Yesterday was cold, snowy, blowy. Did my errands in the morning so I could stay put the rest of the day. Did a 30 minute cardio dance DVD. My yoga class was cancelled this morning so I will have to do some sort of toning on my own again today.

Can you imagine lighting candles on your tree today?!?! It would be crazy! But how cool that your father grew up doing that.

I haven't done any formal exercise yesterday or today. Yesterday I finished putting up the inside decorations. Just had a few left. Today I met dd for coffee and then we went to the Holiday Market at the last Farmers Market scheduled for this year. I bought some Reindeer Energy Food (for humans - Salty and sweet mixture). Ate that while sitting on my tail reading a book. I've convinced myself I must have needed it on the rainy day we're having.

Ruth: I get a chill just reading about the weather you're having!

Didn't feel like walking outside so I walked in the house. I do that sometimes when the weather is unfavorable. Now I need to do somethings I have been putting off. I've been The Queen of Procrastination lately. Which isn't a good thing but occasionally happens.

It was sunny and 36 degrees here (which is nice for here). We took advantage of it with a long walk. I also did a yoga DVD

Zumba, coffee with a friend, and tons of errands. I really think I am done with the shopping part of Christmas 'stuff'.

    Sweet Bruno picture!

Went to our Christmas Parade tonight. We were standing near the beginning it. You wouldn’t believe all the candy that was thrown out to the crowd! I stood with my friend who has a 4 year old. He had a plastic grocery bag full of the candy. He had to start on a second bag. This picture shows all the candy near us that was not picked up. I guess the kids didn’t have any more space to store more candy.

It's raining candy! Poor teachers who had to deal with all the sugared-uo kids today!!

It was snowing like crazy when I got up. I usually don't let weather interfere with my plans, but I just couldn't make myself go out in it to my 8:00 Pound class, so I canceled out & wrote Christmas cards instead. I will go to Zumba & Yoga tonight.

    I would have cancelled also!

It's been foggy, drizzle, some rain today. I drove over an hour to met with friends who I grew up with for lunch. Two couldn't attend so there were only 6 of us. We met at one of my friend's house.

One of my friends lives in the Moore County, NC where 2 utility substations were intentionally attacked on Saturday. The substations were damaged by gunfire. So far no one has taken responsibility for it and there's lots of fear of what can happen next. Everyone has been without power. A curfew has been set and no one can go out between 9pm and 5am. Luckily my friend and dh have been staying with her sister who has a generator. My friend has horses (the area is horse country) and they haven't been able to get water to them bc they are on a well. I missed the conversation on how she's watering the horses. As you can imagine, there are lots of conversations going on at once. My friend feels like she lives in a war zone.

After walking this morning, the Wednesday Women had our White Elephant Gift Exchange. image

That's a nice size group to do a White Elephant gift exchange. I bet it was fun. Hope you got a nice gift and not a White Elephant.

My friend's power came back on yesterday, thank goodness. There was another substation shot at in South Carolina but power started on. SICK PEOPLE!

It's been so dreary here for several days. Today I didn't even need a coat. I have the lights on my Christmas tree and will finish with the ornaments later. The lights help to light up the dreariness.

I did an hour long spot toning DVD & a 3 mile indoor walking DVD. We are babysitting the granddogs tonight. DS's work Christmas party is tonight. It's a Kentucky Derby theme. His fiance bought a Fasinator with peacock feathers. My dad was a sharp dressed man and DS borrowed a suit jacket I kept that is a tangerine color. Fun!

What a fun Christmas Party! Don't think I've ever heard of a themed Christmas Party before. I bet your ds looked sharp!

Went to see the musical "Jagged Little Pill" with a friend today. It was wonderful but not exactly a light, fun musical to watch at Christmastime. lol

DS said that everyone really got into dressing up in Kentucky Derby garb so it was a very fun Christmas party.

