Yes, Biden steers clear of the Republicans trying to smear him. He allows different branches of his cabinet to handle ridiculous stuff like the Republicans trying to claim Joe is going to ban meat. Joe himself doesn’t bother to engage in that shit. Good for him.
They say FDR focused on the nuclear family and providing jobs for the male head of the household. That was the times back then. Biden is changing that landscape by putting his support not just behind men but also including women, single parents, caregivers, children’s education and more. And the Republicans have a problem with that? Biden wants to raise taxes on the rich who will not suffer in any way from paying their fair share. Now who can’t comprehend that? Oh....Jim Jordan....is that you raising your hand?

“After the death of his wife and daughter, newly elected Senator Joe Biden returned to Delaware every night from Washington D.C. on an Amtrak train to be with his young sons. He made the round trip every day the Senate was in session, for 36 years. After Obama was elected, he and Biden rode an Amtrak train together into D.C. for the inauguration. Biden's taken more than 8,200 round trips and traveled more than 2 million miles on Amtrak. "He knew just about everybody that worked in the station and the conductors and other people and Amtrak folks who were on the train for those many, many years that he rode the rail," Amtrak CEO Bill Flynn said of the president.“
All aboard! Biden to help Amtrak mark 50 years on the rails

I put this here because it is true and also because the Reps. had to make a big deal of Biden giving Jill a FLOWER. He would have given her a rose if we still had them in the "Rose" garden that is no more.

I will take this time to rant about the numbers of times we still have to hear about the Trumps although I will admit that most of it is now pretty negative to say the least. I did realize a while back that the possible prosecution of the people who participated in the Jan 6th. insurrection as well as all of the criminal behaviors that were taking place in all four of the Trump yrs. will guarantee that we get more of this rancid disgusting person who was so harmful to our government and still is.
I do think we will in time reach a point where the Reps. will have to give up their inability to let go of Trump insofar as his being able to re-take the office he lost so resoundingly. I do think he will end up in jail if New York has as much as it seems they do. It continues to go pretty slow, but then I wanted him in jail before he even left office -- so it would be slow for me. I do think while building a case on Trump a case is likely being shored up on others who were a part of the whole sordid endeavor. I'll keep praying for patience. Hopefully, by the time we start working a lot harder on the '22 and '24 elections it will have broken open.
Until then I'll just have to get used to the idea that like it or not there will be articles on Trump. He still garners points for news media and as long as he does we will have him showing up.

Music to my ears - keep it coming!!!

This would be such a strain of credulity save for the fact that the Reps. have struggled so hard to dirty Biden that they have brought this all up as actually something to be highly concerned about. They give such meaning to the word idiotic.

I am so happy about this, but still hate that his brother had to retire early due to Trump and the four yrs. of misery that he visited upon everyone. I wish that some high government position could be found for Alexander Vindman

This OOG ( orange, other guy ) needs to be banned from everything that he could benefit from our government that he worked so hard to destroy.

Ah, love that wake-up call. I am truly amazed at the amt. of people ( talking Reps. here ) who still seem to think Trump is somehow viable. The Arizona thing is such a sham. We(/Reps.) have sunk so far. It sometimes seems ( the news media plays this fairly well ) that the Reps. are/will actually gain some ground. I can't say they won't but I sure don't think it will be near as much as the news plays up.
They still have not figured out how to lay a hand on Pres. Biden although I do think some things could get much harder now. I guess my thought is how long can you buffalo people when the Reps. are offering nothing of substance. Pres. Biden is making people's lives measuredly better. He is empathetic, quietly enthusiastic, keeps his head down and works. He is taking care of getting people healthy ( vaccinated ) and making plans for school children and getting solidly back in school. Raising federal wages. He isn't tweeting nonsense daily and saying and doing vindictive things like his predecessor was so well known for. He is willing to work with allies and strengthen those alliances. He is putting us back on the world stage in eventual leadership. The Reps. are trying out lies ( and they take with a certain crowd ) and suppression in as many states as they can, Florida now taking its suppressive turn.
Just amazing !!!

Cindy McCain Rips 'Ludicrous' Arizona Recount: 'The Election Is Over'
(From the Huffington Post)
Cindy McCain on Sunday slapped down the ongoing vote recount in Arizona by a controversial private company as "ludicrous."
"The election is over. Biden won," declared McCain, the widow of the late Arizona Sen. John McCain (R). "I know many of you don't like the outcome, but elections have consequences."
Things are "crazy out there now," she told Jake Tapper on CNN's "State of the Union."
The Arizona Republican Party voted in January to censure McCain for supporting "leftist" causes, opposing Donald Trump's efforts to overturn the election and endorsing Joe Biden in the presidential race. McCain said at the time that she regarded the symbolic action as a "badge of honor."
McCain told Tapper she's glad she endorsed Biden, and would be "proud and honored" to serve in his administration. But she wouldn't comment on a report last month in Politico that she's being vetted to be nominated as U.S. ambassador to the United Nations World Food Program. McCain said right now she's focused on her "grandbabies."
As for the bizarre recount situation in her state, Arizona's Republican-led state Senate has hired the Cyber Ninjas company — which has no experience with elections or ballots — to audit the 2.1 million votes cast in Maricopa County, which includes Phoenix. The company will only audit the Senate and presidential ballots, which were won by Democrats.
The owner and operator of the firm, Doug Logan, is a conspiracy theorist and promoter of Trump's lie that the election was rigged. He retweeted several messages long before the recount even began that any audit would find hundreds of thousands of votes for Trump. The company lost a court battle to keep its audit process a secret.
One of the men photographed examining ballots in the recount last week was a Capitol rally agitator and former state Rep. Anthony Kern, whose own name appears on the ballots as a candidate (he lost reelection in a three-way race) and as an elector for Trump.
Voter advocates and civil rights organizations have asked the Justice Department for federal monitors to make sure ballots aren't damaged or stolen.

