Yeah---right---he didn't pressure her----just concerned about her safety. I'll believe that as soon as I start believing the moon is made of cheese.

    And "busy"??? Yeah--busy being a sore-loser jackass!!

And it didn't influence her? Who's she kidding? Can't tell me she wasn't wriggling in her chair every second of that call. She probably would have taken a bullet for him right then and there....

Republicans are duel-pronged: they are selfish, ruthless, and at the same time chicken-shitted.

What--that's THREE prongs.... what's that make? A trident!

Time for King Neptune to come with his and drag them all into the swamp DT promised to drain and now fills with his enormous self.....

Sorry for the mixed metaphor stew!

Thanks Ruth! So glad to hear your news every day! I'm just afraid of the virus, for me AND my Husband!

Heard they are closing the little bar he walks down to a couple times a week! I AM JUST HAPPY HE CAN'T GO! You know, I understand how hard it is for some men to stay home ALL the time, but I just worry when he walks down there. Yes, they do wear masks, and no "bar"... just tables.... but STILL! He talks to his buddies, but "oh well".... damnit! Seems men don't take this as seriously as we gals do.... At least most of us do.... And that we aren't following the guidelines of our infamous so called leader.... Do you guys really think he HAD the virus? For a week-end? Or was that sick-day all for publicity and to prove he is superman?

If he did have it, and I'm not convinced he did, he probably had such a minuscule viral load, that it's shocking it was even detected. That would be the only way to explain the behavior of the people around him, including Mark Meadows riding in the helicopter with him and the SS agents willing to drive him around. Nothing else makes sense.

So I just caught a few minutes of President-elect Biden holding a press conference and he was talking about covid. It was so reassuring and exactly what I wanted and needed to hear from the leader of my country. He is working together with governors, not fighting about ventilators and PPE and god-only-knows-what-else.

    CNN summarized his press conference:

He said he met with a group of 10 different governors today to discuss a litany of issues they are facing due to the coronavirus pandemic.

“Among the issues discussed was getting governors economic relief because the pandemic has been "devastating" to state budgets, Biden said this afternoon during a news conference in Wilmington, Delaware.

"States and communities shouldn't have to lay off teachers, cops, firefighters, cut vital services," Biden added.

Biden also discussed the need to provide a safe and free coronavirus vaccine, which will also require a "massive public education campaign," he added.

The third and fourth items discussed with the governors was National Guard funding and the implementation of a national mask mandate.

"Ten governors, Democrat and Republican, have imposed masking requirements and recognized the need for universal masking, north, south, east and west. It's not a political statement. It's a patriotic duty," Biden said.

The last area of discussion was on Covid-19 testing, which needs to be more available and accessible, Biden added.

"The bottom line, we can do this. There's nothing beyond our capacity, but we have to come together as a country," he added

Here is more about the press conference that must have been covered before I came across it. Please share on social media. We need to start spreading Biden news left, right and center and start burying news about Trump. Trump's shit is causing the most rancid, putrid stench in the White House the longer he hunkers down there failing to concede.

    https://www.cnn.com/politics/live-news/biden-trump-us-election-news-11-19-20/index.html

Biden: "I am not going to shut down the economy, period"

President-elect Joe Biden vowed today that he would not shut down the economy as the US continues to struggle under the weight of the coronavirus pandemic.

"I am not going to shut down the economy, period. I'm going to shut down the virus. That's what I'm going to shut down," Biden said.

Biden added: "No national shutdown, because every region, every area, every community can be different. And so there's no circumstance which I can see that would require total national shutdown. I think that would be counterproductive."

Biden says he's made a decision on Treasury secretary

    From CNN's Sarah Mucha

Joe Biden said that he and his team have made the decision about who will serve as Treasury secretary in his administration, telling reporters that they'll hear his choice "soon" — either before or shortly after Thanksgiving.

"You'll find it is someone that will be accepted by all elements of the Democratic party — from the progressive and the moderate coalitions," he said.

Read more about who could serve in top roles of the Biden-Harris administration here.

Trump Has Abdicated in the Face of Disaster

The nation faces an unprecedented crisis, and the president has left a void.

    David A. Graham

    https://www.theatlantic.com/ideas/archive/2020/11/president-has-abdicated/617139/

"As those crises first flared, Trump at least had the incentive of a looming reelection campaign to make him go through some of the motions. With the votes cast, he no longer has any reason to even pretend he cares or is doing the work. The nation is left with a president fighting to keep a job he has no interest in actually performing."

(CNN) Georgia has finished its statewide audit of the razor-thin presidential race and President-elect Joe Biden defeated President Donald Trump, according to a news release from the Secretary of State's office.

Biden beat Trump by 12,284 votes, according to the final results from the audit. This is a slight drop for Biden compared to the pre-audit results.

Officials have said repeatedly that the audit confirmed there was no widespread fraud or irregularities in the election

Georgia is required under state law to certify its election results by Friday.

There is no state where the sting of Trump's loss has been more acutely felt than in the red state of Georgia. The suburban revolt against Trump in the suburbs surrounding Atlanta, paired with huge turnout among Black voters, powered Biden's gains in the state, building on years of intensive Democratic organizing to register voters. The state is now the center of the political universe, because the two US Senate runoff elections will determine which political party controls the Senate.

