Dr. Jill Biden's Inauguration Evening Dress had flowers from all 50 States plus the US territories embroidered on it, with the flower of Delaware sewn near her heart and the other flowers branching out from it. What a lovely message from a lovely woman.ETA: "Inside of the coat, representing the lifelong calling and service of Dr. Biden as an educator is a hand embroidery on the lining with a quote from Founding Father Benjamin Franklin:"Tell me and I forget. Teach me and I remember. Involve me and I learn."'The materials used were existing available fabrics to minimize the impact on the environment."

Divine! Please tell me about that coat that became an internet sensation at the Inauguration! What are those crumbs on her shoulders on that coat? Asking for a friend...Winking

Okay Thanks gals! Spookie, I kept trying to enlarge the picture, and couldn't figure it out! It looked like she walked under a tipped over box of Wheaties! I am not very fashion minded.... Hah!

Apparently the Biden grandkids are all being noted for their terrific fashion flair at Inauguration. You will have to google details, I'm still so under the weather with covid I don't have much energy. But they look fabulous....and standing next to Dad, that's First Daughter Ashley Biden rocking a tuxedo. So totally cool. Love it!

Love the pictures Divine! So sorry about you not feeling well... How long has it been now? Are you slowly getting better? Are you in touch with your Doctor?

I will tell you a funny story of my covid delirium. I watched Inauguration festivities Wednesday on and off while still pretty sick in bed. Then I took a nap in the late afternoon. When I woke up in the early evening, I turned the TV back on and there I saw a woman I thought was Supreme Court Justice Amy Coney Barrett speaking into microphones and I was like, “Oh my god, what has happened to our country while I was asleep that Amy Barrett is addressing the nation?"

As I focused in better, I realized that who I was seeing was not Barrett but was in fact the new press secretary, Jen Psaki! And then I was like, “Whoa! No more fake, plastic, perfectly coiffed hair, vacant-eyed Barbie doll fem-bot to have to look at or listen to!" Psaki seems pretty down to earth.

So many journalists going on the record about how a return to normalcy is so very welcoming.

The covid is two steps forward, one step back. I have still been spiking a fever once the Tylenol wears off every six hours or so. That’s after 12 days. Today I am probably the best, but it’s nothing to brag about. But its the first time I’ve been downstairs in a week, first time wearing jeans and not pjs in almost two weeks and I actually am getting my appetite back. I am hoping the fever will finally get gone soon.

Thank you all for your concern. Its true what you read about covid, you feel like you are getting better, then you feel worse again, then you feel like you’re getting better. It’s been a slow process for me.

Here is an odd thing about me. I sneeze every day a couple times. My whole life. Just a natural thing for me. I had not sneezed since my covid symptoms began 12 days ago. This afternoon out of nowhere, I sneezed. I’m taking it as a good sign that my body is returning to normal.

Sneeze away, Divine! Funny about the Amy Coney Barrett vision, now I am going to think of her every time the new press secretary comes on! It is surely nice to listen to a press secretary who doesn't present 'alternative facts' or insult anyone!

DivineMrs. M: Hope you start to feel better soon. And your ACB hallucination struck a funny bone. Glad the bionic barbie with the sharp tongue is gone. Wonder what her next job will be?

I have never known anyone who has had the virus, and I'm looking up to you, to get better fast.... And let us know what worked, and what didn't. So glad you were able to stay home!

I have had a really long ( but good ) day and just now getting on so I've missed most of the news and certainly all of you. Divine -- may I add my wishes and great hope that you get your sneezes back and get well again VERY soon.

So, the impeachment seems to be set to go to the Senate Monday. I think that is good. Trump was able to get a lawyer I read as well. That is good because I was thinking he would arrive w/o one. As Trump is just a 'citizen' now we may not hear much about things until the actual proceedings take place, but in the past Trump has made a lousy client. Surely this lawyer was aware of that. He is going to have to have a really strong personality to over come many of the Trump bad habits. Also, this fomented for a long time before the fruition -- yrs. actually -- so while one could pick over some phrases as to possible meaning, I think in the long run it will be clear that Trump seeks vengeful violence many times.

Well enough about that. I've so enjoyed not getting way too many daily doses and over exposures of people who are hideous and feel as though I'm starting to recall that four yrs. ago we had a normal WH. In fact, we had 8 wonderful yrs. of a normal WH. and even if it takes a while I'm so looking forward to having just that again.

I love the little orange one in the box looking up at Bernie. Reminds me of the two kitty bros. we took in recently. They are both boys named Dilly and Dally due to the fact their mother was seen dilly-dallying with a big orange and white cat.

In the Now, there really is no destination. Each moment is lived for its own sake, even as you move toward whatever you many choose to pursue. When you are focused on some outcome or achievement--or are looking forward to the day when you are able to live in conditions that you imagine will be superior to whatever currently exists--your life right now becomes just an interval on the way to the next event. -Richard Moss

So Melania leaves the White House with the worst final popularity rating ever for a First Lady. No surprise there. She was hugely ineffectual and mostly invisible. History will record her as being involved with a photography session at the White House during the insurrection at the Capitol, and that is all anyone will ever need to know about this cold-hearted woman, very removed from and seemingly unconcerned by the realities of the world around her. While some say she’s smart and can handle Trump, she got played just like everyone else. He suppressed anything she tried to do, she was given little support, and she was woefully in over her head. All Don wants is a trophy wife. The American public wants a First Lady who is dedicated to the country. Trump demanded Melania be dedicated to him.

Jill Biden is already out and about making public appearances and connecting with people. It feels like she already has done more than Mel did her entire four years.

Thanks for asking, Caryn! Today I am doing better. The horrible cough seems finally to have gone and that feels monumental because the constant coughing just wears you down and wears you out. My fever possibly may be gone, too, tho I still haven't gone 24 hours maintaining a normal temp without Tylenol. My appetite is returning. I'm still tired and wear out fast but I can tell worst is over. Phew! Dh, who had completely different symptoms, is doing good, out of quarantine and will return to work Monday. He just had emergency surgery for a burst appendix November 29, so dealing with covid so soon after that recovery feels a bit crazy.

    Camille, glad you're feeling better!

Jackie, I want that doll. The hands on my Bernie action figure are too small for me to knit mittens for them.

My eye feels fine, no pain remaining. At 3 mos., the tumor had shrunken by 10%. Hope my appt. next month shows more shrinkage. Looks absolutely normal unless you know to look at the inner corner which still shows a little scarring (that's where the plaque had been inserted).
