    Hi chickies,

Hope you are having a great day.

Yippee, Allison, sooooo happy to hear your wonderfilled news today.I guess it is time to think about packing de bus and Beanie is here to help me, yipppeeeee!

Karen, Kymn, Bernie, thinking about you girls.

Lori, sorry I missed you this am, had to pull a tele# out of contacts and was late getting out for another appointment.

I haven't much time, have to get showered and ready to go to the voice of my classmate tonight. Keep praying for Jim and his three DD's. Their youngest is a fresham - or as Chrissy and Bernie would say. grade (is this the right word) . 13. I am so sad for them. Don't pray for me, please pray for Jim, family and close friends, they need it most.

I got me stitches out today and the big reveal will happen soon. I have not been able to see because I can't twist my arm (it can be twisted to dwink only hehe). Anyway, I will use a mirror. The doc is pleased, starting PT on Thursday.

Had a terrible night sleeping last night, perhaps the worst of the century. Damn med + caffeine made for nightmares and a bit of hallucinating, no crap, have not felt like talking about it, it was horrific.

Gotta fly, my sister just got her to help in the house.  Love you girls. Dwink up!

Another Wednesday snow storm for Denver...south of here they are calling for a blizzard...it hasn't started snowing yet...Denver is predicted to get 5 to 10 inches...sure hope it doesn't materialize and doesn't mess up DH flight tomorrow.....

Stomach is still bothering me today but different than yesterday.....spending to much time in the bathroom....bloated!!!  But atleast no sinus headache today....Stayed up much later last night than I wanted to....had planned to go to bed after the news (its on at 10 here) but DD#2 was trying to finish up a project for school and it just didn't feel right to go to bed while she was still up...about 12:15 she said she was going to get a little sleep and went to bed.....she got up early this morning to finish it...I thought it was 5 or 5:30 but she told me this afternoon it was 3:30...the project was due today and the annotated bibliography took her longer than she thought it was...it was a project on To Kill a Mockingbird....she is one determined student...and a perfectionist....

I sent another email to Mom's counselor and she agreed that Mom is in denial and said she is working with Mom to be proactive and not wait till its a crisis...counselor is going to send me some additional info....Now just trying to figure out the best time to go again....I want to see my kids in Toronto on my winter break....and its cheaper to do the three way trip...Denver-Florida-Toronto than two- round trips....so thinking of going December 18 - 25th.  I'm sure thats a busy time for assisted living facilities...or should I say not a good time to check them out....but I need some time for R and R before I get on a plane again after this week-end....before Thanksgiving is just too soon....but maybe right after....still got a bit of time to think about it.....

DH told me tonight that he thinks he will have enough miles that I could go to Israel again next summer...he is just planting the seed for me!!!!!

I have to tell you what DD#2 said yesterday....she is such an amazing kid...hard to believe that she is only 13 with the things that she says.....I had a coupon for a free plant that I got at the RFTC...she asked if it was only for survivors....and I said yes...one of the benefits of being a survivor.....and DD#2 says....no the benefit of being a survivor is that you survived...meaning that you are alive!!!!  What an amazing kid!!!

Tiedymom....be kind to yourself....you are doing just fine...how old is your kiddo?  you will get through this, but you will have your ups and downs....this journey is hard, but it is doable!!! you will get to the other side....welcome to this wonderful place...the women are awesome...

Beans...thanks for your kind words...so glad to see  you posting again....

ChrissyB....Miriam asked about you the other day.....in the short time you were at my house you made an impression on my family

    DorK...how was the unveiling

    Mrs. Vino...glad to see you....

Juliet62...is this the first time we are meeting?

    Goldie...have a great trip...whats the occasion?

    Bernie...hi there....what's Ireland's country drink....

Kathy...you are so a wonderful friend

    NM...how are things by you

Claire....my niece in Portland is coming to Ohio this week-end...I haven't seen here in 10 years....she is an RN at one of the local hospitals, but I don't know which one...I'll have to ask her what part of town she lives in....

