'd hate to pass on something that gets to her...or anyone else for that matter.
I was talking about the vaccines they are working on and asked my brother if he'd get one when they come out. He's NEVER had a flu vaccine and at first was sounding negative about it. He's 75 now. Anyway, I said to him that I WILL get the vaccine once it's ok'ed but if he DOESN'T get it we can't get together very much...... I will be protected (hopefully ) but he would not be from any virus particles I may have on me etc.....
He just sounds like the anti-vaxxers out there. And his friend who lives with her elderly mom is so anti stuff and believes in things like chem-trails etc that I wonder if SHE is gonna say no to a vaccine also....!!
When I said to him that we couldn't get together much if I'D had the vaccine and he hadn't, he relented and said, "Well, guess I will get it then...."
These folks who believe crapola! I love Sandi--his friend and mine--but she gets these kooky ideas.....
(God--I never thought I'd have to vaccinate myself against the people who've been closest to me just because they believe untruths about vaccinations.... )

BlueGirl, society has always had the double standard when it comes to powerful women vs powerful men. The patriarchy has conditioned many from birth to insist women be submissive nurturers who should bow to the rule of men. It is closed-minded people who have difficulties accepting that women can be and are strong, that they can lead and are sometimes even smarter and can sometimes do a better job than men. I always like the expression, "Women hold up half the sky."
As a society, we've been conditioned not to place importance on womens' voices, opinions or give much credence to their life experiences, and are conditioned to elevate all these things about men. Think of all the white male history we were taught growing up. The only women we learned about were Dolly Madison who sewed a flag, and Marie Curie who discovered radium. From the beginning, TV shows and movies have been written, directed and produced largely by men who shove their idolized fantasy of what they think women should be (rather than show them as they truly are) which means women are portrayed as females who don't speak much but look great on the arm of a man as he saves the world; advertising is like that, too. As women opened doors for careers other than teacher and nurse and mom, they began being attacked for their physical appearance. Women are not allowed to look like they enjoy food--women's pleasure is a threat to society, plus they're only supposed to be concerned that *other* people have enough to eat---no, they must be stick thin with big tits so they are attractive to men. They are not supposed to take up space in the world, physcial or otherwise. Oh, I could go on.....
I read an article today about a South Dakota nurse who said she sees some patients so in denial that Covid is real, that even on their death beds, they are insisting they have the flu or lung cancer rather than believe the coronavirus is killing them. Isn't that sad? What does that say about the power of belief and being close-minded? I freely admit, I don't have compassion for those who refuse to see the reality of their own situation.

This is a link to how game theory is used with conspiracy theories to entrap people. My gamer DS and his wife sent it to me. It involves asking questions and searching for clues. All this rather than believe facts presented by MSM, doctors or professors. There is a lot of ownership in “finding” the answer rather than learning about a subject. This all got started when my brother messaged me that his wife, son and live-in girlfriend have Covid. The conversation went from send me some recipes to Hunter Biden conspiracies. I told him I was not going down that rabbit hole. He wanted a definition of a rabbit hole. Gees! Conspiracy theorists are the worst.
Ruth - I hope you are doing better. This disease is nothing to mess around with. I have no problem taking a vaccine. I am 99% sure I will wait until the end of 2021 once we see how well it works with others. I have no problem wearing a mask and/or staying home until it is proven to have very limited side effects.
I heard somewhere today, Trump is waiting for December 14 to concede. That is when all the states will be certified and the Electoral College delegates seated. He really has no choice after that. It will impact the transition, but Biden has been there before and sure be able to get set up quickly.

How can that date be correct when he was denying there was even an issue with Covid? She needs a reality check. If he partnered with Moderna does this mean the family will fiscally benefit from the vaccine? If so, they are indeed shameless grifters and on the backs of so many dead.

A quick update: I got the Covid results back & unsurprisingly I am positive. I did a virtual appointment with my clinic just to see if I should be doing anything different & really there is nothing to do but isolate, take Tylenol, drink fluids and wait it out. I have been taking my temperature twice a day and borrowed a friend's oximeter so I can keep track of the statistics. The PA also prescribed an inhaler and prednisone, so those might make me feel a little better. I probably have 5 days of feeling rotten to go. Sigh!

Oh no, Ruth! So sorry about your diagnosis. I hope you have a big stack of books to occupy your time while you rest and recuperate. I’m crossing my fingers that all the care you’ve taken in the past will mean you have one of the less serious cases (sending prayers that is so!). Take good care of yourself and get well soon!

Welcome to the club, Ruth. I hope you just have the bad-cold version, and it never gets worse. Rest well, keep up your fluids, and be patient with your body. I recovered in September, and still occasionally get hit with a wall of fatigue. (Mind you, that could also be the anastrozole.) We're all pulling for a full recovery for you!!
My first antibody test came back negative (this was after two COVID positives), but the antibody test they ran during my wellness checkup last week came back positive.

Ruth--- So sorry to hear your news.....the P. oximeter ( I got one too) will be a good friend to have (mine is reassuring to me)....as will the inhaler......lay low, lean back, and think of Donald, whining around the White House like a child.....
