Great photo, Ruth! Woke up this am to unexpected snow and a winter storm warning! Forecasters missed the boat on this one.

Today we explored a very cool Riparian Preserve.

Took a long walk around our friends village this morning. It was 38 degrees, so almost felt like home (in a bad way!).

Ruth - 38 is down right frigid for AZ - but surely warmer than ND. Cold, colder and colder here - by the week-end on in the teens for a high - some snow but more for mountains than for Denver
Everyone stay safe and stay warm
Happy Tuesday

it was 32 this morning. I think I picked the wrong week to come here. It's in the 30s in North Dakota this week and all the cold air arrives about the time we get back. GRRRR! Lots of good outside walking here, no ice or snow, and oranges right off the trees; so it's still a nice break.

Wonder - the coffee pot matches your shirt. Do you have a design in mind for the coffee pot? Great news on the mammo. My last mammogram was 17 years ago this week as no need for one since I had a bilateral.
I got my new hearing aids this afternoon. Wow - they are so much better than my previous pair which were 5+ years old. More powerful and I have an ear mold for my bad ear. Plus they sync with my iPhone so all calls go through my hearing aids so I can hear pretty well on the phone. I just ordered new headphones to use on the computer when I'm in zoom meetings. I can't wear ear buds due to the HAs. My DS helped me find a decent pair. I had a pair of BEATS that I lost this past summer.
Two week follow up with Podiatrist tomorrow afternoon. The boot is a real pain (no pun intended) as I have to take it off to drive then put it back on to go into the house, work or a store. I'm not good about wearing it in the house.
Sweet dreams

Wonder, he told me 6 weeks with the boot so have another 4 weeks. This is just a 2 week follow up. You are so multi-talented.
This afternoon, 17 years ago, the nightmare began. When I had my annual mammo, they were so matter of fact when they said that they need another view as they couldnt see everything (or something similar). They did not raise any alarm in me, those it was the first time it happened. I was getting ready to leave work and see a message from where I had my annual mammogram 3 days earlier - I knew it could not be good news. I was told that they saw something on the mammogram and I needed a spot compression mammogram and if they "couldn't squeeze it out", then ultrasound. This was a Thursday - the following Monday the spot compression and ultrasound and they wouldn't let me leave before they scheduled the biopsy. It was a whirlwind of tests - biopsy on 02/02 and heard the horrid words on 02/03. At the biopsy, the doctor said "you'll have to tell your daughter (she had just left for second semester), so I knew. 02/02 is considered date of diagnosis. So from call back to Dx was one week. This year, the dates are the same dates of the week as 2006. It's always a hard week. But wow - 17 years in one week!!! I'm so grateful.
Have a great Thursday.

That is so cute, Wonderland!
Glad you are 17 years out! I am February too but one year behind you.
Doing lots of walking. It's been sweatshirt weather all week in Arizona, but a lot nicer than what we'll return to when we fly back tomorrow. Hope we can get all the way home; apparently it's snowing like crazy!

Karen, I am so glad you are 17 years out! I'm February too but one year behind you. It is good to be alive!
I've been walking, walking, walking. It's been sweatshirt weather all week here in Arizona. Cool for here but much nicer than what I'll go home to. We fly back tomorrow....I guess it's snowing like crazy today....boo.

Karen: You knew as soon as the doctor said, "you'll have to tell your daughter." Anniversary dates can bring back bad memories. But like you wrote, so grateful that you were diagnosed and able to be treated!
Ruth: Love sweatshirt weather. Safe travel day tomorrow and sorry about the snow back home. Many people here are wishing for one good snow. So far it's only been rainy days.
My teeth cleaning was uneventful. Walked/ran this afternoon.

We made it safely home, where it is very cold! I've been unpacking, going through mail etc. ever since. We got a pizza for supper as I left the cupboard pretty bare. A grocery run is on the schedule for tomorrow!

Yoga today & still need to run around the house to get the rest of my 10,000 steps.

-10F this morning, record low tied with same date in 1985. Windchill this morning was -22F. Currently its 0F. Thankfully its warming up to the 40s by the end of the week, then cooling back down to the 30s. Hopefully we are done with the bitter cold for 2023.
Ruth - stay warm and everyone stay safe

I am freezing just reading your temperatures, Karen and Ruth! Watched the nightly news and all the ice that's forming in several states is scary.
Had my annual physical today. I really like my doctor. He said, "I've seen many feet and you have great feet!" I'll take any compliment I can lol. All my walking pays off in lots of different ways!
Walked/ran after my appointment. (I hate to say, but it was 64 degrees.) We are expecting rain, rain, and more rain for the next 3 days.

Don't hate to say it's 64 degrees, that sounds wonderful!
I went to Pound tonight so I won't have to go to the 8:00 class in the morning.

Zumba & Yoga tonight.

Cloudy, rain off and rain today. Did some housework with lots more to do. Met dd for dinner.