Don't know if cabernet is good for the stomach, but it sure taste good....had a delicious dinner of steelhead trout, homefried potatoes, corn and salad (well no salad for me).....will make spaghetti for DD and me tomorrow....and we are tyring to figure out what we want to take to eat on the plane (or in the airport)..flight is at 7:20pm on Thursday.....

Will probably be back later....wishing everyone a good rest of the day....Sweet dreams...Karen

Karen, Your daughter is SO insightful....I remember she said something neat awhile back, too. So true....being a survivor is the MAIN THING!!! Good for her! I am glad the counselor is trying to work with your mom, that is a big help to you, so you aren't the only one telling her those things. One hint, when you visit assisted living facilities, or nursing homes, if you can stop in unannounced the first time, you can see a better idea of what things are like there. And now they say you may get a lot more snow??? Crazy weather!!!

Just got a forwarded email from a cuz in HI....reminding me to get my mammogram....I am shocked she didn't remember...but I wrote back saying since I had them both removed, I don't get mammograms anymore. Sheesh!!

Anyone joining me for a nightcap???  I love it when, late at night, Pants gets that sleepy-dreamy look in his eyes....*sigh*....

    Slainte!

Kathy....I'm joining you as I finish my glass of wine.....would have more, but need to save the rest of the bottle for tomorrow night.....speak of tomorrow night...hope I don't forget that I need to pack...I may have some time Thursday afternoon, but I don't want to risk it.....

The snow has started....wonder if it will be as bad as they are predicting....some areas are supposed to get up to 2 inches an hour.....the weather forecast will be on shortly....

Think DD crashed on the sofa...need to get her into bed...she only got a couple hours sleep last night....just woke her up to go to bed...she needs to brush her teeth and then I'll tuck her in...can you believe that my 13 year old still wants mom to tuck her in at bed time???!!!  Am I lucky or what!!!

Need to make a list of things I have to do tomorrow after work and Thursday so I don't forget anything!!!!

    Sweet dreams....

Hello my new friends, hope you all has a beautiful day!  Just wanted to let you know that THIS was the one place that I found encouragement yesterday (it was a hard day)!!  Each of you is a blessing and a gift!

Saw the surgeon today: love him!!  We are looking at chemo first then double mastectomy (I'll learn the abbreviations eventually lol) and reconstruction.  Scary, but I'm ok with it.  Scarier (I think is first he's sending me for a biopsy of a lymph node in my armpit that he doesn't like.  Also..Genetic Counseling???

Understand that this is a Happy Place so fell free to send a private meesage with any input or info so as not to clutter the Lounge lol.

For now  - the kids and man are sleeping, chores are done, a few questions have been answered, and I have been blessed with new friends..............and a very large glass of wine!!  Cheers girls!!

I guess there are other groups here with such tight emotional attachment and great positive forces yet this is the only one I can imagine ever being a real part of.  Did I say that right?

Cindy, You sound soooo much better.....sometimes when we know the game plan, then we can focus onthe tx (treatment). And of course, you can come here and get cyber-dwunk whenever you feel like it! On Thursday we are getting on our HTL (Hot Tatties Lounge) bus (what did we name it, girls...the Magic Bus or Party Bus...me foigets), and all heading out to Mrs_Vino (Allison), so we can then get teeny-tiny and be with her for her surgery. That way we keep the doctors in line and make sure they take extra-special care of her. We also drink, and sometimes the teeny-tiny giggles and *hics* can get a wee bit too loud! Sometimes we hide in the pockets, under a blanket, wherever we won't get noticed!!! Stick around, you wil have fun here.

Karen, I don't think the avatar needs to be an online pic, can just come from your saved pictures. Can't believe all the snow! Where are you flying to, on Thursday? I must've missed that, but you mentioned food to eat on the plane(?). Hope I didn't convince you to finish your btl of wine....I do that sometimes....LOL.

    Chairs!

Good morning ladies! Just read last couple of pages, will have to read Halloween pages later, as I have a very busy day! Welcome Cindy! You will love coming to the HTL on a regular basis! Everyone here knows what you're going through, which helps so much! Agree with DorK that this forum and these ladies have been the best for me. DorK, you always say it right! Love you girls! Cindy, PM me anytime. Having surgery tomorrow for TE (tissue expanders) to come out and replaced with implants, and port removal. Hope you get tiny with the girls, hop on the bus, and come with. No snow here in Ky! Still in 60's during day!

