So the Loon doesn't know or believe what is in the Constitution and now his supposed Christian followers are saying what Jesus says in the Bible is weak? So what are their beliefs now? Self-rule or hanging on the coattails of the Loon? Sad state to be in: nihilism.

Boulder launched ranked-choice voting for its Mayoral race this month. I would love to see this for the nation. It would help reduce "lesser of two evils" voting and make third party candidates less likely to split votes.

Be the first to forgive, to smile and take the first step, and you will see happiness bloom. Be always the first. Do not wait for others to forgive, for by forgiving, you become the master of fate, the fashioner of life, the doer of miracles. To forgive is the highest, most beautiful form of love. In return you will receive untold peace and happiness.   -Robert Muller

Ruth, once again. Love that meme. Too bad they never paid attention to what they were doing since breaking the law isn't good for any business. Even worse i you have to testify and find some way to minimize your actions inside your own organization.

Loon is also using the fact that Ivanka is NOT a defendant to allude to their not being any case at all. I read an article a few days ago where it mentioned how the Loon and all his foibles and commentary have become terribly boring. I could not agree more. He may use a different re4ference point (like his daughter) but it always means that he is prefect, doesn't make mistakes and things are manufactured against him. Especially since he is running for a second term now.

In large part the whole Reps. party as well as their Loon have all become boring in many cases — because they just keep stepping up to the edge and then walking off it.

Democratic West Virginia Sen. Joe Manchin is retiring, giving GOP a key pickup opportunity in 2024

CHARLESTON, W.Va. (AP) — Democratic Sen. Joe Manchin of West Virginia announced Thursday that he won’t seek reelection in 2024, giving Republicans a prime opportunity to pick up a seat in the heavily GOP state.

Manchin, 76, said in a statement that he had made the decision “after months of deliberation and long conversations” with his family.

“I believe in my heart of hearts that I have accomplished what I set out to do for West Virginia,” he said. “I have made one of the toughest decisions of my life and decided that I will not be running for re-election to the United States Senate, but what I will be doing is traveling the country and speaking out to see if there is an interest in creating a movement to mobilize the middle and bring Americans together.”

His decision to retire severely hampers Democratic hopes of holding on to the coal country seat and marks the end of an era for West Virginia, which voted reliably blue for decades before flipping red and becoming one of former President Donald Trump’s most loyal states. For the last few years, Manchin has been the only Democrat elected to statewide office in West Virginia, a longtime politician who has served as governor, secretary of state and state legislator.

Republican challengers began clamoring for the Senate seat long before Manchin’s announcement, with GOP Rep. Alex Mooney jumping in the race less than two weeks after winning his fifth term in the House in November 2022. Two-term Republican Gov. Jim Justice joined the Senate race earlier this year and was endorsed by Trump, who easily won the state both previous times he ran for the White House.

Already, 2024 was shaping up to be a tough election cycle for Senate Democrats. The party will be forced to defend 23 seats, including three held by independents, compared to just 10 seats for Republicans. Manchin is one of just three Democratic senators up for reelection in 2024 who represent a state won by Trump, a Republican, in the 2020 election.

In recent months, Manchin teased possible retirement, a run for reelection to the Senate or even a presidential campaign in 2024 — possibly as an independent candidate. Alluding to potential national aspirations for Manchin, Republican Sen. Dan Sullivan told reporters moments after the announcement that Manchin’s message sounded like someone who would be running for higher office.

Manchin, a conservative Democrat, was both a critical vote and a constant headache for his party in the first two years of President Joe Biden’s term. When the Senate was split 50-50 and Democrats controlled it by virtue of Vice President Kamala Harris’ tiebreaking vote, Manchin leveraged his political power to shape legislation to his liking.

Yikes about Machin (although I wish more 76 year old politicians would retire.....no matter what I think of their politics). If there can't be campaign reform, then I think there should be term limits.

    Here's something just for fun:

Great - Manchin and Joe Lieberman can wreak havoc for the Dems in 2024. I figured Manchin would lobby for the coal industry, since it’s a job he’s been doing already.

I sort of say thank God Manchin is going, while feeling VERY edgy about just who will get that seat afterwards. It really seems only a short time ago when Manchin and Sinema seemed intent on outdoing each other to upset Democrats. I do think though she will be gone this time around as well. She seemed actually worse than Manchin.

I so dislike that one person can end up with so much control — just like A-hole Tuberville. Even if we get a rotten Rep. at least we won't wonder which way they will go. I do think the statement about Manchin traveling the country likely means he looking to get into some other government position.
