Hi friends,
When I look at bookmarks, it says the latest post was on 4/23 despite the fact that there have been many posts well after that. The name of the member changes to reflect that last post but the date remains unchanged and the thread title doesn’t appear in bold face as it does when there are unread posts. The mods have told me that the date looks accurate on their end. If the date is not accurate on your end and you have a minute or two, could you please let the mods know that you’re experiencing this as well? I apologize in advance for asking and it’s not the worst thing.

Caryn, my bookmark also shows the 4/23 date for this thread. I took a screenshot of it a few minutes ago on my iPad to show you here, with an arrow to show today’s date and circling the incorrect “most recent” date shown for this thread. Will let the mods know.
My issue is that I am not given any option to remain signed in on this forum. I must log in every single time. I’ve filled out the “community feedback” form to report it as instructed by the Mods. i was never able to remain signed in with the last platform and had to sign in every time I visited the site and still have the same problem with the new platform.

Camille,
I’m on an iPad too and that is exactly what I see. The mods told me that they are seeing the correct date on their end. Do you mind if I send your screenshot to them?

We figured out why it is showing that way, @exbrnxgrl. It's because we hid that post from active topics as of that day, so it is actually working as expected.

Thanks. So are you saying that the last post date will never be accurate and that the thread title will not appear in bold if there are unread posts? Although not a major glitch, that was not an issue prior to this upgrade.

I see what you mean. It's not intuitive for sure. We'll check in with the tech team about it to see what they can do about it. @exbrnxgrl

Love the memes especially the one on Josh "Haul ass" Hawley who is running away from those he now supports as defenders? Nowhere in the Constitution does it state that we should defend Insurrectionists. So defender of the Constitution he is not but then he is surrounded by those who believe the Constitution should be manipulated to defend their dangerous thoughts and conspiracies.

When we plant a rose seed in the earth, we notice it is small, but
we do not criticize it as "rootless and stemless." We treat it as a
seed, giving it the water and nourishment required of a seed. When
it first shoots up out of the earth, we don't condemn it as immature
and underdeveloped, nor do we criticize the buds for not being open
when they appear. We stand in wonder at the process taking place,
and give the plant the care it needs at each stage of its development.
The rose is a rose from the time it is a seed to the time it dies.
Within it, at all times, it contains its whole potential. It seems to be
constantly in the process of change: Yet at each state, at each
moment, it is perfectly all right as it is. A flower is not better when
it blooms than when it is merely a bud; at each stage it is the same
thing--a flower in the process of expressing its potential.

Well, for obvious reasons these are people I would not even consider. I sort of yearn for the day when you actually did have to REALLY make a choice between Democrat and Reps. For me, it has been pretty much straight Democratic ticket for a number of years. I remember thinking on John McCain's first run for President that I wanted to explore him a lot more.
Now the Reps. and their candidates have become over time just too extreme to even consider. I don't think any of the others (if not the Loon or DeSane) like Haley or Christie are only better in the sense that they at least can sound rational proposing ideas we on the left still would not want. Not sure what it is in these nearly mindless individuals that is seen as non-menacing by the Reps. I think there are still many Reps who secretly hope he fails. It is just a mystery to me why they don't all just stand up and say get the H out. Their silence is giving him a choice and he is able to stay front and center. In truth, there are far too many Reps. who do not want him.
How great if they all stood up at the same time and said NO. But then it is not what extremists have about themselves that is reasoned. Saying no is not in their vocabulary.

Conservatives Are Destroying Our Future

· Republicans nationwide are now pushing to repeal no-fault divorce laws, which allow women to walk away from an unhappy marriage without having to prove abuse, infidelity, or other misconduct in court. The Texas GOP just added it to their platform. This is your warning.