Have pre-op appt. this am @ 9:30, then three clients coming to illegal cash only nail salon, will rename it ICONS for short! Then friend coming over to help put down Halloween decor. Sooooo much to do, but if it doesn't get done, I have friends that will help. Have learned in these past seven months that when a friend says "call me if you need anything" I say "you know I won't call you, why don't you call my DH and ask what it is you can do?" or something like that. Am blessed to have friends that just jump in and do it! O.K., time for a shower, then start this busy day! Cheers dears!

Morning Lougettes! Hope all is well, had an awesome massage last night, first one since surgery and it was awesome. Went to a real pro, and treated other BC folks and knew exactly how to help me get comfortable, what to ask, etc. Am going back every 2 weeks. NOTE TO ALL Loungettes!!!!! Remember to take some me time, we all deserve it!

Karen, sounds like progress, so glad you have a third party engaged as you help your family work through this. Hope the snows aren't an issue!

Cindy, totally understand how hard a day you had, it $ucked! Glad you like the surgeon. Being comfortable with these folks helps a lot. Look for another PM from me later today.

Bernie, so happy you are feeling better and resting, Cheers to that!

On behalf of de HTL, I will deliver the biggest, gentlest hug on de DorK this afternoon, promise Kath!

    Goldie, safe travels this weekend!

As for Mrs_Vino, woo hoo, is KY ready for de Party Bus?! Will be ready to roll and party all day! So happy for you! Will be ready for some scrabble while you recuperate, better shot at winning if you are on drugs, lol!

Gotta jet, PT this am. Sorry if I'm missing someone, probably am from a page back,

Thanks Scuby! Glad you got your massage! Have a few minutes before Dr. Appt., so wanted to share something funny with you girls. Every time I go to my oncologist, the first thing they do is weigh me. In past four months, have watched it creep up by 20lbs., and of course they say watch what you eat and exercise, at the same time filling me with drugs that make you want to eat your hand off and cause so much pain u can hardly get off the couch. So this past Monday, when I went in, nurse said "OK, hop on the scale". In turn, I replied "no" and sat down in the chair. She looks at me all puzzled and says "but we have to get your weight first!" so I said, and oh y'all will LOVE this, "I'm sorry, but this is Louisville Oncology, not weight watchers. You tell Dr. Seeger that the day I walk out of here with a diet pill or some real way to loose this weight, that's the day I'll hop back on that scale. Now take my blood pressure so I can go get my blood drawn." oh, if y'all could have been flies on the wall!! Lol, it was great! Ok, gotta go, cheers!

DorK, you said the "S" word again, and I don't mean snow. For shame, for shame (shaking my finger at you). Of course we pray for you, you know God doesn't limit us on our prayers. I will be cloning myself on Thursday, one of me will be heading west, the other east! I imagine there are tons of tight groups on these threads. I mean, there is pretty much a group every month created for gals starting chemo that month, not to mention the many many thousands of other threads. But I wouldn't change a thang!

Karen, you must be so proud of your DD for her dedication to her school work, my gosh, getting herself out of bed at 3:30! So glad your mom's counselor is working with you.  We have an online business selling drip irrigation for gardens and the IA (irrigation association) is having a show on Sunday. My step daughter, her hubby and grandkids live out there as well, so we will have our X-mas with the grand kids while we are there.

Oh dear Kathy, laughing at your cousin reminding you to get mammo! It being a forwarded email, she obviously wasn't thinking as to who she should send it to. I thought we called the bus, The Magic Party Bus.

Cindy, feel free to clutter up the lounge as much as you want. We have Tattie Tenders to clean up after us. Here is a little video of our lounge The Hot Tatties Lounge aka The HTL, for you and the other new gals to watch. We are here to help you though whatever, and to throw in some fun with the mix. We have to keep LIVING.  http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aA1oe_ER96s  And we can all get on the bus and join you for anything you want us there for. We are pretty good about that.

