Yum Ruth, sounds good! Cheryl, sorry about the little guy. Odie, what Disney ship? I was on the Magic this time last year - fun. Mary, decluttering never seems to stop. I'm still getting rid of stuff preparing to put the house back on the market once I have a structural problem repaired.
30 mins treadmill. This seems to be my daily movement these days. Too lazy to get to the gym but at least I'm moving.
Night sculpted friends.

Ruth, congrats on the normal mammo and the clean house. Cheryl, not sure if it is poor puppy or poor you but you are a wonderful petsitter.
Patoo, the cruise is actually a Royal Caribbean ship but we are going a few days early staying at a Disney Resort and visiting the park. And don't belittle your workout cuz at least you are moving. (Plus my exercise today was jogging on the treadmill for 30 minutes tonight
)Have a good evening ladies.

Ruth - Great news on the mamo!
I did 3 sets of 10 reps on 6 circuit machines - 30 minutes.

I did 45 min on the treadmill this morning.
Ruth- glad your mammo was uneventful.
I am heading to Boston in the morning tomorrow for my oncology check-in appt. They have gotten so much snow lately; I hope the roads are clear.

Ruth:

Olaf:

Just a quick check in. Today I taped and cut in the bedroom ceiling. Also cut in the den ceiling and kitchen ceiling (I taped most of it last night). The den and kitchen walls are wood paneling so no painting. Our house was built in 1968 and the paneling really dates it. One day we may do something with it but not now!
Dh was a dream today. While I was putting the bedroom back together, he spring cleaned the kitchen preparing it for the ceiling. Then we draped the den so he could paint the ceiling. We just finished putting the room back and I'm bushed! Still need to paint the kitchen ceiling. Hopefully tomorrow.
We have one more bedroom to paint. Ds needs to come home and go through his things before we start painting. It's a little room and will go fast. I also have an area in the basement that needs some painting. And then I'm through!
My exercise today (an previous days): repeatedly balancing on a step stool while holding a paint brush in one hand and a paint can in the other, stretching over my head to paint, bending to paint, scrubbing paint of the floor, moving furniture, cleaning............

Ruth, congrats on the clean mammo. Question for all - post treatment, how often are you getting mammograms? I was surprised that my surgeon said I'd need them every six months for the rest of my life. I thought I'd eventually graduate to annual.
Cheryl, so sorry to hear about your little charge. Is the blind pup the one that fell into the pool? What did the vet think caused the disorientation?
It was a long day at work for me. Tonight's exercise consisted of a 1/2 mile walk with DD, Hogan and Finley. It was her first walk and first time on a harness/leash. She was very good (walk the length of a house or two and then get carried by DD for the same). Unfortunately we came across a guy and his young daugter out walking their three dogs. The daughter wasn't big enough to control the dog she had and it dragged her across the streets to "jump" Hogan. The Dad had the other two dogs and DD was holding Finley so neither could be much help and we had a bit of a dog fight. Finley was a bit freaked out about the whole affair but settled down once we got home. Poor dear must be wondering what kind of scary neighborhood she moved in to

Excercise for the day is dancing in the kitchen while I do dishes

Cheryl, how heartbreaking for this to happen to this sweet dog-hang in there, you are doing great..everyone is doing great! Ruth, good news (and tidy, clean house) and my mammo is in Friday, - certain it's the same as well, sans house cleaning.

Vibe box and body balance at the gym this morning.

Ruth, so glad that mammo was good!! I am sure the radiologist will sign off on it !! Thank you for the recipe!
Cheryl, poor puppy, and I agree, you are a great sitter!!
Prayers for a great Mammogram, Lilac Blue!!!

I will be empathizing with you on Friday, Lilac!
It is freezing cold here....brrrrrr......my Wednesday walking ladies walked at the Civic Center this morning. They are putting in new seat so we got to dodge between the boxes. I'll go to Zumba tonight & probably stay for yoga as well. I need to drop my vacation poundage!

LA, I went back to yearly mammograms after the second year. I questioned my onc about that & he said doing it more than once a year was too much radiation. I would talk to my oncologist about it, not the surgeon......the follow up part is not their specialty.

