    Ruth - I'm sorry to hear that it came back positive. I know that you are an active person so when you can take some walks around the house and deep breaths. According to Chris Cuomo that helped him when he had it. I hope it's a more mild case of it and that you feel better soon. It's too bad you can't get the Trump Virus Special Treatment Walter Reed suite complete with helicopter ride. ;

Since I'm from a Red State, maybe I should message Donald. He would undoubtedly sent the helicopter out to pick me up and whisk me off to Walter Reed.

Thanks for the reminder to move. I am drinking so much water that I am up & down a lot just going to the bathroom!

And when we come to think of it, goodness is uneventful. It does not flash, it glows. It is deep, quiet, and very simple. It passes not with oratory, it is commonly foreign to riches, nor does it often sit in the places of the mighty: but may be felt in the touch of a friendly hand or the look of a kindly eye. -David Grayson

Ruth, I'm so sorry to hear that you tested positive. Yes, try to keep moving as much as possible, and deep breathing.

Here's a link I found on Johns Hopkins on breathing exercises. I'm sure there are more out there.

I hope you feel better soon.

Ruth, please count me in on hoping that you get through this with minimal upset. I think you do take good care of yourself and that should go a long way in giving you a boost others may not have. I prayed that no one I knew and cared about would get the horrid stuff but some of you or your families have and it hurts to wonder how many may have been spared had this been handled when and like it should have been. Healing thoughts and prayers with you as you recover.

Ruth, hope you are as comfortable as possible, so sorry to learn you tested positive.

Librarian, I read the article you posted about gaming theory used to create conspiracy theory. It wasn't an easy concept for me to understand and I'll ask my son to shed more light on it for me. But it sounds like people are intentionally fed information that has nothing to do with anything and they are persuaded to make something of it. I'm sick of people who find a conspiracy in absolutely everything. Some of dh's family is like that. His sister knew someone who died of a heroin overdose but they had been in rehab and off the stuff, so she claimed it was murder. She was a jeweler and claimed her boss was involved in some kind of stolen diamond cartel and said men showed up at her door and threatened her. Plus all the Trump conspiracies. Her adult son is the same way. He believes Bill Gates is sterilizing thousands of African women against their will. But he only refers to him as Bill. As if “Bill" is his neighbor.

My mother suffered from mental illness. She could function incredibly well for years and then she would slide down into a break from reality. Be hospitalized. Then get better with medicine. Then go through the whole cycle time and again. We kids were so hyper aware of this that my mom would be sailing wonderfully through life then wake up one morning and say something casually bizarre in the middle of a normal conversation, and we knew her next reality break was a month or two away. I think it's because of this experience that I have a hyper aware bullshit meter. I know what living with a mentally ill person is like. I know what reality is. I'm not easily persuaded.

I found some interesting information online about therapeutics for Covid19. The info came from The National Institute of Health (NIH), so it is on the up and up. They recommend using Cetirizine (Zyrtec) and Famotidine (Pepcid) together. They are dual histamine blockers and seem to help with pulmonary symptoms and to reduce the risk of a cytokine storm. Both are over the counter, and have minimal side effects. The dose for Zyrtec is 10mg and for Pepcid it is 20mg.

I don't know if it will help, Ruth, but my thought would be that it can't hurt. Maybe you can ask your doctor about it.

    Hoping for a speedy recovery.

    Trish

The Senate on Tuesday rejected a move to advance President Donald Trump's nomination of Judy Shelton to the Federal Reserve Board, thanks to the absence of key GOP lawmakers and opposition from others.

The move is the latest setback on the Fed for Trump, who has seen several of his other picks for the central bank rebuffed.

I'm so sorry Ruth! I copied and pasted what you are doing for your symptoms... just in case. Yes, my Daughter in Orlando also told me about Pepcid, and Vitamin D.... And then the news about Melatonin came out today.

Anything to help, would be worth it... Drinking water, and walking, has to help also! I'm just so afraid to catch the virus... for me and my Husband!

