Yes, how did we really get to where we have patriots being young radical people with guns. He was taught and coached apparently by his mother per a couple of the articles I have read. His dad I think as well. That makes it easier for me to understand, but it is no less upsetting to me that parents would do this to a child. It is not that I consider him that much of a child now -- but they didn't start a yr. ago. I think to behave as he did took a lot of yrs. of training. He is likely a very ruined person, but then he is not the only one -- he is just one of the younger ones that we know about and he has displayed what he is fairly early.

I have no words for the Evangelicals who cheer for Trump. I do think it is possible for them to NOT get the power they are willing to sacrifice themselves for by following Trump. He is no more for them then for anyone, but it is enough for them right now that he holds up a Bible. They will earn their downfall and I won't be feeling sorry for them when they do.

Good one, Sandy! I am the daughter of parents who were huge Broadway musical fans. My last musical obsession prior to Hamilton was Wicked. So I’ve traded defying gravity for an orphan, bastard, son of a whore and a Scotsman dropped in the middle of a forgotten spot in the Caribbean..

Trump always shows up where he doesn't belong and is not wanted. Mainly because he is Trump and he VERY sure it is the thing to do. He has people around him who sit and dream up what he NEEDS to do to create CERTAIN effect or MAKE a certain statement. One that many may not be sure of but others will feel all the way to the bones and beyond.

It is about how the news is seen and what someone decides to present as their interpretation. During the day I did not get the impression that either candidate had moved all that much even though I understood Trump was not as well off as Biden. Then I come here and read this which actually sounds more like it -- but that is due to all the people as of late that I've heard or seen edging away from Trump.

I likely read this somewhere before some time back and forgot it. I'm disgusted all over again. So often Rod Rosenstein seemed like he was going by the book but then toward the end things got weird. I recall there was even pretty tough talk that he was maybe about to get the ax -- at one point he even rushed over to the WH and I think everyone was holding their breath. A lot of surprise that he walked away un-scathed -- but this little piece sort of clears that up.

Mr. Law and Order is creating violence so he can then ride in on his white horse ( sending federal troops ) and say that he cleaned it up. No, other people will get arrested while Trump tell his trouble makers to go home. He is such a nasty creep.

When I hear things like this I start to worry -- but I'm not sure that even though he was right about Trump the first time out -- that it would come true this time. I think there are people who are good at putting two an two together and coming up with their best guess. I think that is what Moore did the first time in 2016. Things are a whole lot different this time out. About 2/3rds of the people in the U.S. are disgusted by Trump and sooo many people seem to indicate that they will NOT vote for him again.

I do believe we have to stay worried and concerned. What happened last time was too much Russian interference on the end along with Comey messing up at the last minute. While we have Russia again -- I do think we have a Comey waiting in the wings. News media still too often goes the wrong way and while they may present the facts -- some times the slant is off and then we have bad numbers one day, better the next then downhill again -- it sells much better if you are on the edge of your chair. All to say I probably won't listen quite as much to M. Moore as I might have because I think he is, like a lot of us, guessing as much as anything.

    A Dictator on Downers

    Posted: 29 Aug 2020 08:33 PM PDT

Lucian K. Truscott IV: Were you watching the last night of the Republican National Convention on Thursday night? It looked like a Nuremberg rally on Nembutal. Whatever they gave him before he took the stage overlooking the back lawn of the White House, they managed to get max-automaton out of him. Holding onto the podium like he was on the deck of a pitching ship at sea, Trump droned through 70 minutes of his acceptance speech like a seventh-grader giving a book report on "Great Expectations" in English class.image

Maybe why his numbers are not getting much better. He can't do this reading things well at all. But then, if you think about the fact, that it is money, fame and power that drives him and not being 'president' then it is easy to see why he has little enthusiasm going into 2020. He probably doesn't even think he needs to ACT more caring and concerned. After all, his cadre of buffoons' and bootlickers are going to push him over -- aren't they ??

    Poll: Trump's Favorability Stagnate Post-Convention

    Joe Biden

The deadly violence we saw overnight in Portland is unacceptable. Shooting in the streets of a great American city is unacceptable. I condemn this violence unequivocally. I condemn violence of every kind by anyone, whether on the left or the right. And I challenge Donald Trump to do the same. It does not matter if you find the political views of your opponents abhorrent, any loss of life is a tragedy. Today there is another family grieving in America, and Jill and I offer our deepest condolences.

We must not become a country at war with ourselves. A country that accepts the killing of fellow Americans who do not agree with you. A country that vows vengeance toward one another. But that is the America that President Trump wants us to be, the America he believes we are.

As a country, we must condemn the incitement of hate and resentment that led to this deadly clash. It is not a peaceful protest when you go out spoiling for a fight. What does President Trump think will happen when he continues to insist on fanning the flames of hate and division in our society and using the politics of fear to whip up his supporters? He is recklessly encouraging violence. He may believe tweeting about law and order makes him strong – but his failure to call on his supporters to stop seeking conflict shows just how weak he is. He may think that war in our streets is good for his reelection chances, but that is not presidential leadership – or even basic human compassion.

The job of a President is to lower the temperature. To bring people who disagree with one another together. To make life better for all Americans, not just those who agree with us, support us, or vote for us.

Donald Trump has been president for almost four years. The temperature in the country is higher, tensions run stronger, divisions run deeper. And all of us are less safe because Donald Trump can't do the job of the American president.

Hear, Hear. This is the kinds of things Biden needs to keep saying. He needs the picture good and strong in everyone that he wants peace for everyone -- not chaos and destruction. Thank goodness we are hearing as well as EASILY seeing the difference in who can lead and who is lost. I do hope the message will keep going out that Trump is a loser who is lost and doesn't know how to bring people together -- he only knows division and then rushing in for the spoils.

Keep up the good work Joe. I so desperately want to be able to put President in front of your name for at least the next four years.