BREAKING: It’s OFFICIAL! Congressman Colin Allred, former lineman for the Tennessee Titans, has announced he’ll challenge Ted Cruz for Senate! There is one BIG reason Colin Allred is going to win: For Allred, this race is personal. Colin Allred was one of the House members stuck in the Capitol on January 6 as the violent mob descended. Not knowing if he’d make it out alive, he sent a text to his wife: “Whatever happens, I love
you." Later, he laid blamed on Ted Cruz for participating in an attempt to deny the election. Allred called the events of January 6 part of “a broader authoritarian movement across the world,” and vowed to protect democracy. Now he’s running for Senate. Before Congress Allred played football in the NFL. He then earned his law degree before working for the Obama Administration. Allred is no stranger to tough races. For a Democrat to win in the suburbs of Dallas is more than impressive. His shocking victory over popular Republican Pete Sessions shows he has what it takes to win. I think one thing is safe to say:Ted Cruz is f*cked.

MAJOR BREAKING! A racist text message discovered by Fox News was a major reason Tucker Carlson was FIRED. Details:In a text message sent to one of his producers after the January 6 Capitol attack Carlson referenced a video that showed Trump supporters violently attack a young man. “Jumping a guy like that is dishonorable obviously,” he wrote. “It’s not how white men fight.”“For years, Mr. Carlson espoused views on his show that amplified the ideology of white nationalism. But the text message revealed more about his views on racial superiority,” The New York Times notes. The text set off alarm bells for the Fox board, which saw the message only a day before Fox was set to face Dominion Voting Systems in court.Based on a totality of the circumstances, the Fox Board determined Tucker Carlson was a bigger liability than he was worth at the network. HERE IS THE FULL TEXT MESSAGE:“A couple of weeks ago, I was watching video of people fighting on the street in Washington. A group of Trump guys surrounded an Antifa kid and started pounding the living shit out of him. It was three against one, at least. Jumping a guy like that is dishonorable obviously. It’s not how white men fight. Yet suddenly I found myself rooting for the mob against the man, hoping they’d hit him harder, kill him. I really wanted them to hurt the kid. I could taste it. Then somewhere deep in my brain, an alarm went off: this isn’t good for me. I’m becoming something I don’t want to be. The Antifa creep is a human being. Much as I despise what he says and does, much as I’m sure I’d hate him personally if I knew him, I shouldn’t gloat over his suffering. I should be bothered by it. I should remember that somewhere somebody probably loves this kid, and would be crushed if he was killed. If I don’t care about those things, if I reduce people to their politics, how am I better than he is?”We ALWAYS new Tucker Carlson was a white supremacist. Now there’s proof. Is anyone else NOT surprised?

Love the meme, Ruth. I can't imagine meeting these two dunderheads anywhere. In fact, they are I'm sure near the top of people on the list of people I hope never to run into. I'm glad there is almost no way for that to happen. Anyone who dazzles themselves with their own brilliance is not anyone I want to spend even a minute with.

Turned on the TV only to find there has been another shooting — at a medical center in Atlanta. Rev. Rafael Warnock was giving a speech on the floor about it.
He says, and I could not agree more, that there is no place left where you can feel safe. He is right. I'm so tired of all of it. If this keeps up will all guns have to be confiscated. What is going to get through so the proper laws can be established and put into good effect. How many wild west tragedies have to place because if we keep going ………………..

I honestly believe that until gun tragedy personally affects a prominent Repugnican's family, there will never be a change of their hard hearts. It seems "from my cold, dead hands, the 2nd Amendment is vindicated" is their motto as stated by the then NRA president Charlton Heston.

Each day is a time of great possibilities. Many experiences are before me that will inspire me on my upward path of growth and discovery. Knowing this, I greet each day with enthusiasm. An enthusiastic attitude is an energizing one. When I am enthusiastic, I tap into an inner wellspring of energy that promotes change in my body and in my life. The positive power that is generated by enthusiasm improves my circulation and helps restore health to my body. It stirs up joy within me and calls it forth into expression. Enthusiasm for life brings out the beauty that I was once unable to see. - unattributed