Ruth - so glad to hear your mammo was uneventful! I used to love that chicken dish you posted, but haven't made it in years due to being gluten free. I need to see if I can find a good gf stuffing mix to use in place of the Stove Top!
Wonderland - am still in awe of all your painting progress! I had planned on surprising my husband while he was out of town last week by painting my daughter's bathroom. Then it dawned on me I wouldn't be able to get the ladder from the garage and upstairs, so I didn't start it. Now that he is home, maybe we can get it done together.
Cheryl - so sad about the poor pup!
LA - Finley is absolutely adorable! Glad he was able to settle down after the rumble!
Lilac - best wishes for a clean mammo on Friday!
Exercise for me today was two sessions of arm exercises and a 35 minute walk around the neighborhood with my sweet chugg. It was great because we both got in some exercise and it really tuckered her out so she has been very well behaved this evening!
Good night all

Hi Everybody! I'm sitting here watching my dh paint the kitchen ceiling. And I don't have to help! I had a meeting tonight and got a night off.
I fast walked/jogged early this afternoon because I knew I would be sitting for 4 hours in the meeting.

I'm making progress! For the first time since this whole mess started I was able to run up the hill on my loop, not just once, but twice. On top of that, I was able to run four laps whereas I've only been able to do three for the past month. Yea

Thanks all, Sid has been diagnosed as a diabetic, his numbers were 653 and normal is 150 so his poor body was so out of whack, no wonder he is drinking and peeling so much. I went this morning and learned how to give him shots, he'll have to have shots twice a day for the rest of his life and each day he is improving and he is managing the blindness really well tonight I was walking him and our cat was sitting on the lawn and I said 'hello Charlie' and Sid started barking, first time he's barked since Sunday. Ruth so glad your mammo was all clear and LB sending good vibes to you for Friday. Wonderland you could become a painting contractor, you've really been getting a great upperbody workout. LARock I hope Finley wasn't too traumatized by his run in. Ginger I wish we could send you our heat to melt your snow today it was 80 here. Kathy will probably come up to Torrance in a couple of weeks I will text you and we can get together and your GD is absolutely adorable.
Yesterday did Body Jam our instructor is going to Boston to present on stage in two weeks so she tried out the new choreography on us last night, always confusing on the first night but I'll get it after a couple of classes and tonight did Body Combat.

Hello, I am new to this community and finished my treatments last June 2014. I mostly have been dealing with fatigue. I am working on regaining my strength, and getting stronger. I am in a core training class at my PT office. They are wonderful at Olympic Physical Therapy in Bellevue, WAand it helps me manage some chronic recurring low back pain that I have dealt with over the years. Pre-Cancer I was in the mid-level "Build" class. Now I am back in the beginner "base" class with mostly people twice my age! Ugg! Trying hard to pace myself and stay positive. I have an 8 year old daughter that I am trying to keep up with....

Welcome Bus! It's so hard to accept how much conditioning we lose after b/c treatments, isn't it? But it sounds like you're on the right track to build back up. It will go more slowly than you want, but if you stick with it, you will regain your previous fitness level. It's great you have a beginner base class to go back to - it will give you a good start without pushing you into overdoing, and will keep you busy. Since you've had nodes removed, there's a thread with information on how to design a safe exercise program after node removal. There's even a link to a handout you can download and give to your class instructor to make him/her aware of lymphedema so they can give you alternate poses as needed until you build up more upper body strength. I've bumped the thread for you, but here's a link to it:
https://community.breastcancer.org/forum/58/topic/801453. The name of the thread is: Guidelines on Exercise For Those With/At Risk for Lymphedema.
Ruth - congrats on the good mammo! Good luck on your mammo tomorrow Lilac. Cheryl - poor Sid, but so glad you got him dx properly. No wonder he was so disoriented.
No exercise for me this week - I've had some weird shortness of breath thing the last several months so my PCP sent me to a cardiologist this week. It's probably nothing, but since I had adriamycin as part of my chemo, everyone is a bit twitchy when it comes to anything that could be heart related. I had an echocardiogram and that looked OK, but there was some weird thing in my EKG so I'm scheduled for a nuclear stress test next week. In the meantime, the cardiologist said no running till the test!!
We're still doing the final clean out and we have the 3-day weekend coming up, so hope to make a good dent in packing. I will be SO glad to be moved and settled!!!!!0 -
Welcome Bus74 and you read as on track to work it back. Go Mary and Cheryl, good that Sid has you (for now), poor little guy.
Pink pilates in the morning and iyengar yoga in the afternoon.

