Accidentally "dropped" this off my favourites list, but wouldn't have had much to add this past week other than about 20 minutes each day of some yoga. But, the volunteer commitment is finished for now, so hopefully will get back into the routine I want to be in. Of course, it would help if it wasn't so STUPID COLD here still. Like so many of us, I am sick of winter, this year. This isn't the norm for me, but when it's too cold to go out and play, winter is ........ just stupid.

TwoHobbies, isn't it great to notice improvement?
Well we finally got some weather here, lots of rain and tree branches down all over the place from wind. Can't believe the forecasts from family back east though-- expecting twelve inches of snow in one week!!
Walked (in the rain), hooping, and some weights.
Tacos for dinner! Haven't had any traditional crispy tacos in years. Probably won't need any more for another few years :-)

Joy, good to read a update by you and I looked up Icebug - thanks! Looked up the Run and Dye and a fun run indeed although I'd worry about messing up my nearly £100 Brooks. I used C25K as a starter and Zombies run app. to get training for my first 5k in ages, last June. Claire, good to read you are happy and content with the recent changes.
I've gotten stronger and longer endurance from constancy - something that has always been on tap here with the 'voices'. Took roughly 4 months off of regular working out caring for my husband during his recent throat cancer tx and as you know, was able to sporadically post some exercise along with the hair-on-fire fear that gripped me. These past few months, the 'new normal' life is returning and have upped workouts to include more mindfulness. I'm really enjoying yoga, body balance and running and seeing shifts, inside and out.
Ran 5.64k and did interval training towards the end. My Nike ipod app afterwards, had Lance Armstrong booming through my earbuds telling me I had run my fastest mile yet - I yelled back - Liar!

Recovering from the week, including yesterday's festivities in Vancouver. I had no idea what the day would be like, but truly memorable.

Interesting when one of your friends becomes a public figure, but Melissa Skelton definitely crossed that boundary yesterday when she was installed as bishop. BTW - she is that down to earth and real. And a major help four years ago when I was getting hammered with treatment. She will be missed here in Seattle. - Claire

Neat link, Claire. I love grand ceremonies and it brought a tear to my eye!

Just back from a 5 mile run in the park - last run before the predicted ice followed by 6-8 inches of snow overnight. Make it stop!!!!!!!

Shovel and Sculpt - 30 minutes. Walked the dog 15. I can't wait till I'm reporting gardening and lawn mowing as my exercise!

Two,
That is my 20 year old son's favorite Seuss quote. He's the child who, as a toddler, used to thump me over the head with a book while saying, "Wead to me, Mommy." You can imagine how that warmed my Reading Specialist heart!!
Stairs today. But probably not enough to pay for my lunch.
A couple of my favorites from the Lorax:
"It's not about what it is, it's about what it can become.”
“Unless someone like you cares a whole awful lot, nothing is going to get better. It's not.”

I really do hate to rub this in, but it was 72 degrees and blue skies here today! Right now it's 67 with clouds arriving. Tomorrow winter returns with a chance of wintry mix.
Dh and I met our ds and dd in Chapel Hill yesterday to celebrate dd's birthday. We ate at a restaurant whose specialty is waffles, fried chicken, and macaroni and cheese as a side order. Weird combination but it was good!
We spend the night and had a wonderful time walking around Chapel Hill in the 72 degrees today. Ok, I'm bragging - we even had the air conditioner on for the ride back home.

wonderland......your weather report makes me more jealous than I care to admit!
60 minutes on the dreadmill......for obvious reasons....(sigh). Some walk/run and some incline intervals. The forecast is currently saying it will be +4 on Friday.....given that at the moment it is -36, I can only hope they're right, or the mental wards will be overflowing come Saturday morning!!!!
Sad, how 3 weeks of minimal cardio and poor eating can take its toll on fitness and scales, but, things didn't regress as much as I feared. Just have to pay attention to "the voices" until I'm back on track.

We started the day with weather like Wonderland's and walked the dogs after church as a cold front started to blow in. My daughter up just north of Dallas had snow this afternoon.
I went to the gym and did upper and lower body weight lifting this evening.