Bernie, great news on not being so sore and a new car? What did you get? Will take us all for a ride please?

Juliet, you work at night? Can you tell us what you do?

Mrs V, that was a perfect come back to say to your friends. I hope they have taken you up on it and called your DH and will after your surgery too. Love that you have the secret ICONS place. Secrets are so fun! You are too funny about not getting on the scale! Good luck today.

Beanz, you better get back here.....dat big foot dint git you, did he?

Good deal on the massage Scuby. I think NM does that every so often as well. Kathy, you were wanting some "ME" time, how about doing the massage thing? And thank you in advance for giving DorK a hug, but have her give you one too from all of us. Most likely you ARE missing some, as well as I am. This place is getting to be so popular!

Love all my Princesses here, will try and check in later. Night time is not my time, I am at the computer all day long, so when I turn it off, it usually stays off until morning. DORK AND SCUBZ, HAVE A GREAT DAY TOGETHER MY CHICAS!

LMAO Allison....and who says us galz don't have balls!!! That was awesome, glad you stood up (or sat down!) for yourself!!! Bet that nurse will tell that story for YEARS.....no one has the balls to not get weighed. That made my day! See ya tomorrah! Oh yeah, I love the ICONS acronym....

Scuby, oh that massage sounds soooooo nice. Could sure use one!

Julie, LOL at the large print....awhile ago we would accidentally hit something and didn't know what we hit to end up with large print.SO a couple of us figured it out, and now can do it on  purpose when we want to. Join the club!

Bernie, Oh how great that you have a new car!! I love the new car smell.....my oldest DD can't stand it, so wouldn't ride in our car till the "new" smell disappeared. Congrats! Can't wait to see you......lots to do before we leave, but I will love finally stepping on Ireland soil (or pavement!).

OOPS bumped into ya, Lori! Hope I didn't hurt you, but maybe thats why you were carrying a pillow??? LOL. Neat that you will have Christmas with DH's kids and your g'kids...what fun!!! Hope you enjoy the trade show.

Cindy, Glad Lori posted the link. SHE made that video, took a lot of work! We all designed and thought of the HTL, but it took beaucoup time for Lori to make the video, and we are soooooo glad to have it! Now you will know more of what we have here...a total utopia.

Lori, Would LOVE to have a massage, but right now have too much going on. Between our stuff and helping my parents with their stuff, I am on the go. But omg I have so many kinks in my back and shoulders. PANTS, will you make a house call today and give me a masage??? Pwetty puleez....and visit any other loungettes that would like one too, okay???

    Ciao!

Good Morning all, welcome to the new gals....Cindy and .....oh darn I cant remember the other new girls name and I cant page back or I will loose post...well welcome new girl lol you find so much support and encouragement here glad you found us.

OMG Astorm loved the chicken costume was so funny what a super sense of humour you must have.

and ummmm the pictures of the bums.....Tongue outoh my keep in mind girls I am single now and stuff like that could send me over the edge lol.

Well Halloween was good, DD had a great time it was chilly but my to go cup kept me warm hehe. No sign of FAH, but he still periodically calls me at work laying all the blame on me for everything going wrong in his life. It hurts but there is nothing I can do about it. Just keep moving forward. I receieved a letter from my Lawyer yesterday letting me know that as He has not lawyered up or contacted his office he is now in Default which means we can proceed to the judge without notifying him anymore and he is not allowed know to put up a defense. I guess he thought I would just roll over not really sure where his mind is at as he doesnt really communicate with me anymore. Weird to go from someones lover to their enemy over night not a very good feeling I must say. But I am doing what I have to to protect myself and my kids.

Am at work so have to run but hope you all have a great day

    Hugs Kymn

Oh Kymnie, SO glad things are looking up, and that ratba$tard will get what he deserves. Great that he didn't "lawyer up"....sounds like things might work out in your favor. Not a happy time, but at least you will make sure you and your kids are protected. And the way you look, you won't be a single gal for long.....unless you want to. Once those single guys know you are out there....watch out!!!! BUT ya know, they have to pass OUR inspection!!! LOL. Cheers!