Please let us know how you are doing... Thinking about you.... xoxo

This was good news to me, but I have to admit that the election and so many matters ( lawsuits and the like ) having to do with that in addition to Trumps antics in all of it, I have I think missed out on decisions like the above regarding other nominations and people.

People, even some of the Republican ( no matter how silently for now ) are ready to just watch Trump walk away or get dragged away when it is time for the transfer to take place. I do think ( because it sounds like something he would do ) Trump could leave for X-mas and just not come back. He really can't stand losing and certainly can't actually admit it, so he may want to stay a bit in the background. In any case, I'm sure he wouldn't participate in anything having to do with Pres-elect Biden in any way -- so obvious he would be as the loser. So, if he doesn't come back fine. I would like nothing to mar Biden as he and Jill get sworn into office.

It will be so fantastic to have a REAL first lady again as well.

Well what do you know....I am taking much of what they recommend for Covid due to Chronic Hives and insomnia. I take 40mg Zyrtec (under the direction of my immunologist) and Pepcid 20mg BID and have for 2 years now. I take at least 15mg of Melatonin every night. Coincidentally I also take Plaquenil for my hives, that is the drug that was initially touted as a Covid cure all. These hives have been nothing short of hell to deal with, but they have certainly prepared me for Covid well. I also take 4000iu of Vit D daily.

Jackie, my understanding is that Judy Shelton's appointment is only blocked for now since Mitch used a maneuver that would let him bring the issue back to the floor if he wants.

To some of us, First Ladies matter. Trumpers don’t care. They bulldoze over our feelings because to them, U.S. history and tradition has little importance. I’ve read many biographies and autobiographies of both Dem and Rep first ladies and visited the 1st Ladies Museum in Akron. I’ve read additional books on the WH residence staff, WH Christmas themes over the years, even the WH floral designer wrote a book. Imo, every single 1st Lady accomplished and contributed greatly to our country. Except this Melania. She never connected with the public. She had absolutely no clue how to be an effective 1st Lady. To Trumpers, she is just 3rd wife. Trumpers worship Don, not her. They give not two craps about her anti-bullying platform. They are glad she never outshone Don. Yes, I’m so looking forward to Jill Biden stepping into the 1st Lady role Jan 20.

Divine - There are definitely Trumpets who love Melania. They hated Michelle (because they're racists), and they welcomed Melania (because they're racists). I wonder if they heard Melania on tape complaining about having to decorate for "f*cking Christmas" (because she doesn't care).

It is said that some of the Trumpers will de-program over time and get back to more normal living as Trump’s prominence fades in the main stream media and social media. I sure hope that many do.

I know I’m not alone when I say even I have been so angst-ridden with all events leading up to and including the election that it is taking me time to find more normalcy in my everyday activities. A couple days before the election, I had a hard time swallowing food. I was so worked up and worried about what the election results would be, I could not eat and could not think very well. Today I finally felt like I was starting to move on. I puttered around the house doing miscellaneous cleaning and making a Thanksgiving menu for just dh, me, ds and his girlfriend; finally having room for thoughts other than all consuming politics.

They say Trump has little to nothing on his daily agenda. No surprise. Not reading or hearing of more mean spirited, lying Trump tweets or having to put up with dominant Trump trains is the break we ALL needed.

Hear, hear, Divine. I want to not have to think about politics for days, even weeks, on end. Imagine waking up and not checking first thing to see what asinine thing our President has done. Heaven. Pure heaven.

I did want to share that about 10 days before the election, I had a dream. In it, I was standing around with 4 or 5 other people, anonymous in my dream, and we spontaneously began singing “Row Row Row Your Boat" as a 4-part round with each person or couple of persons chiming in at the right time. We sang it all the way through, and when we were finished, I thought to myself, “wow, that sounded so nice and we sang it all the way through with no mistakes from beginning to end". I woke up with a very positive feeling and wondered if somehow this was a dream sent to me to let me know the election would go to Biden, that we the people were all doing our part, different parts but together, to make sure there was a good outcome. I never had a dream like that before and I’m no singer by any means. And eventually, angst trickled back in but I kept reminding myself of the dream, hoping it meant something.
