My MO doesn't do scans unless absolutely necessary either. Says we're just " chasing shadows" unless there are symptoms or strong indications.

My MO also does not do scans, unless there are symptoms. He does an annual blood test with markers for my, now, annual visit with him. He'd see me twice a year if I didn't see my PCP at least quarterly.

Yea I amI dont Understand cat scan didnt pick something up inMay but Pet scan picked something up in Nov? Is a Cat scan a good imaging test?

Goutlaw- I feel so bad for you,you sound absolutely terrified. I wish I had some answers for you but as kayb says you really need to meet with your doctor to get specific answers related to your Pet Scan results. Please know that you are in my thoughts and prayers. Please take care and try not to make yourself crazy trying to understand the results without talking to your doctor. Hugs

Goutlaw please don't take this wrong, but u'r putting so much stress on u'rself, it's not helping how u feel or u'r results. Please try to remember it is what it is and there are NO tried and true rules, no matter what the % is, I do hope u'r taking something for u'r anxiety, if u are, ask for something else to help u, And if u'r not please ask the Dr. Do u go to any support groups? That seems to be of help for a lot of people too. And of course coming here I think is wonderful, but sometimes we need more so just think about all this.

Gout, chill to the max. Most things on the adrenals and kidneys are not really much of anything. They are mostly cysts, or the rare and extremely infrequent pheochromocytoma, which would make you have sky-high blood pressure and you'd be jumping out of your skin and weigh about 102 lbs... My thoughts, be super thrilled with the clean bones, brain and lungs and chillax. You are doing well, and you really need to make sure you can get some straight answers from your doctors. Do they blow you off?

Lago, I can't believe ACS didn't snap you up, but I like how you are handling it and agree with the sorority explanation. I see that in different groups within my company, and it isn't a smart approach. But you are right, it isn't worth getting angry over, and they are being short sighted. If you ever think of a career in diagnostic/pharma let me know :-)

So I have to say I am very, very, very thankful for all of you wise women who have talked me down from the ledge multiple times over this year and at the end of the last year. You all will never know how much the things you have typed/chatted about has helped me. I prayed at grace at the Thankshannukah table this Thursday about all of you and your love and support. I have a little tear or two here...thank you!!!

goutlaw, ditto everyone else. Deep breaths! Put it in a box and only open it up again at the Dr's office. Or just give yourself permission to worry for a half hour. Then stop. Go do something. Go for a walk. Make tea. Drive around your neighborhood and see who has Christmas lights up. Stuff like that helped me calm down. Then you can worry for a half hour the next day. Then just keep doing other stuff . Good luck.

In January 2008, it was also approved as a stand-alone medicine following anthracycline-based chemotherapy.1 In May 2008, Herceptin and chemotherapy (docetaxel and carboplatin), known as TCH, was approved. Bren it is not uncommon for DCIS to be HER2+ but not turn into invasive HER2+ even if it does go invasive. Last time I checked they do not give Herceptin to those with non-invasive disease so it wouldn't have mattered back in 2000 if it was available. You won't have received it.

As a sort of late comer to this group I am so grateful to each of you. I do not post as often as some, but I read and often reread posts. As I read what many of you survive I am humbled by your wit and cheer and ability to support others. I often want to roll into a fetal position and have a very long and loud pity party. I can then read the suggestion to allow myself 30 minutes then kick myself in the rear and go on. A nice suggestion I need often! I am fortunate I am employed with good health insurance. I am very fortunate that the #%^$ husband walked out the day my port was placed--despite the anger I felt and some lonely times since. I am fortunate for good friends and family. And for the women on this and other threads.

As I have told my 2012 Chemo group. We really need to meet someplace with hot and cold running maid service and cabana boys.

Sorry I took down the post and didn't get a chance to put it back. My understanding is that it would not have been available to you. It was only for metastatic breast cancer at the time. In fact it wasn't until 2006 that many of us would have received it.