Biden doesn't sit in front of the TV watching Fox news and other unnewsworthy channels to gather his intel. Nor does he ingest huge amounts of burgers, drink vast amounts of Coke or slather himself with orange makeup to appear tanned. He doesn't demean others in an attempt to make himself look superior and the list of things he doesn't do, that the moron did, could go on forever. Go Joe.

More from the Huffington Post:
Liz Cheney Slaps Down Trump's Attempt To Redefine 2020 Election As 'THE BIG LIE'
"The 2020 presidential election was not stolen," the Wyoming Republican correctly noted on Monday.Donald Trump lost the 2020 presidential election.
His refusal to acknowledge that fact, buttressed by his ― and his enablers' ― endless lying about it and baseless attempts to overturn it, culminated in the deadly Jan. 6 insurrection at the U.S. Capitol, and Trump's subsequent second impeachment.
House managers summed all that up at the second impeachment trial with one phrase, repeated over and over. They described it as "the big lie."
The shorthand seems to have been effective, because Trump is now trying to claim it for himself and overwrite its meaning with one he likes better ― not unlike what he did with the term "fake news." But Rep. Liz Cheney (R-Wyo.), the third highest-ranking House Republican, keeps reminding him that facts matter.
"The 2020 presidential election was not stolen," Cheney tweeted Monday, roughly an hour after Trump issued a statement in which he described the legitimate 2020 election results as "THE BIG LIE."
"Anyone who claims it was is spreading THE BIG LIE," Cheney continued, aping Trump's use of all caps. Those people are "turning their back on the rule of law, and poisoning our democratic system," she wrote.
Cheney's comment is noteworthy given her leadership role in the GOP and her sustained efforts to steer other Republicans away from Trump's lie about the election results ― which have made her an outlier in the party.
Her stance on Trump has put her at odds with many of her Republican colleagues, including House GOP Leader Kevin McCarthy (Calif.).
Republicans lashed out after President Joe Biden fist-bumped Cheney, along with at least 20 other people, in the House chamber before he addressed a joint session of Congress last week. Cheney stood her ground, citing the importance of civility in politics ― even among people who disagree.
"I disagree strongly w/ @JoeBiden policies," she tweeted afterward, "but when the President reaches out to greet me in the chamber of the US House of Representatives, I will always respond in a civil, respectful & dignified way. We're different political parties. We're not sworn enemies. We're Americans."

I have to admit I’m a bit crushed about the news that Melinda and Bill Gates are divorcing after 27 years of marriage.

I am very sad about that too. Together they have been such a source of good in the world.

Count me in as wishing Bill and Melinda weren't separating/divorcing. It was I think a quiet love story from long ago and I think I really saw it that way. Less attention ( knowing there is always a hidden part ) on money and career and just caring to have an outstanding romance and relationship. It also bothered me a bit that they have three children although I think most in this day and age are more accepting when parents go their separate ways. It does sound like there is not a lot of rancor and that they might successfully be able to keep up their good works even on a separate but equal basis -- at least I sure hope so.
I am hoping that Liz Cheney sticks to her guns and it sounds like she will. The Reps. party is such an un-holy mess and I'm sure she is hoping at the right time she can help attempt the hard work of seeing about putting it back together. Almost doesn't seem possible to me. I watched Trump at his last little Mar'A'Lago adventure talk about how pleased about Arizona and then naming all the states that would 'find' votes for him with the Cyber Thieves company -- oops, that was Ninja's who are recounting in AZ. Well, I veer between feeling Trump well knows he is done but just can't accept or be able to say he 'lost' something. He is keeping his foot in but also I as well think he can't stand NOT being in the limelight -- so he goes along with the idea of the stolen election. The idiots now making up the Reps. party are so overboard they can't dare let go of the 'Trump' voters. So, the conspiracy theorists on the right flourish and infect many in the party and continue to drag it down un-seen by most of the party. Liz Cheney knows and McCarthy is so idiotic he doesn't know which way to go. What a sad state that party is in since they started their orange worship. Doesn't look like they are going to figure it out.

Truly sad because they throw so much like this out and a great good deal of people are seeing Biden do good things that help them. Then again, that separates those who will be against Biden no matter what and those who will "continue" to notice they are not being hurt or mislead, but helped. It will matter.

Facebook was justified in its decision to suspend former President Donald Trump after the Jan. 6 insurrection at the U.S. Capitol, the company's oversight board said on Wednesday.
That means the company does not have to reinstate Trump's access to Facebook and Instagram immediately. But the panel said the company was wrong to impose an indefinite ban and said Facebook has six months to either restore Trump's account, make his suspension permanent, or suspend him for a specific period of time.
