Divine, that is absolutely what happened. All of those jobs that so often defined what makes the U.S. great were mocked -- trampled almost to oblivion, but in Biden all will be restored. Obviously that is what the majority of people desperately want. We want what is "normal" behavior in our government -- even when we find fault with some things. We want the familiar, the warm slippers and cozy fire in the fireplace.

Trump ( those who actually helped shape his regime ) chose to degrade everything as much as possible. There are those who hate government, and felt left behind ( many actually were ) and he gave them license to build on hate which is why he found such admiring followers. I'm so thrilled that class and distinction are making a huge come-back and that we can take our place at the world's table again. Out with the old and in with the new for 2021.

(CNN)Secretary of State Mike Pompeo is quarantining after coming into contact with someone who tested positive for coronavirus, but he himself "has been tested and is negative," the State Department announced Wednesday.

"Secretary Pompeo has been identified as having come into contact with someone who tested positive for COVID," a State Department spokesperson said. "For reasons of privacy we can't identify that individual."

"The Secretary has been tested and is negative. In accordance with CDC guidelines, he will be in quarantine," they said. "He is being closely monitored by the Department's medical team."

It is unclear when or where the top US diplomat came into contact with the individual who tested positive. CNN has reached out to the State Department for further details.

Pompeo's Wednesday schedule listed him as having no public appointments. President Donald Trump is scheduled to hold a Cabinet meeting Wednesday morning. Dozens of people in Trump's orbit, as well as the President himself, have tested positive for coronavirus. Pompeo visited the White House on Friday.

Pompeo was slated to meet with President-elect Joe Biden's pick to succeed him, Antony Blinken, on Thursday for the first time, CNN reported this week. He will no longer meet in person with Blinken, sources familiar with the meeting tell CNN. It is unclear if the meeting will take place virtually.

The news of Pompeo's exposure to the disease comes as the Trump administration has hosted a slew of in-person holiday parties at both the White House and the State Department, even as the United States' daily Covid case counts and death rates continue to climb.

Pompeo's office has canceled two holiday gatherings for foreign ambassadors in Washington that were scheduled to take place at the department Wednesday and where Pompeo was scheduled to give remarks, according to an internal schedule reviewed by CNN.

He and his wife, Susan Pompeo, did not attend a reception Tuesday for family members of diplomats stationed at dangerous posts overseas, a source familiar with the event told CNN. Deputy Secretary of State Stephen Biegun attended and gave remarks in his place. 900 people were invited to that event, but a mere fraction actually attended.

The American Foreign Service Association, the professional association and labor union for the US foreign service, in early December urged the State Department to cancel its planned receptions, "reverse course and model responsible behavior in accordance with its own guidelines."

Officials at the State Department had expressed outrage about the events, fearing they put employees' health and well-being at risk at a time when they were being told to avoid hosting gatherings and to work from home as much as possible.

If/When you call your elected representatives to ask them to congratulate Biden they should be reminded that not only did Biden win the popular vote, but he won the electoral college by the same margin that Trump did in 2016. 2016 Trump 306, Clinton 232 ; 2020 Biden 306, Trump 232. Too bad we will need to celebrate virtually this year because of Covid.

Neighbors are taking legal action to prevent Trump from moving there, creating an embarrassing situation for Trump. "There's absolutely no legal theory under which he can use that property as both a residence and a club," one neighbor told the Washington Post. Ruin Donnie's Day! Spread the word! CALL TO ACTIVISM'

This is going to be interesting. Since he has broken the covenant any number of times I'm sure he could use that to get a foot in the door, so to speak. I think the real issue is since he is no longer going to be a president ( not that he ever actually was ) is he will not be looked at as being at Mara -Lago on a temporary basis as it may have been viewed before. A newsperson said that Palm Beach is pretty strict about these things and in a way I think it would be hilarious if he has to find himself another residence should he wish to actually live in Florida.

Happy to see this for sure. I thought he would actually register as In Independent so was a true surprise when I found it was Democrat. Then again, Democrats are the most likely of any to share humility, honor, real fairness, overall ethics and standing tall for the rule of law. They believe in strong foundations.

Loved the prayer and the above grave marker. Yes, drumpf did lobotomize the repugnican party but after Bush 43 there wasn't too much more they had to do.

There is some truth to that one. Hopefully, though they will all be okay. I do think there are a pretty fair number of politicians ( mainly rt. side, of course ) wo would not be missed at all.

He will huff and puff, try to sue. He can go farther south to Miami or Russia. I don’t care, want him out of my state. Palm Beach is 3 hours from me, still too close. Makes it too easy for desantis to get to him.

Constantly exposing yourself to popular culture and the mass media will ultimately shape your reality tunnel in ways that are not necessarily conducive to achieving your Soul Purpose and Life Calling. Modern society has generally "lost the plot." Slavishly following its false gods and idols makes no sense in a spiritually aware life. -Anthon St. Maarten

For the readers in the crowd: I just finished Squeeze Me by Carl Hiaasen. LOLOL! It's set in Palm Beach FL and features Burmese pythons and POTUS.

    Here's the Goodreads summary: https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/50644565-squeeze-me

Carl Hiaasen's Squeeze Me is set among the landed gentry of Palm Beach. A prominent high-society matron--who happens to be a fierce supporter of the President and founding member of the POTUSSIES--has gone missing at a swank gala. When the wealthy dowager, Kiki Pew Fitzsimmons, is later found dead in a concrete grave, panic and chaos erupt. The President immediately declares that Kiki Pew was the victim of rampaging immigrant hordes. This, as it turns out, is far from the truth. Meanwhile a bizarre discovery in the middle of the road brings the First Lady's motorcade to a grinding halt (followed by some grinding between the First Lady and a lovestruck Secret Service agent). Enter Angie Armstrong, wildlife wrangler extraordinaire, who arrives at her own conclusions after she is summoned to the posh island to deal with a mysterious and impolite influx of huge, hungry pythons . . .

imageUnfortunately pythons are a MAJOR problem in the Everglades, which starts not too far from Palm Beach.

The state encourages python hunters to go out to shoot them. They are destroying the ecosystem of the Glades.

Sounds like a true good read, Badger! I'm currently reading a book about Mar a Lago. It spills all the beans on how Trump acquired it, and then proceeded to sue people left right and in between to get what he wanted, whether it was to pay less taxes, be able to build or renovate, not pay for goods purchased and so on. Altho I knew he was sue happy, reading about his Mar a Lago pursuits really crystalized in my mind how he thought the same sue principles he used to get more, more, more were going to allow him to also steal the 2020 election. The book details over and over how Donald love love loves exacting revenge, even on the least little thing someone does to go against him. It's truly his favorite sport. An addiction, I believe.

I think he'll do the same thing with taking up residence there. His lawyers will find other people in Palm Beach who are breaking similar or same rules and use that to show that if they are doing it, so can Trump.

I also feel the media is playing up the story, who knows, Trump may even be behind it, as in, look, I'm going to fight this battle and win, just watch me.
