glennie19: My one brother converted to Jehovah Witnesses and invested time in trying to convert his siblings who were decidedly not interested. He told me one day that Heaven was reserved for Jehovah's and since I was not one, I would end up in hell. I told him I would welcome hell, because to me being in Heaven with all those Jehovah's to me would be living hell. He did not see the humor and finally gave up on trying to convert me. I hope I did not offend anyone but if Heaven is going to be full of "the bad evangelicals and Jehovah's", I 'd still rather go to hell. All my friends will be there as well.

I worked with a "born again" who gave lip service to Jesus and was a thief. Things that went missing in the department were discovered in her desk drawers. I am sure she was not the norm, but it gave me pause.

Franklin Graham makes me cringe. He does not reflect his father's teachings.

As far as the DEA stash, that was a good laugh and I am sure DT gave them access. I would need to be on drugs to fin into that dysfunctional family. Feel sorry for Tiffany because she is treated like an afterthought. DT never made the disparaging remarks about her that he has made about Ivanka. So it will always be Ivanka first.

Ohmygoodness, Ruth, your comments to your brother had me actually howling out loud! I so agree with your philosophy on the matter!

And speaking of Evangelical Christian behavior: Falwell Jr and his wife! I mean, what scumbags. He got away with so much during his rein at Liberty University because, according to Politico: he was a big reason for Liberty's recovery. After decades of crippling debt, it now has endowment assets of $1.6 billion — up from $6.3 million when he took over in 2007. (!)

So the mf-ers sucked up to him because of money. NOT because of Christ. Falwell leaves with a severance of over 10 million.

And Falwell Jr is credited for the rise of Trump. It's all horrific when you put two and two together. Sadly, Trumps fan base can't add. Disgusting,

    Ruth,

Kimberly Guilfoyle was a totally different person back in her California days. I find it hard to believe that what we see now is the same woman. No one could have predicted this metamorphosis

I am VERY surprised as well that Tiffany Trump spoke at the convention. I think ( ? Divine maybe ) mentioned that she may have felt pressured to do it because Trump is not in good health and she is due ( hopefully it will happen ) an inheritance. Not sure now why I thought it, but I did think for a long time that Marla Maples, Tiffany's mother, was the one who discouraged her from having too much to do with the rest of the family. Not total exclusion but not joining in the business end of what was going on.

If that were so, I'd say it was a wise decision. She may be the only Trump who does not end up possibly in jail when some of the dust settles. When you read the book just written by Trump's niece it is easy to think there may have been pressure for Tiffany to be a PART of the Trumps. During the almost four full yrs. Trump has been around I think I only recall two or three pictures of her being seen in the family group.

I don't know is I could kiss up to the likes of a Trump for an inheritance. Only the other hand -- and I think this may have been brought us as well -- since Trump and family are likely it seems to be indicted by SDNY it is possible that when fines are levied, penalties, and other paybacks for abuses to the government -- there will likely be nothing much for anyone to fight over and should they want too -- most of the Trumps could be 'fighting' from a jail cell. Frankly, it would serve them oh so right.

Regarding the CDC directing businesses "not to argue with customers who refuse to wear masks,” I wish businesses could make people follow the rules but they really have no power. Also I hate that a poorly paid clerk or manager is supposed to stand up to crazy people who just won’t follow the mandate. Some store employees have been badly hurt or worse, and I doubt they signed up for that. I wish I knew what the solution is.

We may be watching one of our stand-by's -- HGTV. Due to a number of factors we didn't see all that much of it this past year so a lot of the programs are new to us. It is easy to watch. I did see a Rose Garden ( no roses ) full of people, elbow to elbow. I did not see masks. Good Luck to all those people not that I much care if they do end up getting sick. What I don't like is that they will infect other people before anyone knows that the infection is on its way. Well, maybe they had them line up and get a quick test. Not sure with that crowd I'd want to trust that quick test completely.

Anyway -- just what Trump loves -- an adoring audience. Maybe part of the draw was doing it at the WH where more people might be 'thrilled' enough to show up. Somehow ( I could be wrong ) I can't believe too many extra people will watch tonight. It will be more of the blathering lies and idiocy. Maybe he'll still go for Biden causing so much upheaval. Says someone who is the last person in the world who could create calm and peace. He ( Trump ) has no idea what it sounds like to say stupid things like that. If he really could hear what he is actually saying he would stop himself dead in his tracks. Maybe we are lucky he is so far gone. Trill, you and many others are doing the right thing. I think so far the RNC has struck out. I read on the way here -- the DNC still has the best numbers. Hopefully we will do a wipe-out tonight.

    Andy Griffith was over....

Donald Trump lovers were yik-yakking at the RNC....

    And Donald was coming up....

What to do? What to do?

    Oh--OK!!! I'll bake bread!

    So I made some bread.

But while I kneaded it, I kept saying over and over

"I may disagree with what you say, but I will fight to the death your right to say it."

    Twenty times. No more.

Otherwise I would have over-kneaded the dough.

Meanwhile, in the bathroom, Miss Pantaloon had found my laundry basket and dug out a few things.

"Just wanted to show what I think of Donald Trump," she said, kneading away."I'm pretending your dirty underwear is his face."

If it were not for recaps I would actually be a little tempted ( I'd be looking for going off script although there may have been dire warnings ) to watch what Trump had to say. Not so much the prepared stuff -- but the other I'm the smartest man in the world stuff that comes out when Trump can't stand that someone else put ideas in his mouth. After all Trump always knows best. You'd have thought he had no one in jail now instead of the 6 or 7 he has and more on the way including him.

Oh well -- recaps will do.

If my dog park is any indication of his ratings, hehehehe

Last night there was about 3 people there, 4-5 dogs. Tonight, the place was packed. Maybe 20 people. Lots of dogs. We’ll see if this translates to his tv ratings.

I just turned the channel now that he's done talking. All I can say is that the tax payers (ie us) better not be paying for all those damn fireworks!!!

*the commentator on ABC News just said it was the longest and lowest energy acceptance speech he had ever heard.