About 60 minutes of chop, shovel and sculpt today. Back to early morning group fitness tomorrow after a week of being a slug.
Ruth - I made your chicken recipe today and it was delish! Saved two of the chicken breasts out to take to a neighbor tomorrow (who recently fell and fractured her back) and her DH (who is NOT comfortable in the kitchen).

Exercise this weekend consisted of running errands as we prepare for another possible foot of snow... Normally a snow lover but am just done now.
Signed up for my first 5k run with obstacles. Local fitathon in April so will really need to step up my training. Excited and nervous...

More unpack and sculpt plus a mile or so walk in the pelting rain. Here are the results of my unpacking. - Claire

Claire your friend radiates joy, the people of Vancouver are truly blessed. Glad you got sunshine Wonderland and got to spend time with your DS and DD. Odie you will do great, anyone who can wield a shovel can lick those obstacles. LB because we do the same programs I know how strong you are, anyone who can Step and Attack back to back is simply in one word a 'beast' you go girl
Joy wonderful to see you.Did Body Pump this morning, yesterday went to a wedding in Long Beach on board the Carnival Majesty, we had to check in on the Queen Mary and it was a 'hurry up and wait' experience, we had to be there by 10.30am, my friends son was getting married, the one thing everyone forgot about was the little ones, they were dressed up and the magic words 'I'm hungry' were uttered, well of course no one had though to put anything in for them to nibble on so I got to get my exercise by climbing stairs and walking what seemed like miles to a Starbucks, I actually spent $50 on snacks but everything was eaten and the wedding was lovely, Carnival did a terrific job.

LilacBlue, I'm happy things are feeling more normal for you. Claire, cute living room you have there. Cheryl, sounds like a fun wedding.
Walked just after sunset today, nice color in the clouds and lots of birds. Also did a hooping challenge from my live online lesson group.

Ruth - it's your b-day today? Happy Birthday!! And remember, birthday cake calories don't count.

Claire - beautiful room - love all the light pouring in. Cheryl - fun wedding - good for you for saving the day by feeding the kids!
No work today due to ice and snow. Two sessions of Shovel N Sculpt, so I'm getting my upper body workout. Cleaned out the downstairs spare bedroom closet and dressers today - amazing how much junk one can accumulate.

Thank you! I have been celebrating for about a week, so need to quit soon.....or buy new pants
! Yoga this morning, coffee with friends this afternoon, Zumba in an hour, & then off to the league championship game of the college men's team we have been following all season. Whoo Hoo!0 -
Happy Birthday Ruth! (and many more.......!)
60 minute group class this morning. Oh. My. Goodness. I'm really starting to notice that my feet are consistently being more sore on the bottoms, especially on work-out days. The stiffness/soreness works itself out after walking around a bit, and I've had the problem for a while now (it's just getting more intense), and it doesn't affect me while I'm actually working out. That's something for the Arimidex SE thread though. I'm only mentioning it here because working out seems to make it worse on those days......sigh.......again

This doesn't have anything to do with exercise, but I love it so much that I am sharing it anyway:

Happy birthday Ruth!!! Hope you had a wonderful day.
Claire, love the living room with all that natural light.
Way to save the day Cheryl!
Ran an entire 5k on the treadmill this morning just to be sure I could do it then did an hour of shovel and sculpt this afternoon. Now off to work on the laundry

Thank you everyone. Yes, light was one of the selling points about my new place. Plus, long vistas which I had with my Seattle apartment. Interesting that everyone picked up on the light as I face NORTH!!!
I love the fact that I can go for a run and return by way of the supermarket. So got in ~5k once the rain cleared.
I am enjoying the space too. Things were cluttered before. This time, I am determined to have a place to put everything. My new extra closet shelves are just wonderful. I can actually put my sports stuff in its own place. I still need a wardrobe which I will order from Ikea once I get paid for some work. Just the extra hanging space I need, and I may put my work clothes in there so everything is together. Not sure yet.
My work space is on the other side of the room. Much nicer than being locked away in a cube. Still struggling with technology, but that will come. Or that fancy phone system goes (along with my new tablet).
Hoping you have an absolutely fab birthday, Ruth. No, I don't think you can over-celebrate. Not if you are able to get out of bed the next day.
I still have some bedroom stuff to put away, and I need to get moving on it as it is covering my bed!!!! But so wonderful to be at this point with the move. - Claire