The President has continued to tweet debunked disinformation about voting software used in the state and objected to the recount as "fake" by tweeting false claims about the state's signature-matching process.

During the weeklong recount, officials in four counties found new batches of votes that weren't counted on Election Day or weren't properly transmitted to the Secretary of State for tallying.

In all, more than 5,800 uncounted votes were uncovered, netting nearly 1,400 new votes for Trump, who falsely said the discoveries were proof of wrongdoing. State officials stressed that these were accidents caused by human error and not indicative of fraud or vote-rigging.

Georgia Secretary of State Brad Raffensperger, a Republican, has come under fire from both Trump and the state's sitting GOP senators, David Perdue and Kelly Loeffler, who called on him to resign after falsely accusing him of failing to "deliver honest and transparent elections."

Raffensperger told CNN's Jake Tapper on Wednesday that the state has "not seen widespread voter fraud." When asked about the attacks from Trump and members of his own party, he defended his credentials as a "lifelong Republican" and "conservative Christian Republican."

"I'm going to make sure we count every legal, lawful vote and we're not going to count any illegal votes," Raffensperger said. "My record will stand on itself. We have done a great job."

Love the memes as well as all entries. Yes, the fat orange guy would like to just ignore/overthrow the government -- nullify any votes not for him and just carry on. I'm positive that won't happen. People didn't risk their lives to go vote to see it dispersed by an orange baby-in-chief. We will be fine. I think most places would find it hard/exceptionally transparent to do what Trump wants and in some cases I also think the Reps. are on thin ice and have been for some time. In the end, I don't think they would take that big a risk.

It could happen, but it won't. We will take over and once again save the very people who always do their level best to take advantage and do us in. Shameful of them but all they know is winning by ANY and ALL means. They have behaved that way for a long time. It is losing its charm -- what little it had because we are taking our country back from Trump and his swamp creatures.

In Jean Edward Smith's biography of George W. Bush, he wrote about what President Bush thought of President-elect Obama during the transition period.

    On page 650, it states:

"As part of the presidential transition, Barack Obama asked Bush if it would be possible for him to meet all the ex-presidents. Bush was happy to oblige, and organized a White House luncheon in the Oval Office on January 7. Bush and Obama were joined by Jimmy Carter, Bill Clinton, and George H. W. Bush. The luncheon lasted over two hours, each former president ordered his lunch à la carte from the White House mess, and the tone was convivial and friendly. "All the gentlemen here understand both the pressures and possibilities of this office," said Obama before the meeting. "For me to have the opportunity to get advice, good counsel and fellowship with these individuals is extraordinary, and I just want to thank the President for hosting us."

Bush was equally effusive. "We want you to succeed," he replied. "Whether we're Democrat or Republican we care deeply about this country. And to the extent we can we look forward to sharing out experiences with you. All of us who have served in this office understand that the office transcends the individual."

Off-topic a bit but am trying to give myself my first Dupixent pre-filled pen injection...first one failed ...ugh... just warmed up the second and called them for help...she said to push down the top as though pushing down a pen top to make it descend but the video guy doesn't push down on the top and the paper that came with it shows a hand grasping--all four fingers wrapped around it as they push it down.. i pinched the roll of fat on my middle and put the pen in and waited and nothing happened--it didn't fire. I began the warm-up of the second pen....am now waiting for them to call me back and guide me through this for a second time... wonder if I didn't press hard enough or that roll of fat is too soft to fire the device...not enough pressure..they say to have the pen's yellow top sink into the skin, which I did.... so now I wait and cross fingers...maybe I should shoot in my thigh? But I'd rather do it in my stomach....any tips? Anybody go through this?

Trill, I don’t have any experience in giving self injections. Are there any additional videos you can look up to find additional tips on how to successfully administer it? You will get it eventually, just sounds like there’s a bit of a learning curve at first.

Ruth, your post about Obama asking to meet the other presidents and W accommodating that request and that they all complied AND said, “We want you to succeed.” It brought tears to my eyes!

Thanks, Divine! I got a call from Dupixent and the nurse guided me through and --it worked! Yay! It went in just like that. I think I wasn't giving it enough of a push--a firm push--to make it "fire".....didn't hurt a bit....I'm kinda disappointed---NOT!!! LOl!! Thanks again!

The above is the same question I had been mulling over in my own mind !! I have wondered if some of the people around Trump have kept him from totally going over the edge by keeping him a bit hyped about different possibilities of things he 'might' try to do. I also think it is a part of his horrid sickness that he would think everyone would just roll over and let him get away with something so wrong. It is for sure he doesn't care about honor and dignity but to just more or less ignore the fact you are a loser ( not that he hasn't done that all his life ) is well beyond me.

Makes it more imperative that he not only not be allowed to use this avenue, but that he needs to be held very accountable for as much as possible once he leaves office. Before this person exits this life, he should have to finally reap something of what he has sown. I think SDNY sounds like they have had a leg up on this for a bit. I hope it is true.

Even though he talked about losing, I'm not sure he believed it for one second. And he was not and still isn't interested in the " job ". He wants the power and grifting part of it and the rest can go to someone else. He seems to have spoken enough about fraud and other nebulous means of the Democrats winning that he actually believes there was some -- on our part. The idea of getting something fair and square is alien to him. He has never done it.
