So true, and on the one hand I wish they would all go back under their rocks, but thanks to four yrs. of pure Hell before Pres. Biden, we can see them and identify them much easier now. Less guess work until we are able to drive them so far under this time, they will never get back.

I was mesmerized this afternoon for the last 1/6 hearing. While much (as all the others actually were) had a really familiar ring I did get surprised by hearing that they (the committee) have a much more detailed picture with way more than enough vetted information to refer Trump to DOJ for prosecution. I do think likely Trump has been on the way there for some time anyway since he has been on the DOJ radar for a long time now. Also, with Georgia and New York coming on too. Some things gave me a bit of a chill -- like the reference to commie vermin.
I was taken over once again with a feeling of deep gratitude for Nancy Pelosi who worked hard to hold the day together, get help, and reestablish the confirmation vote count to certify Pres Biden. So fortunate such experience and dedication was so strongly in place when we needed it most. Hats off to her and all the police officers from that day.

I watched part of the 1/6 hearings and found the interior films never shown before to be disturbing and frightening. Nancy Pelosi and Adam Schiff did their jobs and she was the picture of calm, resolute direction in seeking assistance so the election results could be certified.
He thinks as long as he keeps saying "no" that the problems he has generated will just disappear or that we will lose interest in pursuing him. I missed the commie vermin part but do not regard myself or any other person seeking to preserve the Constitution and democracy as a whole, commie vermin. John Dalberg-Acton wrote "Power tends to corrupt, and absolute power corrupts absolutely. Great men are almost always bad men…" I would say I agree except for the reference to "great men" because I do not regard him as "great". He needs to be sttripped of any possible return to the WH, jailed for insurrection, fraud and other evil deeds he has perpetrated on the US. Evil incarnate personified.

exbrnxgrl, thanks for confirming the meme I shared is accurate!
I admire those of you who can watch the Jan 6 hearings. I get so emotional seeing and hearing how all that went down basically at the hands of Trump’s blessing and yet still people/politicians defend this violence. These same people were infuriated when Colin Kapernick peacfullytook a knee during the National Anthem at an NFL game. It makes no sense.

We came here because the earth is abundant and alive--a rich,
rich field of lessons for us to learn. The lessons are not comfortable,
because if we weren't challenged, it would mean that we didn't need
to learn these lessons of the soul: courage, patience, faith, learning
to love, embracing eternal life, and the most magical lesson of all:
It's not what I do, it's knowing I am. We are here to learn about love,
to let others love us, to discover that love is a living force--real,
broad, encompassing. I have also learned that universal love is there
for me, and will be there for me, if I'm open to it and believe in it.

None of it makes any sense. The Trump Republicans could form a band and call it 'Evil Incarnite & the Douchbags'.

It is all sort of hilarious Ruth on the one hand, and on the other sort of sad. Hard to watch a party falling to such lows. Is it really that they have become so very much more honest in a lot of cases. I'm sure there are some who have avoided the wild nosedive of so many, but it is hard to tell them apart often.
Leads me into wondering just what is going on with the upcoming election. I read a piece earlier that talked about Ron Johnson actually polling 6 pts. above Mandella Barnes but Johnson drew a lot of laughter for his whining about SS and FBI. It also came up again that he thought the 1/6 rioters were just patriots who would never break the law (this is where a lot of laughter came in). So what were they really doing to those police officers or was that a fake set-up.
I wonder what kind of polls are being used and whether over-eager media is just looking at things to hold the interest of readers or cable news watchers. Still it does sound like it is/could be close in most of the races. I think election day is going to be a nail biter for sure.

Agree on the nail biter. I see our local media says DuhSantis polls have him winning. Other say Crist and Val Demnings are ahead. I won’t have any nails left.

Showtime is running a documentary on The Lincoln Project. So far they’ve dropped two episodes (every Friday). It’s been quite interesting, how the group got together, the process for making their ads, etc. They really got undear Trumps thin skin during the 2012 election

As of page 1569 on this thread, I'm still getting everyone's memes except Jackie's. Maybe the format she's posting is incompatible with Safari (my preferred browser)?

Well, Jackie's memes started coming through around the middle of page 1574, so maybe it was the format, coupled with the fact that I read this forum on a 2017 Macbook Pro running the latest versions of Safari and OS. (I don't like reading the Web on my phone).

Today is the ACS Making Strides walk in Denver! My team is representing Stand Tall - an aesthetic flat closure advocacy group. Out and proud flatties and unis! While breastless women went topless in plenty of other walks, Denver will be overcast and in the low 50's. I don't think we'll be going topless today. 🥶
Other than the temps, it should be fun. They've got a whole festival going on for it too!

When you make the decision to look at. . . your own life and the way you think about it, you do something courageous. You dare to be yourself. It may be terrifying to search inward, particularly when it's so easy to look over someone else's shoulder. After all, when you peer inside, it's hard to know if you've made the correct choice. What if the answers are wrong? What if you don't know enough? But even if someone else's answers are right, they may not be right for you. Making the distinction may not always be easy, but once you see the benefits, you'll develop more faith in what's inside your own heart. -Leslie Levine

Loved all the memes, but the last one with Dan Rather really got me. Half the family came in to see what I was laughing a bit hysterically about. I'm hoping all that laughter will keep me sane. Still find such annoyance that the Loon is so much a part of everyday life. So naive to believe losing an election would all but erase him. So, every day is an exercise in patience and hoping that it is worth it in the end. I hope he is degraded to the point of being tossed in a cell and forgotten. I still sort of think that while it would feel good to see him actually behind bars, that you could do almost as much damage to him just removing all his ill-gotten riches -- mainly on paper, but at this point he can still claim it while living high. If you finish him monetarily then he would be done. Not something he could abide. I so desire to hear the end of him and know it really is THE END.