Love your WWW picture, Ruth!
A dreary day today. I'm dreaming of Spring also.
Got some things done I've been putting off. Walked in the house.

Did a Cardio class this morning, prior to going for Mammogram. It was a different and brand new 3D machine and they only did 2 images on each breast. Left (surgical) one a bit tender, so only did Bodyweight Boot Camp & Zumba Gold later this afternoon. Will take several days to know the results. This is the first post 5 years one, so no more knowing the results right away.

I did an indoor walking DVD today. It is supposed to warm up tomorrow.......but I'll believe it when I see it!

Took the day off exercising as it was eye exam day and still a left breast still a bit ouchy. Needed new scrips for both distance and computer glasses. Went to Costco and got 3 pairs of glasses for just over $300! They have a very nice selection of frames.
Surprisingly, Mammo results were posted to My Chart this morning & all is good! 6 years NED.
Cold here in the greater Cincinnati area, too. High of 27 today, 45 for the high tomorrow.

Celiac - great news on your clean mammogram
Yesterday and today have been emotional days. I really didn't expect it to be but this year it hit me hard. Yesterday, 17 years ago was my biopsy and I left pretty sure I had breast cancer and today February 3/2006 is when I heard those dreaded words. During the biopsy, I made the comment that I didn't know how I would tell my daughter who just went back to school for second semester and she responded "you'll have to tell her". I can't say the BC has been a gift, but I have met so many wonderful women these past 17 years - some only virtually and others in person. I am grateful for every day that I have. I treated myself to a pretty bouquet from Trader Joes so it was only 6.99 and sushi (vegetarian) for lunch. Gd willing I will continue to be relatively healthy. I see my hematologist March 1st and my medical oncologist mid April.
Have a great week-end.

Congratulations on the mammo, Celiac! Mine is in March, and I will be glad when that is over with!
Karen, sending you a hug. Anniversarys are an emotional time & I'm glad you bought yourself flowers. I still get queasy when I think too much about the whole diagnosis/treatment time of my life. But, like you, I am truly grateful for the wonderful people in my life who I would have never met but for this experience & truly appreciative of normal days with normal problems & so, so much more.
It is supposed to be 55 degrees warmer today than it was Friday (which means it will be 35 degrees above zero). Crazy weather! A teacher friend & her puppy are coming over for a playdate this afternoon so I will be able to catch up on all the school gossip. I'm not sure what I'll do for exercise, maybe even walk OUTSIDE!

Celiac: Congratulations on your mammo results! Such a good feeling.
Karen: How wonderful that you treated yourself to flowers. I'll be 17 years in November this year. Had my mx on my dh's birthday. I'm so grateful for all the ladies I have met here.

Ruth: Hope you get to actually walk outside today!
I walked/ran today. Haven't been able to walk outside since Monday bc of all the rain we've had. It has been so pretty today with blue skies and crisp cold air.

Thanks everyone. I know the other dates - like date of mastectomy, first chemo etc but those don't bother me as I was already in the thick of things. Today I'm fine. It's just February 2nd and 3rd.
The weather is pleasant here today - sun and low 50s tomorrow back to the mid to low 40s for most of the week.
Spent the afternoon looking through an under the bed box filled with pictures and other things from my late mother. Lots of pictures that I sent of my kids, my cap from high school graduation, photos from her childhood and of my grandparents and great grandparent. Includes is my paternal grandfather's landing papers and his passport (I had seen passport before), my father's discharge from the Canadian Army, a photo of my grandmother, her two brothers and my grandmother from the "old" country. The three oldest were 2 years 4 months apart then a 10 year gap till number 4 as my great grandfather went to Canada first and it took a long time for my great grandmother and the 3 kids to arrive. Letters that my grandmother wrote to my mother in 1950 from Old Orchard beach and many other momentos. Very nostalgic yet in some ways sad. No one left to ask any questions. Next task is to grow through it again and throw away the multiple copies of the same pictures of my kids, DH and I - but not of the old pictures.
Everyone stay warm and safe

karen1956 - Good for you - treating yourself to some lovely flowers and yummy sushi. Gotta love Trader Joe's. Tough thing to do - going through old photos/keepsakes.
Thanks to those for the well wishes in re: mammo. Did Silver Sneakers Cardio, Circuit and Yoga today.

Karen: What a treasure you found under the bed. Dh's aunt dies in late 2019 at the age of 96 and we have been slowly going through her possessions (she didn't have any children). One of the last things to go through in her house are her pictures. And there are a lot of them!
Walked/ran late this afternoon.

I loved old pictures! Luckily both sides of the family were picture takers so i have wonderful pictures from the past. ....it is definitely nostalgic so see my grandparents when they were dating, my dad at summer camp, my uncle with his wavy blonde hair & convertible (surrounded by girls on the running board).......poor Uncle Frank, he later went bald! So much history; some happy, some sad when you know how their stories turned out.
I went to Flow Yoga & Yoga Nidra today. Very relaxing.
