I think the hidden conservative thread ceased to be active long ago. I hope they hide this thread before someone comes along ready for a debate (or a verbal joust).

I’m sure the mods will get around to hiding this thread. Right now their priority is with the relaunch. I don’t worry about conservatives finding us. They are shut down pretty quickly once they realize this thread is for liberal comments only (a wonderful idea and lucky us!). Republican-leaning members are more than welcome to revive their old thread or start a new one; however, if I recall, they moved to a Facebook group so they could have more freedom in their comments.
I’m learning to navigate the new platform. One thing I immediately like is that there are now 30 comments per page, up from the 10 it had been reduced to (which I loathed). It just lends itself better to following a train of thought and imo, and makes discussions more seamless. I also noticed immediate upload with the meme I posted. I’m still figuring out where stuff is, but a learning curve is to be expected.0 -
Divine, sure hope you are right. Maybe I wsill be able to get by better after the whole thing is launched. So far I haven't seen but partial pages when I get notice hrough regular e-mail that someone has posted.
I am however hoping we get the rest soon so I can try and LEARN how to do what I like and have always done with perhaps learning some of the features. Some of those did not work well for me before ( such as the little tool bar on top of the posting area) so I seldom used it. I might be able to now. Time will tell. Hoping it is not soon for the thing to be completely turned on because right now I'm still struggling.🤔

It is still hidden from active topics (confirmed by us in both the active topics list and on the thread details themselves), but IS visible in forum view. Meaning, if a member chooses to scroll through this forum, the title of this forum is visible. That has always been the case - 'hiding' a thread only keeps it from active topics.

I just watched the five minute tutorial on the new format. One thing it pointed out is there’s a flag icon at the bottom of posts that can be clicked on to notify the Mods if you have a problem with the contents of that post.

Going to be a LONG few days while I see if I can navigate and get around here. So far, I wasn't even sure it was NOW up and running and mis-interpreted the welcome we are open message. In part, I think because everything that happens shows up in my e-mail. Never-the-less, I'm going to give it a try, but I do admit I'm a bit nervous about the whole project. I also have to admit that I'm not impressed. I thought we would have more color — and less white. Well, I'll quit complaining and try to find a happy place. Have several things to get done today and having to come and try to learn all the tricks of usage in between is a sticky way to have to work. 📬️

I took an updated selfie and just tried adding it as an avatar photo. And tried adding a few capital letters to my screen name so it says DivineMrsM. It doesn’t appear to have saved. The picture shows here, but it doesn’t show up on the forum.

This thread was removed from active topics quite a few years ago. Unfortunately, some folks were unable to keep discussions civil, and as far as I could tell they were very right leaning conservatives. The mods took both this thread as well as the one for conservative politics (name of the thread escapes me but I think it’s inactive) , hid them from active topics and requested we not cross post or both threads would be removed. So leaving this thread in active topics could potentially hurt all of us who post here if the thread was public as it would just be shut down. I wish we could have civil discussions with those who disagreed with the POV most often expressed here but that proved impossible in the past.

I am seeing adds for DeSantis for president in the Philadelphia area but was unaware he had announced he was running. Did I miss the formal announcement? I am sorry but he is so far right he could be Hitler's disciple. I wish FL would just keep him to themselves but definitely feel that would be punishing the anti-DS people that happen to reside there. Wish DT and he would just duke it out and quit politics altogether since neither speak to or for me.

Joe Manchin is in for the run of his political life this year. The governor of WV, Jim Justice, announced he’s running for Senate. He is a billionaire and West Virginias love him. Justice originally ran as a Democrat in 2016 and switched political parties to Republican in 2017. He’s buddies with Trump and Mitch McConnell. I will only be surprised if he doesn’t win. WV is pretty solidly Republican these days. Speaking of days, I believe Manchin’s days in the Senate are numbered.

That is interesting about Manchin and Justice. I've so often imagined myself wailing on Machin who seemed to be trying to one-up Simena while she did the same with him. There is an amazing number of people who could lose their seats (mainly on the rt.) that be an absolute thrill. We may get Justice just like you say. Might as well since it already seemed we had a Reps. in that seat for such a long time now anyway.
Machin can go on his house yacht and catch fish or something. He needs to do something useful.

Imo, the media is hyping Deathsantis for ratings. They are trying to make him in to Trump 2.0. They want to see if they can create the same or similar dynamic they had with Trump, where everything is controversial, everyone is up in arms all the time, with lots of back and forth vitriol. They are looking for big boosts in ratings. That is all they are after, to control the political narrative of our nation for big profit. I am disgusted by it. But that’s how I see it.
I read Fox ratings have skidded downhill since Carlson’s firing. But for how long. Now Carlson is getting hit with misogyny and sexism accusations, oh wow, no surprise there, so I hope it really takes him down all the way like it has for numerous other powerful men in recent history.