A little dancing with Marshall Fitness on the computer & went to Yoga. I convinced DS's fiance & one of her friends to come try out yoga with me (I have some free passes to my fitness center that I have to use before the end of the year). They said they liked it, so maybe they will want to use DH's unused passes too.

I went to Zumba, on a dog walk & was able to change my hair appointment from tomorrow to this afternoon. We are in the path of the monster storm that has been on the news. Stay tuned!

The holiday party we were supposed to attend tonight was cancelled because there was already some freezing rain coming down this afternoon. It's supposed to switch to snow tomorrow & then snow, snow, snow for who knows how long. Yuck!

Stay safe Ruth, I have been thinking of you these past few days as the storm trackers were forecasting the Snowmaggedon.

We are in the first week of finals for the fall semester...I have lots of use or lose vacation time so my last day is this Friday...then a three week hiatus between my annual leave and the normal holiday break! Really looking forward to it.

Was in NYC last week on a business trip which was beautiful but cold (for me)...got lots of steps/miles of walking. Avoiding the subway and walked. Slowing gaining strength/endurance from my knee injury in April(!) with PT through to September (!!! ugh).

While I am away from school will add additional exercise classes as I have more "recovery" time when I don't need to rush off to a class and then return to school and be on my feet teaching. My hope is that by the time I am back to school regular on Jan 10th, I will be able to return to my normal six days a week schedule at the gym...I have built up to 4 days a week at this point.

While we don't have snow, I live near Colonial Williamsburg, so it is beautiful and very festive.

Take care and try to stay warm, TT

Sounds like you have a good plan to finish off the rehab, TT!

We are definitely in the Snowmaggedon. This morning wasn't too awful; my fitness center was open, my Pound class was on, I live only a few blocks away, and I have a 4 wheel drive SUV. So I zipped over for the class & walked around the track for awhile before heading home. It's been snowing, and snowing, and snowing since then. We've shoveled 3 times & are supposed to get a lot more snow tonight, tomorrow, and some even into the weekend. I am supposed to have my annual physical on Thursday morning.....we shall see!

TT: Happy to read that your knee has improved so much! Have a fabulous vacation/holiday break.

Ruth: Bruno looks so happy to be in snow!

Went grocery shopping today as it will be rainy tomorrow.

    Walked/ran this afternoon.

Stay safe Ruth. I was a little surprised by your previous forecast of "not so bad" ...it was looking pretty overwhelming in the national weather reports.

Before my mother moved here in her retirement, she lived in our rural NH home where you would need to shovel the roof in especially difficult winters! I don't miss the cold, but I also don't miss what is actually very dangerous conditions.

    Take care, TT

We may have to get our roof shoveled before this is all over. We are in a blizzard warning until 6 pm tonight; and then an Arctic Cold Front will sweep in. I will do some more Exercise by DVD today. I don't think it is worth shoveling until the wind dies down.

Good grief, Ruth! Stay safe and as warm as you can.

Yesterday was a day of eating and no exercise. We had our Christmas gathering with dh's side of the family. First time since Christmas 2019.

    Walked/ran this afternoon.

    Hi all!

Just a quick visit while the generator is going. Per the national weather service official tallies, we were right in the line of fire Friday, getting somewhere between 21 and 24 inches of dense white concrete. Haven't had power since. Snow:water ratio was 8:1, which is ridiculous even for us. Just trying to dig out the small deck snowblower got my heart rate through the roof, and the snow was too thick and heavy for the snowblower to be very effective.

No treadmill for me -- I have a good excuse for now :D. But the erg doesn't require electricity, so I did ow some, while watching a downloaded old GBBO. I had planned baking for the weekend, but probably good for my waistline that I didn't, as I would have had to sample!

I am really hoping my balance is improved enough to get back out on x-country skis this season.

I hope everyone here is well.

Hi yesiam, we are tied with you as we got between 20-25 inches too. It was heavy & wet here too. Then it got really cold, so the roads are icy and rutted. So depressing. I was in a very Ebanzer Scrooge mood today!
