Jackie, Republicans care not one iota, zilch, about quality of candidates. They want CONTROL and it matters not how they get it. Charles Manson could be a candidate and that would try to push him thru of that meant gaining control of the United States. And Trump's base would vote for him to have that control.
People no longer seem to be listening to the debates. It's great that Ryan can cut Vance down in a debate, but Republican voters don't care and are not listening. They want an ass kisser for Trump to be voted into office. No one these days seems to watch debates and change their mind on the candidate according to how they answer questions. The second a Republican is set forth as the candidate for whatever office it may be, regardless of any crap that comes out about this candidate, it is overlooked and pardoned by Republican voters.

Agree totally Divine. I hope the media is off a bit and it is not as close as it sounds to be right now. I'm also hoping that as time progresses, the Reps. will get even more people irate enough over something like Roe V Wade to make a good enough difference that we will keep the House -- if only just barely, and get a couple of extras in the Senate. If all else, though hopefully we will keep the Senate with some addition of our side.
I do wonde,r if what comes out on Thurs. with the supposed last 1/6 hearing, will make a difference. I think we might get more of a sense of that when we find out what the viewership on it is. I also think it sounds like the Loon is really quite scared to the degree that he confessed at his latest rally that he had the documents, and claimed they were his and he wanted them back. It can't get much cleaner and clearer, then the lawbreaker/perpetrator admitting his culpability in such a straightforward way. His lawyers must be wetting themselves.
It is true most of the Trump people are not going to be swayed since they are looking for power and control and don't care much how they get it or how awful they look, but those same two things, not caring, and looking like total idiots could impact those who have one foot on the path leading away. Like many of the Reps. women who are not happy about what some of their men are asking of them, and of course, the Independents. The Loon is not doing all that much, so it is the hard liners hanging on for the most part. People I do think really are tired of having to revisit and re-live everything the Loon saw as an insult to him. I read, if I read long enough that people start walking out early. They seem to be feeling the exhaustion we felt right away with the Loon. Still, I don't want to minimize that it is still a dangerous time for us and really -- who can say how this is going to go. It will be the party that works the longest and hardest and keeps the pressure on till the last second almost.
My hope remains that there are enough people who are only needing to see one or two more things to finally get a total craw full of the Loon and the Reps. They are ruthless. The media is saying how close it will be, and I will wonder and be very nervous, but I have to say I always leave the door of hope open. I'm older and could adjust -- at least I think I could -- to almost anything that happens, but I don't want my children, and their children to live in a world run by Reps. who are for themselves. If we are not for each other, then I can't have any good feeling about turning things over to who comes after me.

I don't pray for what "I" want, cause that might not be the best thing. I pray to be given the best results of any conflict for everyone concerned. However, that is usually what "I" want, lol! So I'm hoping the Universe agrees that Dems keeping the House and Senate is best.

Divine, oh what to say !! You are really hard up to display your meanness when you have to pick on a father whose isn't afraid of showing the weakness of his love for his son. Freely admitting loving and feeling some confusion over just what to do, or how to do it, but loving enough to say please get some help somewhere. Of course, I see that as more manly than all the 'tough' Loons there ever were. I also have deep respect for men who can freely cry over things that hurt them deeply. If you have no range of emotional reactions just who are you.

The Supreme Court on Thursday turned down former President Donald Trump's request to step into the legal fight over documents the FBI seized from his Mar-a-Lago estate.
The former president was seeking an order to return about 100 documents with classification markings to a review process a "special master" is conducting of more than 10,000 documents the FBI took during the Aug. 8 search of Trump's home.
But no member of the court publicly signaled a willingness to grant emergency relief for Trump. The court also offered no explanation or rationale for declining Trump's request, which would have allowed his attorneys the ability to review the most sensitive records the FBI obtained during their ongoing probe.

I really don't mind but hope they don't wait too long before getting their tickets to Russia. After all, we don't know how long their hero Putin will be running the counrty they apparently respect more than they do this one.