hi all and welcome Bus74. Nats gave you some great advice. Slow & steady is the way to go.
Ruth, nice new avatar pic. ((Cheryl)) you're the best dogsitter ever. LB good luck tomorrow.
Mary, fingers crossed! If you can't run, can you at least have a margarita to help manage the stress of waiting for your stress test?
Had our Valentine's dinner Tues as DH works Sat. He had steak, I had mushroom ravioli, and we split a bottle of Gnarly Head Old Vine Zinfandel. Grapes grown on gnarly old vines make for yummy wine! Claire, it's from Lodi CA and I think you'd like it. We got a dessert to split but a few bites was enough for me as I found it overly sweet.
Walked @ indoor track 30 mins last night and 45 mins tonight. Keep up the good work, everyone!

Welcome Bus! Today was more strength training. 6 circuit machines, 3 sets and increased the reps to 15 from 10, same weight. I had a really bad year last year and had 3 surgeries in addition to my BMX - 2 joint replacements and back fusion. I am trying to get my stamina back before my exchange surgery on April 20th. It's slow going, but, you ladies are very inspirational for me. Thank you all so much!

Welcome Bus74. Lilacblue, sending positive energy for your mammo tomorrow. Mary, good luck with the stress test. Think Badger has the right idea indulging in a margarita to get you thru...lol
Went to bootcamp tonight after work. Great circuit workout.
Happy Friday everyone.

Welcome, Bus74!
Yikes, Mary, let us know what the cardiologist says. Sounds like you are getting enough of a workout anyway with all the cleaning & packing!
SummerSun, you HAVE had a whole crummy year. Here's to a happy, healthy, healing 2015!
I taught 6th grade math all day and went to Zumba tonight. Between the dancing, running up & down the stairs of the school to the third floor multiiple times, walking up & down rows of kids for 6 hours, and explaining ratios all day; I really got a workout!

2/12- 45 min at the gym today doing resistance training today. I found a kettle bell at a store I was in today and bought it for home. My very own kettle bell!
Cassiecat- good luck with the rad and exercise and keep us posted.
Bus74- welcome to our thread. I like to encourage everyone to just start from where ever they are at. We all had to build up again after what we went through (still am doing so too, it's a journey for sure). Glad you joined in here and great group of ladies.
Ruth- congrats on the good mammo results!
Badger- I love Gnarly Head Old Vine Zin. YUM!

No real exercise yesterday, but the Toga Party was a hoot, especially the couple who showed up in matching bed sheets! Wonderful wine released too, which was actually a different year of another wine I enjoyed but released under the Pinup label. I will make sure I share it with my guy tomorrow on Valentine's Day.
If I get back in time this evening, I will do a run. Then three days of skiing so will be back up to speed exercise-wise.
I wore my fun and sexy boots, but that meant I couldn't walk far. Back to more sensible footwear today. They are fun for around the office, but not the streets and hills of Seattle.
The photos were fun. Lots of styled pinups, but the ones I thought were really wonderful were the ones of the young male bartender styled as Film Noir. He can totally do that look.
An extremely fun evening! - Claire

Good on you and hubby Mary! Super Jazzy and I think you have done amazingly well since joining this thread; I'm inspired! Just in from seeing Sue, my BS and a clear mammo and off to get son from the train station. Term break next week so he will be home, eating everything in sight~sigh.
Freestyle step and body balance at the gym this morning.

I know where you ate, Mary. Yum and Slurp!
Your toga party sounds like it was very fun, Claire.
Congratulations on the all clear, Lilac. I am still awaiting my official letter & getting kind of mad at the slowness. I will be calling Monday if nothing is in the mail by then.
Yoga this morning. Went to lunch with some girlfriends. Did the every rare thing of taking a nap this afternoon (all those ratios yesterday must have worn me out) and will be going to a benefit dinner tonight with a New Orleans theme. No cooking for me....whoo hoo!

Friday I usually want to take off but finding my eating on Friday, for some reason, has been out of control so need to move to 'move' all the bad stuff down and out so will get up in a few and go down for some treadmill work.
Have a great weekend sculpted friends.
